DO NOT go to Aamco Transmissions for any work especially major work. My transmission broke down and needed to be rebuilt. I read previous reviews of Aamco Trasnmissions and Total Car Care around transmission related work and should have paid closer attention to the warnings. Many reviews said that after the work they started experiencing a lot of other issues with their cars and that’s exactly what has been going on. Ever since I took my car to them it has not felt right. NO where close to how it felt before. Immediately after picking up my car there was a violent vibration which they blamed on mounts. They told me I needed to replace 2 motor mounts so I went ahead and let them do that as well. BIG MISTAKE. Also find it funny that my transmission was removed completely from the car and the technician said I needed mounts and replaced two motor mounts but said nothing about the two transmission mounts that were cracked, worn and obviously needed to be replaced. So ALL the motor mounts were replaced and still there was vibration. What do they do? Blame me. I must have hit something that caused severe damage to the frame of the car although I never had any vibration at all before. They also broke the wheel lock key for my car during their work and decided not to tell me anything about that. I could only assume they were trying to hide that from me in hopes that I would overlook it or forget about it entirely. Luckily, I realized a few weeks later before I had some kind of emergency and was stuck on the side of road, unable to remove my wheel. When I called them about it they told me that it just happens sometimes and that I’m basically on my own for getting them replaced. Funny how I have never broken them before or on any of the many other cars I have worked on but as soon as I take it to them they just snap apparently. Im sure they did something they were not supposed to do and blamed something else so they wouldn’t have to pay me back.

2 days before Christmas, I went to the Ashley furniture store next door to the Aamco and when I went back to my car, the doors would not unlock. It seemed as though the battery inside my key wasnt working or fearfully, an even greater problem. I went to the dodge dealership next door and their service department was a mile away. As I walked back to my car I noticed the Aamco. The moment I walked in Chuck (the supervisor) welcomed me as if I was one of his regular customers. I told him that I may need a battery for my key and he immediately stopped what he was doing and asked one of the service guys to grab a small screw driver to open up my key. They did not have the battery I needed so he told me to go across the street and offered to hold on to my key. Once I came back and Chuck put in the new battery, my car door still wouldnt open. He then immediately sent one of the guys over to unlock my door. Chuck was very concerned about my situation and did everything he could to assist me. I was also concerned because I had to pick up my daughter from daycare. I needed a locksmith and although his service guys could unlock my car, Chuck thought it maybe better to have a locksmith as they maybe able to fix any electrical issues with my key. I preferred to use his service because I felt like I could trust them. I was completely blown away in this day and age by someone who genuinely wanted what was best for my vehicle, versus making some money. Within a matter of minutes, his service guy was able to unlock my car door, and all of a sudden, my key started working. If I ever have any issues with my car, I would most certainly go to this shop. I know that without a doubt, I will be given a fair and honest estimate for any services rendered, the work will be done properly, and they will provide excellent customer service. Thanks guys!!!

Horrible Service, would not recommend them to anyone. Had my Transmission rebuild in Jan, 2016 for $3,000 and in July, 2016 my Transmission totally went out it was still under warranty. Called AAMCO, they sent out a tow truck which was not covered in the warranty no matter what. After a few hours I called them to find out when theyre going to fix my car so I can get back on the road, they said "somebody put Engine Oil in your Transmission" and we dont cover that since is negligence. I told them that nobody messed with my Transmission and they even showed me some fluid on the napkin and would say anything to get out of the warranty. They caught me a deal for $2000 they would fix my Transmission, and I did fix it. After they fixed it, it would shift hard and in the winter Transmission would start getting stuck in Neutral while in drive (not often but still very concerning). When I brought the car back and told them about the issue, they did a test drive and assured me Transmission was fine. When I asked them "why does it get stuck in Neutral while driving, they were saying "they dont know what Im talking about, and they cant do nothing about it, mind you they specialize in Transmission". In the end I just went and bought another car and sold the one with Transmission problems. And when I asked is "the warranty transferable to another owner?" it took them 4 hours to come back with the answer. Horrible business, very rude staff and when they are nice is all fake". Wish I could at least get $4000 back. Please do yourselves a favor and dont go to this place. By the way the cars blue book value was $2200.

I took my car to this AAMCO and when I picked it up it was WORSE then when I brought it in!!! I would NEVER EVER recommend them to ANYONE!!! They are horrible!! UPDATE... After posting my review, I got an email from the owner/general manager...someone and wanted to "discuss" my review. He informed me that he wanted to help me resolve my issues with them. Well, after speaking with him AND having my certified Mercedes mechanic speak with him, I am even MORE pissed than I was before!!! I live in Chesapeake, Va and I understand that they call themselves trying to "help" me in my time of need however, they caused me further problems and arent even trying to help me rectify the problem they ENHANCED. I paid to have them do a transmission maintenance, replace the transmission plate and some gaskets only to find out that the maintenance was not ENTIRELY done AND it seems like they contaminated my transmission fluid when they put it BACK in!!! I am thoroughly PISSED OFF. Its now going to cost me almost $2000 on top of the $1100 I ALREADY paid them!!! And NOW they are NOT trying to help me offset the cost. NOT HAPPY AT ALL!!!

My car wouldnt shift gears to get above 40 mph. I first took it to glen Bernie transmissions and they said it wasnt a transmission issue, but instead an engine problem. I took it to Aamco and they said it was just a sensor and 2 hoses and replaced them. The day I picked it up, I was having the same issue. When I tried to get it back home (I was about an hour away) it nearly stopped on the highway and they would not offer complimentary towing. I managed to get it back to the shop and they thought it was just a faulty sensor. They replaced it. It seemed to work fine for two days then it completely stopped on the highway. The engine burned up. They said my engine failed because of an engine valve and the transmission was soon to follow. I dont have a car anymore. Notice, there were no transmission issues BEFORE I brought it to them.
