We got a safety inspection on our 06 Frontier. The shop called us and told us that it failed for one license tag light bulb burned out and mentioned something about the brakes being "squishy." We went to the shop, getting the bulb on the way so that we could fix it and get the inspection certificate. Thats when we were told that he felt the brakes didnt grab enough (they felt fine to us), the parking brake was set too high, and that the alignment pulled to the left. So, to make him happy we bled the brakes, adjusted the parking brake lower. Both of us drove the truck in a straight line... at 70 mph and took our hands off the steering wheel--perfectly straight. Feeling they just wanted to sell an alignment, we argued that we felt there was absolutely nothing wrong, definitely not enough to fail a safety inspection. They countered with putting it on the machine, the machine doesnt lie. We countered again:put the truck on the machine, allowing us to watch, and if it falls out of alignment, then you can fix it. They put it on the machine: all but one result fell perfectly within specs... the camber was off by .01 on one side. Which he did not correct, then charged us a half an hour to "adjust the steering wheel" to his liking, which we know he didnt do either, because he did not have the time after we left the room to have possibly removed the steering wheel to move it a tooth. But at that point that was cheaper than getting a different shop to do the inspection and possibly find ANOTHER made up issue. We have used this shop several times for mounting and balancing tires and they hadnt damaged our rims. We were were looking for a local shop that we could trust and they have now failed our expectations.

Great work. Honest people. Wonderful, wonderful local family owned business. As a female who doesnt know cars, its intimidating to take your car in to have it fixed or maintained. Not here. I come here, they talk to me about what needs to be done and why. If I dont understand their technical terms/parts then they take the time to teach me. I remember coming in once and telling them about a strange noise in my car (and then making the noise so theyd know what I meant). They didnt laugh at me, or start talking parts to me - which was great because I do not know any of the various automotive terms. They took the car in, listened for the noise, identified the problem and fixed the car (and then told me what it was). When the noise came back some 6-7 years later, I brought the car in, told them it was the same noise and they remembered exactly what I was talking about. Love it! Ive been coming here nearly 20 years. Our daughters both come here, as do many of my friends.

This was my first time using Environmental Automotive Services. I always get nervous when I bring my car to a new shop because I have been burned in the past. But since they had such good reviews I decided to take a chance and I am so glad that I did. My knowledge of vehicles is very limited and I felt that they listened to my poor attempts to explain what was going on with my car. Throughout the day I received calls to inform me on the status of my vehicle and what services they would need to fix my car. They provided me an email with an all over checklist of my car and suggested maintenance. At no point did they try to sell me on any other projects other than what I originally sought repairs for. They gave me the approximate costs of my service along with way giving me worst and best case scenarios. I felt like they were very transparent and easy to work with. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I actually didnt get any repairs done here and Im going to tell you why. My car had a weird episode where it was stalling repeatedly on the highway. I dropped it off at Environmental and they called me up the next day to inform me that they couldnt replicate the problem. They tried to get it to stall multiple times and the old bird was belligerently alive. They gave me suggestions of tune ups I could do or particular items that could be cleaned but I didnt feel pressured by them to get work done. I decided to get it home and I paid them for their time. I havent had any other stalling situations since. Environmental didnt have to be honest with me. They could have said that the car was stalling terribly and that I had to get a full tuneup/ new alternator. Instead, their honesty saved me hundreds of dollars and earned them a new customer.

I took my car into EAS for problems with the steering rack, something I thought would take a while and a lot of money to fix. EAS diagnosed the problem and had it fixed the next day at a very fair price. Also, while they had the wheels off they made some recommendations on fixing some other problems they found. Ordinarily I am wary about this when I take a car in for "A" and I get a call from the mechanic saying the car also needs "B", "C" and "D" fixed. But EASs recommendations made a lot of sense as they already had the effected parts dismantled for the problem I took it in for. They did a good job explaining what might be important to address and what could wait. Ive taken several cars to these guys over the years and have never had a problem.

I went to Environmental Auto because I had a Groupon for a $19.00 oil change. The Groupon that was offered was a lie. The oil change was $25.00. According to them, my "Oil Change" did not include the oil. I re-read the fine print in the ad and they lied. Oil was part of the groupon. Nevertheless, the next day after the oil change, I was driving to work and the bottom of my car fell off. They forgot to put the undercarriage back on my car. When I got there, dragging my car behind me, they had the nerve to say that It was like that when you brought it in yesterday." DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU LIKE BEING LIED TO AND A MECHANIC THAT DOESNT KNOW HOW TO GIVE AN OIL CHANGE AND WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR OWN MISTAKES.

Not everyone wants to take a vehicle for the air conditioning to be overhauled, but we did. Phil was professional and friendly from the start and made sure we were aware of any road bumps every step of the way. Since AC work is never easy, we did experience some of those road bumps, but options were laid out in a way that I was able to understand and make well informed decisions that resulted in ice cold AC. I was referred to EAS by my brother. I can see why Tony uses EAS when his vehicles need attention. This is a no bull establishment that puts the customer first no matter what. I am definitely going back with all 6 of our GMC vehicles. :)
