I called and asked a ball park on what it would cost to tack a pair of leather laces on a mans deck shoe. the man sounded depressed and like a zombie. I called and simply asked what it would cost to secure leather laces on a deck shoe that always becomes undone (like they have never been asked that before, and like a deck shoe is hard to picture). OOHH NO, I HAD to bring it IN because he had NNOOO IDEA. Hey, I used to be an estimator and go to peoples homes and sell gas fireplace and heater/boiler systems. I get the sales thing; but to be told.... they cannot give me a ballpark on such an obvious everyday clear cut thing, is insane and annoying. Mind games and being given a hard time, and made to feel uncomfortable in the first 3 min of getting to know a company is not the best business tactic. I have six grown children in the area, I just moved here and they have kids...and this guy is going to play mind games with a potential new customer/customers that could have come to his shop for 20 years, really?? I gave it one star, also, because the guy was really hard to even understand much less trying to be helpful and gracious on the phone. Of course....he knows.... without seeing the deck shoes, what tacking a leather shoe string on a typical deck shoe is. Deck shoes....all look and operate the same regardless of size and color. He could have said if its a typical deck shoe..... (that is good business) and still protects his concerns. Or tacking it with white string is more expensive than tacking it with black string (sarcasm intentional). Just be real and save the mind games. I told him I would not be in, with the shoes without a ball park. he was still a zombie. I remained polite through out. Some businesses just dont even WANT to thrive.

I dropped three off items to be repaired (Gucci tote bag, ferragamo sandal, and My sons Gucci Belt). I came back three days later only to be told that items were misplaced. Shoemaker asked me to "give him more time to locate" After another week, no items, no further explanations. I returned to the shop today with Baltimore County Police who suggested to file a Civil Lawsuit. I am currently in the process of doing such and have also contacted Better Business Bureau to put them on alert
