The only thing I can comment on is the nail service. My experience was HORRIBLE! The woman who put tips on my nails was a miserable person who wasnt happy with her job or the people she worked with and I heard about it the whole time I was there. She tried to talk me out of getting nails put on, telling me they would ruin my nails, which I agreed but I was only having them put on for my daughters wedding and than taking them off. It took her 3 hours from start to finish, which was ridiculous. I asked for a French manicure and she said I should only get them painted one color because it takes too long to do a French. She didnt know how to do designs so I asked if she could put just 1 line under the French manicure and she said yes but it was going to cost me $8 per finger. This place is a joke and definitely not worth the money they charge. After having the nails on for 1 week, I got a fungus under my nails. Ive been getting nail tips for 10 years and this is the first time Ive ever gotten a fungus. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR NAIL SERVICE!

About Faces has such a reputation around Baltimore as the "premiere" day spa, but I really dont understand the hype. If you want to charge outrageous prices and treat your clientele with attitude, take your business out of a former office building complex because we can tell youre a hack! I spent my one hour facial looking at styrafoam/cheap drop ceiling, which I dont mind, but just tout yourselves so seriously. Its infuriating. While I had a great experience with the masseuse, I think the prices are outrageous in this particular market. The pedicures you get here are no better than the ones you find on the cheap (but at least some one is accountable for clean tools!) so really I dont understand the big deal. Also, nail color options are quasi-plentiful. They only use OPI nail products, which are very old-school/old-lady. Their cheap-looking metallics are not the "in" polish of the hour, so again, if youre going to be a premiere nail salon, try to keep up. At least bring a dozen Essie bottles for show.

I hate giving this low of a rating and I rarely do, however as a spa worker myself I hold a much higher standard and level of expectation. I was surprised with a day of couples treatments by my fiancé. We arrived early for our treatment sessions as I knew we would need time to fill out intake forms. The day began with a couples massage which did not start until 12 minutes after our scheduled time. Although being in the same room was nice I did not enjoy my massage at all and felt like the therapist was simply going through the motions to pass time. As well the room was less spa like and more like a fancy medical exam room with massage tables. After the massage we were escorted to a holding room with refreshments to wait for the next treatment of mani pedis.i did really enjoy both the hand and food treatments. Overall the concept was wonderful but the massage ruined it for me.

I could not disagree more with the post below. About Faces charges similar prices to all the other top salons in the area, so Im not sure why anyone would call them outrageous. And as for the ceiling comment....who is staring at the ceiling? I have been going to About Faces for over three years and still have no idea what the ceiling is made out of. Someone has too much time on their hands critiquing others and writing mean comments on the internet. I personally love all of the stylists and spa workers Ive ever interacted with. I hope my post will bring more business to fantastic salon and staff!

I had eyelash extensions done for the first time today at About Faces in Timonium, and it completely surpassed my expectations. Aimee B is knowledgable and experienced, and she did an incredible job in half the time I thought it would take. She was able to apply an entire set of lashes in less than an hour, and I could not be happier with the results. I would highly recommend her for anyone - new or old - interested in lash extensions.

I wanted to plan a special day for me and my girl friend for her birthday... The services were good but when it came to the payment process... They really need to get their business in order. I was initially over charged and I felt like I was dealing with a child behind the counter who could not explain to me the prices for each service... If you looking for a couples retreat, go else where !

Mylene is a terrific esthetician, wonderful facials. Jacqueline gives great massages, Nube gives great mani/pedi! Front desk staff is warm and welcoming (Catherine, Marianna, Claire, etc.) Love this spa.

Wilma is the best. All staff is very helpful. Wilma uses wonderful hair cutting techniques and coloring choices are perfect.
