I would pay 5x the price of this gym to not have to deal with the employees. Even though there is "no contract", they force you to come to the location to cancel your account. Whats better is that even after you fill out the cancelation form you are not guaranteed to be cancelled. At 6pm on 9/9/2016 I went to the location to cancel. As no management was present, I was given a form to fill out by an employee. Im assuming he was new as he failed to give me a copy and apparently did not turn in the form. Ive contacted other managers and sent in contact requests via the website which were ignored between then and today 12/7. Today I was finally able to get a hold of the general manager Wendy. She is the most unpleasant manager Ive ever dealt with at a place of business. According to her, I never came to the location, as if I had filled out a form she would have gotten it. She refused to acknowledge any mistake on their end, even though I introduced a friend who was with me when I cancelled. She will not issue a refund and is requiring me to visit the location again to cancel. She accused me of never going to the location to cancel. It is likely that her key performance indicators as general manager directly relate to monthly reoccurring revenue totals and churn percent and this is why she is refusing to honor my cancellation and refund. Worlds Gym would do itself a service by removing her from the position as her attitude directly translates to the service provided by the employees under her. 12/12 update: Wendy still claims I never filled out the Cancellation form. This is a direct quote from her: "I can show that I process cancellations on a daily basis, and there is in no way any reason I would not cancel his account, if he had come in and filled out the form. " She is also trying to scare me into removing my honest reviews: "He mentions in his statement, as he said on the phone, that this is in some way some monthly revenue totals I am trying to avoid, which is completely not true, and is slanderous, which I take great offense to and believe is illegal for him to write about me, as he did on a forum like FACEBOOK. If I had the time I could sue for deformation of character, because his claims are completely false and unsubstantiated." 12/19 Wendy has cancelled the account finally but refuses to return stolen payments.

You get what you pay for. Cheap monthly fees for an adequate gym is the only positive. My complaint is about the service. I had a question about billing and contacted the gym via phone twice and then through email on two occasions. None of these attempts were successful. A third email indicating that I was not happy was then answered by the owner who laid the blame on me stating that the email was for general information and not billing questions. At the very least I could have received a reply from someone informing me of this. Not only did he state this but not even an apology or asking if he could assist me. After another email back to Mr. Laurie, he then asked me what my issue was in such a manner that he did not really seem to care. I sent back my concerns and have not heard from him since. I will not pursue this further with Mr. Laurie as I refuse to waste my time on this matter and deal with someone that does not care about his customers. I will certainly not be back at this gym again and will try to stay away from any World Gym in the future as it appears they will provide a franchise to just about anyone.

Beware that this gym is in a very high-crime area, where break-ins are common, and the parking lot is not well-lit. If you break into cars for a living you cant ask for a more ideal hunting ground. Like others below, my car window was shattered in the parking lot while I was inside the gym one evening and management gave me no indication that they were going to do anything to address the matter. No motion sensor lights, no cameras, no security of any kind. Obviously, there was no offer to help me recoup my losses, either.

Its been little over a year since I became a member at this gym. I have no complaints at all about this place. Its not a fancy gym, but they have all I need for good workouts - cardios, weights, locker, and shower. It could be a little crowded in the evening hours since its close to a college, but I go early in the morning when I dont have to wait at all. I dont participate in any of the classes they offer, so I have nothing to say about them. The best part is the price! For the price, this place is a steal!!

By far the worse kind of staff this gym has to offer and then its not a great place to go to workout. They bullied me around and called me names like I cant hear, very negative people but all they care for is the ten dollars monthly so they make you feel very poor so you can stop going and have a payment. The staff are really rude and feel the need to make you feel less for anything. If you respond and make them feel like they do instantly its the issue of me being a rude person at the end.

The gym itself is fine. No problems there, however the front desk staff is really not very competent. I hate writing these types of reviews but World Gym needs to get it together on their front desk customer service. If you go there, maybe ask for a manager to explain procedures and payments. In the three times Ive dealt with the front desk staff (3 different people), I can honestly say I walked away from those communications with almost none of my questions answered.

I have been a member at this gym for about a year , Im very upset how the customer service works at this gym. I wanted to cancel my membership at August but Informed me that if i froze my membership I wont have to pay a fee for the months but instead I was charged for October and November hold fee and year fee with out them notifying me. Bad customer service, need to re train the staff...very rude i am never going back to this gym again.

I literally love this gym. Its the first gym Ive ever gone to regularly, but since starting Ive had the occasion to go to a few others, all which just felt like a disappointment in comparison. I feel so comfortable here, the staff is friendly, everyone who goes is kind and mind their own business. Theres a sense of unspoken community idk. The vibe is just on point. Plus, $10 a month, you cannot get that anywhere.
