Son is now 5 1/2 and it is time for him to move into Elementary School. We are all so very sad to be leaving the Goddard School. He started there when he was 3 after a horrible (quasi abusive) experience at another daycare center. He immediately felt loved, supported and was able to trust that the staff was genuine with him. The staff has consistently responded to each and every question or concern that has ever been expressed swiftly and with great interest. The administration and the staff have created a nurturing, educational based environment that has prepared my son VERY WELL for entering Kindergarten in the fall. He LOVES to go to school, likes to learn and likes to show off his new-found knowledge everyday when he comes home. I cannot say enough about how fantastic I believe that the Goddard School is and what a blessing they have been to my son (and to us) in the past several years. Quality PreSchool Education and TOP NOTCH Staff with EXCELLENT communication....Its a great partnership between the school and the family!

My DH and I both work full-time, and both of our kids have been in daycare settings since 6-7 wks old. My experience with this Goddard has by far been the worst. Although the owner & director put on friendly faces, they are rigid and blindly enforces policies without thought. One particular teacher tends to turn the blame on the parent whenever any concerns about feeding issues, etc. are voiced. I can only speak for the younger classrooms, but there is a lot of staff turnover. The teachers for my DD did not seem very experienced. They frequently could not pick up when she needed an extra nap, was hungry, etc. I was called frequently at work over minor issues, which was very disruptive. My child did not develop well there at all. I do not think they provide a "safe" or "nurturing" environment. We had a much better experience at a much cheaper daycare elsewhere.

Not a great daycare. Unlike Roger, I am going to mostly agree with the True&Honest review. We found that in general, the caregivers were reasonable and were not the problem (but this has been class dependent). However, management in this place is absolutely terrible. They do not listen to parents concerns, and if you have an issue they tend to make things up to make it sound okay. Management is also extremely "artificial," and I have the impression they do not allow the caregivers to speak openly to the parents. This is a real issue! How can you leave your child with a caregiver that cannot speak freely with the parents? I have to say, for being the most expensive day care we found in the area, we are not impressed. I certainly cannot say your child will not do well and like this school, but do take care and be sure this environment is right for your child.

Our daughter attends the Kindergarten class at the Goddard School in Frederick and has had an amazing experience so far (we are almost half way through the school year). At the beginning of the year she could not read and now she is reading simple books with confidence. The environment is extremely nurturing and her teacher is simply excellent. I believe she gets much more individualized attention at Goddard than she would have in the public school setting. All of the other teachers that weve encountered are excellent as well, and are very kind. Most of the teachers have been there a long time, so turnover is very low. Recently, the school came under new ownership, and she has been absolutely wonderful and kind to us in numerous ways. She makes a point to know my daughter and truly cares about each the children and the quality of the school.

When it came time to pick a school for my son there was only one choice for me, The Goddard School in Frederick. As a former employee at the location, I knew that I would be leaving my son with the most caring and nurturing staff that Frederick County has to offer. I have watched him grow from a toddler with limited verbal skills to a babbling 5 year old who loves to share what he did at school with me every night. The recent renovations to the building are spectacular and really give the school a warm and comforting feeling. When my son leaves to go on to public school in the fall I know that he will be more than prepared for his educational journey and I have the staff at The Goddard School Frederick to thank.

My son has been at this Goddard for about 3 years (hes 3 1/2). Hes been in every room up until his current preschool room. I would never think of moving him. Particularly because we came to Goddard after a not-so-great experience elsewhere, it was a relief to start at Goddard. The teachers are all wonderful and any issue Ive had has been responded to immediately. All their people have some college in the child development area, so you know theyre not picking anyone off the street. I cant say enough about how much weve enjoyed being at Goddard. Ive already thought about how scary it will be for ME to go from Goddard to a public elementary school.

The director does not even make a point to meet with parent and child. Appears she is "too good" to do so. Rooms for the children leave a little more to be desired. Managers seem fine but very artificial. Teachers dont take a lot of time to speak with parent. Less than two mins. With all the extra costs going into this so called "private school" you would expect more. Be careful when choosing this school. If you are looking for genuine warmth and caring....this is not the place to go. Disappointing....I have removed my child and he is doing much better at his new school. (which isnt private)

I am a very critical parent and I am very happy with Goddard School. My son does very well there and they are great dealing with me even as difficult as I can be. The reviewer True&Honest that reviewed this place a year ago must have a screw loose because their review is completely wrong. This is my third preschool for my son as I hated the first two, but, this place is very good. I like the teachers, the director and the owner, all of them and that is very rare for me to say. I have noticed in my son that this place is also the first place he actually enjoys going to.

The Goddard School in Frederick is the best school in this area! Our experience here is a wonderful one. My child has learned so much since day one. The staff here is just amazing and the new owner is fantastic. The school was recently renovated and it looks great.... the new playground is just perfect for the kids to have lots of fun. I personally love the curriculum and all of the extra classes like yoga, music, and sign language. Best decision ever!!

I love this school! The staff is very friendly and the teachers care a lot about their students. They always have activities planned for the kids that are so much fun they dont even notice how much they are actually learning. And in the summer they have a great summer camp program. I would never send my kid anywhere else, and I will certainly miss them when she moves on to public school!
