I use to have thick, lavish brows. Thanks to Usha, not anymore. Last year my eyebrow girl (not affiliated with Usha) got married and moved to Ireland. I spent almost a month looking for a replacement. Usha seemed like the best choice based off of online reviews. Theyre all supposed to be "brow experts!" At least, thats what I thought. When Usha did my brows I told her beforehand that I just wanted a clean up, nothing drastic. A cleanup normally refers to removing the stubble thats grown in since your last wax/thread. Perhaps Usha didnt understand what a clean up was, because she removed half my eyebrow. When I walked out of her "spa" my brows were the skinniest theyve been since high school. I waited three months for my brows to grow back, but in some places they are now spotty. I have since found a true brow expert and after a consultation she revealed that Usha damaged my hair follicle. Almost a year later I still dont have hair in those spots. I am very disgusted with Usha and the positive reviews I found online. Eyebrow threading requires patience and technique, you cant call yourself a brow expert just because you know how to pull hair. I would not recommend Usha for eyebrows. She should stick to hair removal for the arms and legs and avoid the face.

Based on the reviews, I was really excited to try out Ushas salon. I have now been twice and both experiences were less than impressive. The first time, Usha herself did my eyebrows, the second time it was some other woman. Honestly, their biggest fault is that they do not even take 30 seconds to listen to the customer and what they want done. When it is your turn, they slap you down in the chair and start chopping away before you can get a word in edge wise. Had they taken a few seconds to let me talk, they would have known that I did not want my brows to be too thin and have the ends taken off. It is so frustrating that there is no good eyebrow shaping place in Baltimore. If Usha and her staff are reading this, please take this little piece of constructive criticism: "ASK YOUR CUSTOMERS WHAT THEY HAVE IN MIND AND GIVE THEM A MINUTE TO EXPLAIN THEIR EXPECTATIONS!!!" It is clear that they primary goal is to get you in and out in record breaking time so they can move on to their next paying customer. Quite honestly, this is reflected in the eyebrows you leave with. I gave them 2 chances and do not plan to return. If anyone knows of a GOOD eyebrown shaping place that will actually let you speak for a moment, please let me know. Thank you!

My mistake was to get waxing done. I was okay with the threading. Nothing extraordinary but decent. Waxing> OMG! never again. It left me itching for the next two weeks. I have never experienced such itching with waxing before. Plus, their waxing lady was not professional. Instead of pulling from the roots the waxing ended up breaking my hairs. That could have been the reason I was itching for the next two weeks. I am sticking with the lady I used to get it done in Vienna, VA. Unfortunately I will have to drive 1 hour to get to her. This was my third and last chance here in Baltimore finding a beautician who could threading and do waxing for me. Given my experiences here in Baltimore, once a month for beauty treatment back in VA is way worth it than professionals in the area that cannot do a satisfying job. This review is done Novemeber 2011.

I went to Usha Salon and Day Spa after I was very disappointed with my eye brow threading at Apsara Day Spa (Catonsville). After reading good reviews about Usha (the owner), I was determined to get my eye brows done by her. SERVICE: The wait was an hour long for Usha! She is an old and experienced woman and her eye brow threading skills are good. In addition to the threading, I got my arms waxed from Pinal. I would not recommend this place for waxing. Pinal is very vernacular and odd! The girl at the front desk was very helpful. PRICE: I was charged 12$ for eyebrow threading, 15$ for armpit waxing and 35$ for full hand waxing. I found it pretty expensive. DECOR: The interior of the parlor is better than many other Indian parlors run by Indians. It seems much professional.

I had never tried threading before and was extremely apprehensive about trying it. I hadnt had my eyebrows groomed in about 4 months, besideds intermittent tweezing I did myself. I took a walk in appointment with Maya. She put me in the chair and went right to work. I was surprised how quickly it went and practically painless it was. The whole time I was terrified that when she sat me up I was not going to have eyebrows at all and that they were going to look terrible. When she sat me up I couldnt have been more pleased. They were perfectly even and sculpted to my face and brow bone. They were not too thin, which was my biggest worry. I was so pleased with Maya, I cant wait to go back. Definitely the best experience I could have had as a first timer!

When I first came into Ushas, I was greeted and pointed to one of the girls who does the threading. (I did not have an appointment) The whole process took about 5 minutes, was virtually painless, and I did not break out afterwards as I often have with waxing. The salon is beautiful, and the atmosphere is great. I was very pleased with the whole experience and with the staff, and I now go to Usha not only for threading, but for nails, facials and massges as well. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for excellent service at very reasonable prices.

Expensive but not bad. I had threading and waxing done here. I liked the wax used here although in some cases it could take 2 or 3 pulls to get everything out. It was painless and having sensitive skin I can say for sure that it is much better than regular wax. Threading is OK. I give it 3 stars. Cleanliness of the place (wax room, smock etc) - 4 Customer friendly - 3 Price - 2 (I think it is on the higher end; dont exactly like paying $25 for threading eyebrows and lips) Overall, I give it 3 stars.

Very disappointing experience for threading my eyebrows. Shape was no different from what I walked in with and even after 3 requests , beautician was disinterested in customer satisfaction. Also, beautician spoke on phone while threading and did not apply any astringent or lotion after the threading was half heartedly complete. Only good thing was, there was no wait time on Saturday morning. This was my first and will be my last visit to this salon.

usha is good but inconsistent. when she is focused on your eyebrows she does a good job, but then I went last friday evening when she was constantly interrupted by the loud women who seem to enjoy hanging around the salon. I could tell she was unfocused and she did a bad job - the brows are not identical. I dont think Ill be going back as Im quite frustrated. its hard to get the brows back in shape after someone, even just once, does them poorly.
