The facility is great in terms of the equipment. But there are problems. Biggest is the staff is sleazy. Dishonest. They promised to permit my child to come with me and sit quietly watching TV, telling me that a child the age of my child was permitted by their policy to sit alone and watch the tube. I told them this was a condition of my joining and they were unequivocal in their commitment and agreement. Then they changed their policy and would not let her come and sit quietly. I have to pay $5 each time she comes or $10/month. So this has cost more money than I had agreed to. I was deceived. Also there is a lot of theft in the locker rooms. The lockers should have autolock with self-selected combinations. I do not like this feeling that either the staff or the clientele are going to rip me off.

Joined this club the week it opened. Overall a positive experience but there are definitely some issues with some of the members and returning weights to the racks. There seem to be quite a few members who just leave dumbbell equipment where ever they want or put it back on the rack in the wrong spots. This is NOT a club management problem, this is the fault of membership. I make it a habit to thank anyone I see putting weights back or stripping down their equipment. And the folks that I do ask to be courteous and re-rack their weights, I get anywhere between ignored to cursed at. On my wish list would be a pace clock in the pool area or please paint the second hand on that really hard to see clock something dark (red/orange or black) so it can be seen from the pool.

I regularly workout at five different la fitness locations, all equally clean and maintained well. Sounds like a good thing, but what I cant understand is why the cleaning staff at Gaithersburg insists on walking through the showers every 5 minutes, adding to the same soap dispensers each time with a few drops of soap, cutting eyes at you. Almost makes one think they are peeping toms, or at a minimum, water police. Very uncomfortable feeling at this location. Again, measuring fairly against four other locations, all just as clean, so it is what it is.

Terrible staff. They dont know how to treat customers, Copley place people came to my office and asked to signup for membership, they filled my application on paper with all details and credit card info and gave me the tag. I kept on using it at Quince Orchard for few days, after sometime when i go there they said my membership is invalid, and didnt allow me. I asked them to check with Copley Place guys, they dont even call them saying every where its same and sent me out. If you cant maintain member data better shutdown the business.

This place is a rip off. Dont sign the personal Training contract with LA Fitness. The guys over there make you sign up for that saying its 52 weeks "Commitment". when you think of getting out of contract even god cannot come out of the contract. I moved away from Maryland and the place I moved has no LA fitness locations in the state. When I called them to cancel the contract as there are no LA fitness locations in the entire state, they say that I have to buy out Half of the sessions which I cannot use them.

I like this gym because it is close to where I live. But, if you have a problem with something after you join, no one returns phone calls. If you sign up for personal training, there is a clause in the contract that they continue charging you after the period of time you sign up for ends unless you tell them personally you do not want to continue. Be aware of that clause! No one will help you out by reminding you. And no one will return your phone calls when you try to get help.

Unfortunately, I have to say, that there are people who coming to gym to steal. Last week, somebody took my sneakers! I can not believed, that some people so desperate to wear somebody running shoes! They were almost brand new. I never lock my locker, assuming nobody will go over your stuff. Well, it happens in this location. I got my lesson, and got the locker. But, will not continue my membership here. Management does not care much, plus you hardly see cleaning lady here.

while the gym is nice, it is very heavily used during peak hours and waits are long for certain equipment. Also, i left my gym bag in my locker with a lock and the lock was broken off within the hour i was there, my bag was placed under a bench and searched through for valuables. Luckily, I keep my wallet on me, but this seems to be a regular occurrence for which they have not found a solution. Canceling membership and going elsewhere.

Machines out of order , sometimes no paper towels . Its been a month already and there few machines out of order still . The LA Fitness assets 53.79M with 1000 employees and you cant afford free Wi-Fi. Lockers needs to be replaced not comfortable putting my personal items in the mens locker because the entire locker room got robbed last year. Cleanness not really, hardware , ladders , vacuum are sometimes closer to machines.

Worst managers of all time, all they know is to rip you off . No manners on how to speak to people . If you think of freezing your account , you might as well cancel it and pay the initiation fee when you deceide to return . They charge you a monthly fee and yet they change you only God knows what fee.....

Spacious locker rooms, VERY clean facility, Nice classes that are free... The staff that checks in your membership though is a 50/50. Half the time there is someone nice there and the other half of the time, that person looks like they hate their life... And yours too... Its a toss up.

I love the gym but Sylvia (boot camp and body works instructor) is awful! Shes so slow with everything she does, she talks too much and shes late almost all the time. I dont recommend you her classes if you hate slow workouts. Never going to any of her classes again

The gym is nice but there is a serious theft issue there and the management doesnt seem to be addressing it. My car was burglarized in the parking lot and Ive heard from many members that lockers have been broken into. Dont bring anything of value to this location.

Just moved here, and I love this location! Never been to an LA Fitness before this, but the staff is friendly, theres always available equipment no matter the time of day, and the members are diverse. Definitely not a meat head gym, which I love!

Came here and decided to go back to the one at Crown Plaza near Rio. Way to many old members here, which is not bad. Also, the other one has new equipment and I love their pool. Staff is awesome and always willing to help.

Good place to do physical exercises in the mornings ... In the afternoon it is uncomfortable, there are too many people and it is a problem to use the machines ... usually, The mens sauna does not smell good ...
