So I have been going to this salon for over a year and honestly the only reason why I went was because of the stylist Kianna. Even though she is no longer there I decided to go back. Every time I went I have always spent well over $70, and the way I was treated the last two times I went was horrible. I called to make an appointment and it wasnt the normal receptionist which is nice. After the women got my information she said, "Make sure you show up!" I have always showed up to my appts and when I cant I make sure to call, so that was rude of her to say to a well paying customer. Then I ask the receptionist if it would be possible for me to get a fill in and a pedicure, she said she would ask the technician. When I got my hair done by Fran she mentioned (after she finished) that I needed my ends trim, which she shouldve told me before she started flat ironing my hair. Then as I waiting up front for my ticket the nail tech comes over and is looking me up and down and asked what I needed done. Then she said she has been gone and had to ask the receptionist if they do acrylic nails! (how do you not know!) So as she walks in the back to where the station is I hear her and Fran talking, and she says she doesnt see it. Fran asks her why is she looking when she doesnt even want to do my nails. Then she comes up to me and says that she cant find the liquid, after she stares at my feet but before she says I really need a fill in. So I told her nevermind, paid for my services (which Im not happy with) and left. Will never set foot in here again, highly disappointed. I had my mom come here, my sister and was going to make an appt for my grandmother.

This shop is decorated lovely and everyone is so professional. I love that they accept Sunday appointments. Christol provided a thorough consultation that included me looking at hair swatches to determine the color I was describing and what she was hearing so there would not be any disconnect. She received major kudos from me on this level of attention to detail since sometimes there is a difference between what I think I am describing and what a stylist hears. However I must confessed, I was not worried after following the shop on Instagram and seeing her skills. I was truly comfortable with letting Christol decide which cut and color would compliment my skin and face shape. She did not disappoint!!! I love my new haircut and color!!! I am so ecstatic to find a true colorist that fully understands the craft to know how to lift dark hair and provide highlights safely in one visit. Yes I did just say one visit. Not one time did I hear that your hair is too dark, I cant help you because your hair has been dyed black etc....I am natural and Christol ensured my style showed the intricacies of the color and cut and everyone thought she had permed my hair. I am still receiving so many compliments. Christol has gifted hands and I am so happy I found her!

I was very disappointed with the service I received via phone. Due to poor customer service prior via phone never made into the shop. I was interested in cutting my hair. I went to the website to find out as much information as I could. I was happy to learn the salon also featured nail technicians and a spa. This was the perfect one stop shop. Eagerly, I contacted the salon, being new in the area and transitioning from natural to relaxer I had a few follow-up questions. When I called the shop the lady on the phone quickly referred me to the website. I explained to her that I had already been on the website and some of my questions were not answered and wanted to clarify. the lady again pushed me to the website. I explained again that I had more questions that were not clear on the site. The lady responded and said "we have all the information you need on the website and we get too many phone calls for me to go over information with you that you can find on our website". Feeling discouraged and already nervous about the haircut, I contacted another salon and the owner was very helpful in answering my questions and helping me feel secure with the transition from Natural to relaxed hair.

My experience with this hair salon wasnt the best. First off I got a relaxer that burnt my forehead, sides of my face and neck. Then I explained this to the owner and she tried to get the same stylist that burned my head to wash it over and style my hair again!!!! Why would I want this? Very unprofessional, and high priced for no reason. Im very upset because i trusted and paid good money too crystols hair salon, as professional hair stylist to take care of my hair and they did worst than the chick around the corner. This will be my last time speaking about this salon. And they wont see no coins from me or none of my family and friends. Lucky to get 1 star from me.

The ONLY reason they got one star was because I couldnt rate ZERO star (s). The pricing was ridiculous for the service rendered. Even the stylist looked embarrassed when the price was SPRUNG on me. I get services on NYC better and cheaper! Let me start by saying the stylist over processed my hair, pulling the perm mid-way to the ends (my new growth was not that much!!!). No trim, no clean-up, and HATED the styling. Was told at the END, that the perm was $35 and the styling was $65! I would have respected them more if that was reversed. Anyway, I ended up co-washing my hair and doing it over as soon as I got home. Salon Christol will NEVER SEE ME OR ROB ME AGAIN!

Im not going back! For $115 I would expect star treatment for a silk press and hydration reconstructor conditon. The salon was nice and so was the receptionist. My stylist (Pearl) on the other hand seemed ilknowledgable when it came to working on my natural hair. (she wasnt the best) Detangling before a blowout is essential. I wanted a trim, but she suggested a cut. When I declined the cut she wouldnt give me a trim. Since I couldnt get the trim I had to opt for curls. Had I known known the results I could have saved my money and done my hair myself. For a 1st time customer I expected better treatment.

I went in October 2012 and was not at all satisfied with the service. I went on a Wednesday and at that time (not sure about now) they had a special called weave Wednesdays and basically a sew in was offered at a discounted price. I was not given the discounted price and the ladies were very rude. Also to clip my ends it was 15 extra although I didnt ask for it. I would not recommend this place.

I am sorely disappointed to find that yet another stylist bites the dust. Called on Wednesday to make an appointment, left a message and never received a return call. So when I called and got a person today, I was told my stylist is not there anymore. Pissed! Time to find another salon. Three strikes have already been exhausted!
