Folks, this is the first time I am writing a review for a business. I normally dont have time to do that. My experience at Luckys was so terrible that I decided to give them a review. I wish I could give them zero stars. I really hope this place goes out of business soon. Our car broke on a highway not too far from Luckys. We had it towed over there as this was the first place that came up on my search. We were told by Dee and his father that we need to leave the car as they dont have time to check the car today. Dee told us that an inspection would cost us $88. My brother and I made it clear to him that if there were any additional costs, we wanted them to call us first to let us know before they start working on the car. The next day, my brother gets a call from Johnny, who says the car has been fixed and we owe the shop $438. Needless to say, we were astonished. Not only did they not call us to let us know there would be additional $350 charge, but also they couldnt even properly explain what exactly they did on the car. When we came to the shop and explained Lucky, the owner, that we never got a call and that they were in violation of the uniform commercial code, he said that he doesnt care about any laws and that we either pay the bill or get out of his office. He even threatened us that if we leave without paying the bill, he would call the police and report robbery of our own car. After an hour or so argument with Lucky, we paid the bill just so we could take the car. But, we are in process of suing this guy and his shop. It is not just a matter of money, but also of principal. I value my time and if I am writing such a long review and in process of suing him, you can tell how horrendous my experience was with his repair shop. If my review saves even one person from dealing with Lucky, I will consider my time well spent. I really hope that no one will have to deal with what we did. Also, I would take the 5-star reviews with a grain of salt.

This was the worst experience ive ever had in dealing with a shop /mechanics luckeys great for oil change breaks little stuff but for a transmission hes horrible for one it was never my tranny in first place it was the transfer case but just from the test drive not even putting the car on the lift its transmission he said I said are you sure yes yes ok my Mdx was mking a winding noise and would lose power on hills but a cracked transfer case can also do that so I leave it and he takes tranny out he says the trasfer case is broke ok I tryed to tell you I thought that was it but he said trannys gear one and 2are ruined mind you it was fine taking off unless on a hill and I switched to manual all gears shifed think it was miss diagnosed and to cut things short I bought tranny and transfer case he put it in and long behold the transfer case breaks within 10 mile totally splits and he charged me to put in another one even tho his shop was the reason im sure I herad one of the guys saying isent that the tranny we droped think it was droped and ase cracked then gave out and broke althe way afrmter a few miles now it works fine after i paid another 380 for labor to put the case bk on thats under a 3 month warranty from a great salvage autodealler that dose a tone of mechanics parts for them even he said when I droped it off it was fine but ill replace it and long storry short we bought tranny 600 transfer case 250 labor 1000 and the suv is now making a vibrating sound when in park or stoped at a light use to run quite as can be smh ill never go bk or recommending anyone to this shop

After reading the previous review posted by Fayzullo I felt compelled to write a review of my own. I personally have used Luckys Auto repair multiple times for both of my cars AND I have sent MANY new customers to LUCKYS- ALL incredibly satisfied and happy! ALWAYS I have had amazing customer service at absolutely the lowest labor prices you could imagine. The work is exemplary . I resent that the review prior to this one questioning the integrity of Lucky or his staff. What Fayzullo is unaware of is that for more than 5 years Luckys Auto has given back to this diverse community in many ways. One of the most important ways us that hes always been FAIR AND HONEST! From time to time Luckys hosts a community cookout with a movie for the children. At no time has any mechanic at Luckys been "unable to explain " the work theyve done. Due to Fayzullos vague description of the work performed my guess is more like this CONSUMER was unable to understand what was explained to him. I WOULD TAKE FAYZULLOS REVIEW WITH A GRAIN OF SALT!

Fooled! I believed they had done a good job, but the week they fixed our vehicle it immediately had problems. I took it back to them and they told me it wasnt anything. They unhooked the air flow sensor an claimed it was unneeded. On top of that I paid for a distributor cap to be replaced but the distributor cap is rusted and the plug is old so I have to have another mechanic fix it. During the repairs and up until I had someone who knows older vehicles work on it I believed that they were great. Imagine my surprise that I still have to have work done and have things fixed that I paid them to fix. I read a bunch of reviews and thought I did my homework and that this was a good place to take my vehicle. Gosh was I fooled.

I have been maintaining a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer for personal use. The reason I maintain such a old SUV is to avoid spending too much on a new car. I happen to meet lucky through a casual interaction followed by a test repair just to see how good the shop is when it comes to repairing my used car. Later took car to Lucky Auto Repair for major repairs in my car and it has been an excellent service that too at a very cheap price. Most importantly he will fix only what is required and not prepare a laundry list of not required repairs. I would highly recommend people to take their cars to Lucky Auto Repair. Why not start with some small repairs and that will give you the confidence to be a repeat customer.

Ive had mechanics work on my cars all over MD, VA, PA, AZ, TX, etc., and Lucky is by far the finest mechanic bar none. Extremely friendly staff, very informative, they escort you you to your vehicle to point out if there is a problem and offer you choices of plans. Since I moved to Baltimore, Ive taken my 2012 Mazda CX-9 and 07 Odyssey van; each time received top-notch service. The waiting room is quite spartan and noisy and there is a small TV to kill time while waiting. If you are ISO comfort, try a car dealer and try those whopping repair prices! Otherwise, Luckys is the place to go for exceptional auto service. PS. This place even open on Sundays and has state inspection.
