I went to this facility and was surprise by how much work needed to be done at this location. When I walked in the person working did not greet me well at all. I had to express to her my reason for coming and was told to go to the shampoo area rather than her walking me to the area. It took me awhile to actually locate it seeing this was my first time at there new location and it took awhile for the hair stylist to come to the location as she was busy on the phone making a personal call. I was told to hold on two minutes as they where trying to complete a phone call. Seeing it took longer than they expected they proceeded to wash my hair while having the phone still to there ear. After awhile holding someone came on the phone, the hair stylist left my hair in mid wash and ask me to give her a minute and she proceeded to talk to the person on the other end. During her conversation a young lady walked in and she asked her to continue to shampoo my hair for her. This young lady which was another hair stylist did not wash her hand but proceed to the bowl to wash my hair. I decided not to say anything to see how this whole event would play out testing my theory. After my hair was wash she place it in a towel which was rapped poorly and told me which chair I could go to. They where two more client in there who were under the dryer. One client hair was finish and she proceeded to go outside and came back with money which she paid the second hair stylist whom was now doing my hair (and name yet to be known seeing she never introduce herself). The hair stylist took the money from her and took her clips out and then took her order of products then proceeded to continue with my hair never washing her hand after handling money. As I said I decided not to say anything because I wanted to see how it played out so I can give a fair assessment. After she did the maintenance on my hair she then place me under a dryer, just as my hair was completely dry I notice she went outside came back and after being told my hair was dry came to attend to my hair now I can not be certain she washed her hands before dealing with my hair but its fair to assume she did not as she did not twice before. Not only that she NEVER asked me if I was allergic to nuts, she just place the product in my head. Lucky for me I was not but she did not know that, easy way to get a law suit on your hands. I would have to say the customer service is very poor and the level of hygiene is as well, which leaves a lot to be desired as an establishment that has been servicing people for many yes and when I use to go to the old location which had different staffing. The issue I am seeing now was not the issues I have seen before. Customer service is very important and I think along with providing a service to client that some hair stylist must know the importance of this along with good hygiene practices.

If the owner was there when I was she should close her business down. The conversations between the stylist was terrible. Very unprofessional! When you first walk into the salon all the stylist stare you in your face. They dont ask how may I help your or welcome to dreadz n headz. I felt like I should have walked out. I had to say "Is this Dreadz n headz. One of the stylist put a key lock in another stylist underwear and they laughed about it for 1 hour. They argued with each other the entire time. One stylist came in and said she wasnt doing any hair that day b/c she was tired. They seemed more concerned about ordering breakfast than doing hair. Too many young women working in there are not serious about styling. You wont catch me back in there ever again. Also it was dirty, trash and hair every where. You would be better off doing your own hair. PLEASE FIND ANOTHER SALON TO GO TO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME

New to this natural hair thing, so going off of the reviews I went in with a picture and high hopes. Unfortunately, I left very disappointed and tempted to forget this entire process & just get a perm. The "style" I was given looks nothing like the picture that I provided. The stylist told me that I had to let the curls drop and then pluck it out after a few days for the full effect. For the price, I feel like I should have walked out with what I asked for, not something that I couldve done myself. Originally, the stylist explained that she was going to cut the rest of the perm out of my hair and comb coil to get the desired look. Instead, my hair has tiny two strand twists all over. To make matters worse, Im pretty sure that there is still perm in my hair which defeats the whole purpose of why I was seeking a natural hair salon. Now I have no idea what to do!

I called Dreadz n Headz last night to make an appointment for today. THIS SALON WAS SUPPOSED TO BE OPEN AT 8 THIS MORNING. AND I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT THEY DONT TAKE APPOINTMENTS. I SAT IN FRONT OF THE SALON FROM 7:55 TO 8:30 AND NO ONE WAS THERE!!! I CALLED AND KNOCKED. MY DAUGHTERS HAVE THEIR FIRST BALLET RECITAL TODAY!! THEY ARE THE ONLY BLACK CHILDREN IN THEIR DANCE SCHOOL. AND WHILE THESE OTHER MOMS ARE PUTTING FAKE HAIR AND COLOR IN THEIR DAUGHTERS HAIR (not that Im judging them!) I WAS HOPING I COULD HAVE SOMETHING NICE DONE TO THEIR LOCS SO THEY CAN FEEL LIKE THE NATURALLY BEAUTIFUL BALLERINAS I KNOW THEY ARE!! I am really disappointed. I will NEVER come back there. Especially when THEY dont know their own hours.

My Loc Birthday (starting my locs) is today! I am so grateful for this place because its comfortable, friendly, and enjoyable. I was seen right away. I was taught and schooled on what I need to do to improve the concerns that I have been having with my hair. I truly learned a lot today. Sabrina answered every question that I asked while she tended to my hair. The owner, Malaika, is very kind and warm. All of the employees make you feel welcomed and like family. I am definitely comfortable and at peace here. Big Ups and Much Respect Dreadz N Headz.

I did a walk in and I waited for about 30 minutes before I was seen. The women are friendly and professional. The owner offered to take money off of the price of my style because I took an Uber to the salon, and ended up in their old location. There was a food vendor that came in and I have to say that the tea was worth the $2.00 that I spent for it. Two women were first timers to the shop. I hope that they enjoyed their experience at the salon. I will be going on regular basis. Thank you Malika and staff at Dreadz and Headz. You guys rock!
