Yesterday, I finally had the opportunity to visit this store. At a family gathering this past Christmas, I was treated to a wonderful Anchio Pepper Jam that was out of this world! My sister, was given this jar of jam and was told to just pour it over soften cream cheese and serve it with light crackers. We all could not believe what a simple and tasteful appetizer this was to make and serve. Everyone wanted to buy this product and when we all went home we could not find it. I went to every grocery store in town. I was able to finally find it through researching the label. This store was so quaint and well worth the drive! I just wish I had taken the sales lady up on packaging me up some cheese in ice for the road trip to return home. When I tasted the sample she offered it was like dying and going to heaven. It was so smooth and could have easily pared it with a serving of pears like she had in a basket on display. I just wish I had bought some of it. The store was inviting and well stocked. I bought 3 jars of the pepper jam, some mustard I have not had in 15 years from France, breads and of course I could not resist the tempting chocolate twists. I should have tasted the vinegars and olive oils that were on display, but was pressed for time. I enjoyed shopping in it and will definately plan a road trip again. It takes me 1 1/2 hours to get there and I did feel it was definately worth it. The atmosphere is vintage with a European feel, comfy and pleasing to the eye and palat. For anyone looking for speciality items, this is definately the place to visit. The staff was friendly and very helpful, providing me with suggestions on using the mustard in ways I never imagined. She recommended adding a little olive oil to a tablespoon of the spicy course mustard, stirring in chopped rosemary and tossing in vegetables such as potatoes, califlower, etc.. and roasting it in the oven. My plan is to use this along with covering a ham in it, as my mother in law, Patty had done for years. Since she passed on, I have not experienced this ham in 15 years. They simply do not sell it in the grocery stores. As far as price goes, I feel it is fair since you are paying for some imported items like the cheese. Not overly pricey. I recommend it!

Superb selection of cheeses with knowledgeable staff there to help. They have great salads, even gluten free quichettes. We love their Farro salad. And there are specialty seasonings and condiments thatnI simply cannot find, even at Whole Paycheck.
