Staff didnt feel very welcoming when I initially walked in. When I did get someones attention, she was actually very very friendly. Why two stars? Because I wanted lipstick. I told the sales lady or consultant that I was only here to buy lipstick, but she didnt seem to hear me mention that, before telling me that if I was going to be in pictures at my event, I "HAVE to wear foundation" and "If youre going to be in pictures you HAVE to wear makeup!!" Not only was her sales pitch pushy and intimidating, she didnt seem to want to take "no" for an answer. When I told her I dont wear makeup, she pointed me to a chair and told me sit down so she can help me. Before I knew it, my whole face was done up in a full pageant mask: foundation, blush, mascara, lipstick, eyeshadow, etc. I felt ridiculous. I was feeling awkward, embarrassed, and taken advantage of. I was face raped. Maybe Im being dramatic, but I dont wear makeup, and Im a pretty shy person, and, to a shy person who is uncertain about makeup, all the information she was throwing at me was very intimidating! To top it all off? She noticed I was feeling awkward with every layer she painted on, but kept telling me "dont be scared! Dont worry! You just dont think youre beautiful!" I know she was complimenting me, but, the problem was I know Im beautiful, and this is why I dont wear makeup. Sure, I can spice things up if I want, but I dont, because I dont want to. Im already confident about my natural looks. When she finished, she let me know "its time to tell you all that I used on you, and for you to decide what you would like to purchase". Heres where I put my foot down, because I was already late for work, and only wanted LIPSTICK. Mouth paint for goodness sakes!! I said, "well, I only wanted to buy lipstick, and I only would like to spend $20 tops..." and her reply was, "OH! Well thats barely going to buy you anything but maybe lipgloss" and walked away. I tried to look for what I needed on the other side of the store, but theres so many different kinds and types and styles of EVERYTHING I dont know about, I just ran (walked) out of there as fast as possible so I could cry in my car. I understand she was just trying to help me, and make a sale in the process, just doing her job, but a little more customer connection and understanding probably would have went a long way that day. Sorry not sorry.

Depends on when you go, but usually the staff doesnt help much unless you CHASE them down. They stand there talking to one another as if youre nonexistent... then when you approach them, they act as if youre interrupting something important. Dont get me wrong, there are a few people who work here who are very helpful! But for most of them, when you ask for their help they act very stuck up... not something I enjoy encountering. In specific, short-medium length blonde haired female who I believe to be apart of management.... boy, does it seem like she hates her job. Oh and dont even think about returning anything, youll get death stares. I gave two stars because despite the majority, there are a few who are very approachable and helpful. I love Ulta and this is the closest one to me, so hopefully they either update their staff or consider a new method to their working habits.

Ulta is practicing the most aggressive racial profiling I’ve experienced. This has been an ongoing issue at the White Marsh store for a few years, thus, I stopped shopping there for awhile. A recent visit proved they are worse than ever. The security guard and staff seem antagonistic towards black customers. I was the only person of color in the store and the guard paced around me in circles like a shark while allowing non-black women to shop in peace. There was nothing subtle about this indignity. I’m gone for good this time. Folica, DermStore, and Target sell all the tools and cosmetics I require at better prices, without humiliation and with more convenience. I have too much self-respect to allow your blatant disrespect. Goodbye.

If I could give a zero I would. I was racially profiled by the security guard. There were tons of people in the store but he followed me through each sector and I even made eye contact with him when I was browsing through makeup areas. So disgusting. I am a psychiatric therapist and I make a pretty good salary. I have no reason to shoplift but I was profiled because Im a minority. I will never shop there again.

Nice Ulta store. Only negative is the brow services. My daughter came in with me to try and get brow services and it was about 15 minutes before the ladys shift was over. She told us she could not do her brows because she had to leave right away after her shift and could not go over her time. Well, she didnt leave until 10-15 minutes after her shift.

The least friendly Ulta store Ive ever been to. The consultants have great time chatting, while totally ignoring customers. No one says hi. Arent knowledgeable about the products they sell either. When finally one of them noticed us, she advised me to use anti-aging products when Im obviously too young for them lol. Get a better service at Walgreens.

I got my prom makeup and hair done, the makeup was too much and my eyebrows were unshaped. I was not satisfy with my makeup. My hair was beautiful, however i asked to make it tight, finished by 2, by 4 my fake eyelashes were falling off.and my hair was falling out.

This ULTA is very disorganized and finding products can get frustrating since many of the brands are mixed together. Its sizable and in a great shopping area, but the disheveled feel of this place can make the trip there not worth it.

Brittany is the best, she knows all about color and what will work with your hair type. She is fun and even with a salon I the middle of the store it is a relaxing experience.

They didnt have the brand I was looking for. I had to drive to white Marsh for it. I needed help but there wasnt anyone on the floor to help me nor did anyone ask.
