The room was very dirty and it smelled like smoke. Also, when we contacted the office about it they did not do anything and they were not very friendly at all. However. the part that we stayed at was the older part of the lodge. They said that they have just made renovations to a lot of the place only like three years ago. When we chose our room like three months ago they did not say that they had a new or old part. Also they did not give us the choice of what part we wanted and we did not know that we would be stuck in that part. In addition, they allow pets. I do not know any place that lets you bring dogs into the room. However, they did have a nice pool and a nice fitness center. But if you are looking for a fancy place to stay this is not the place. It is very standard but even worse because the room is very old.

We paid a $149 for a room which we thought is located in the new building but we were assigned to a room in the old motel building. The room looked like a rundown cheap motel room which is dirty and with 1/3 of the electrical outlets are not working. The size of the bathroom vanity is about 2 feet x 2 feet. The concrete surface on the balcony and stairway chipped on many area. It took us 15 minutes questioning and complaining the room situation to a staff in order to switch to another room in the new building. The Lodge has a great fitness room and a pool and the breakfast foods are pretty good. Do not be fooled by the online photos on its website If you like to make a reservation on Penn Wells Lodge. It is better to ask the hotel which building your room will be at before you book your room.

My husband and I stayed here to visit the PA grand canyon. Its about a 20 minute drive away. The town is really cute and worth the drive. The hotel is very nice, the staff is friendly, and rooms are clean and comfortable. It has one of the nicest pools Ive ever seen in a hotel. I swam laps because its so long. Breakfast is included and was great. The only bad/ weird thing was it only had 1 outlet to charge our phones and the light switches were bizarre. Like many hotels, it was best just to turn off lights individually. We tried to flip the light switch inside the door and found it turned off not only the lights but also the clock, TV, & wall outlets. However this was minor. Overall, we loved our stay and would come back.

Was there for the Grand Canyon Marathon. They sponsored the marathon to get the place filled with runners but never accommodate with the race needs (such as early or late breakfast). In addition, the staff was __really__ slow (10 minutes to get somebody in the lobby on ... a Friday evening ...) and does not provide good customer service. On top on that, the walls are thin like paper and there is mold in the bathroom. I just do not recommend it, for approximately $120 per night, there are definitively better options around.

Its a good place in Wellsboro, but its nothing too fancy. Theres a nice pool with lanes for exercising. The breakfast is a little better than most Continental breakfasts at chain hotels and has Starbucks coffee. The room I was in had very few outlets, which made charging electronic devices difficult. The TV was a 28" Samsung and was plenty big for the size of the room. The light switches seemed confused with where the lights they were supposed to turn on were. Overall, its a good hotel for the price.

This is a great little gem of a hotel! The hotel is clean and has all the amenities you would want: pool, hot tub, sauna, exercise room, laundry room, hot breakfast, etc. The only thing missing is they do not have coffee pots or microwaves in the rooms. The beds are comfortable and the rooms were quiet. Part of the hotel is disconnected from the rest of the hotel and there is not an elevator in that part, so if you cant do stairs, make sure that you request to stay in the part that has an elevator

Located on Main Street, the Penn Wells Lodge is incredibly convenient. The Lodge features a reasonably nice breakfast included with the room. Eggs, sausage, and French toast were part of thus mornings breakfast. The pool is nice. We stayed in the pet friendly older portion our the Lodge with our three dogs. I remember staying in this section back in 1990 while at STPR. A new multi-story, enclosed section was added in the last couple of years.

Excellent room - clean and spacious, modern. The included breakfast is impressive with cheese omelettes, french toast, sausage links, various juices, fresh Starbucks coffee, and banana muffins (baked in-house that morning). 4 stars because the pillows were harder than I liked and the bed was extremely soft - not so great in my lower back. All in all, had a good experience and will be back. I recommend staying here when in the area.

When we made reservations there was no mention that the motel was under renovation. We arrived and rudely told we could not park at the motel. The desk clerk was uncaring and made us feel like we were intruding. We had to wait for the demolition crew to let us pass each time we went to and from the room. The heavy equipment started at 8:00 AM each morning. No consolation was made for our $100 plus a day stay.

I had a great stay. The staff was really helpful. We stayed on the older side of the hotel. It was more of a motel than hotel, it could do with some updating but it was very clean. Great large indoor pool, very old school but still great. The continental breakfast was really solid. I enjoyed it very much. Had a great stay and would love to come back!

I have stayed at the lodge on 2 occasions - each occasion for 3-5 nights. The rooms are very standard, some come with fridge and microwave. They do have a pool and hot tub, which is a bonus. Also, there is a small balcony if youd like to sit outdoors - not much of a view, though (just the parking lot). The staff are extremely friendly, though.

The room was very clean and comfortable, the parking lot is very tight, luckily no dings or dents on my vehicle. The breakfast buffett, was disappointing, as it only had one choice for hot food, and not enough seating for guests eating breakfast. Otherwise the stay was good.

Bedding was terrible. Noisy mattresses if youre rooming with others and the pillows are hard and flat. Very nice appearing hotel but sub-par amenities. When confronted with the pillow complaint the staff was very confrontational and rude. Not worth the rate they charge.

Had a comfortable stay. Amenities were nice (pool, hot tub, sauna). Appeared to be an older motel thats been updated, especially in the front office area. Smotth checkin/checkout, free parking and a nice breakfast. Would stay here again.

The location is great! Its right across from a DD, a shopping center, and right tat the beginning of a road full of shops. Very nice rooms and the service people are very friendly!
