2 July 2017 update ***** I didnt visit today as they are closed, but I wanted to provide an update. Its a good thing its been nearly 2 years since my last update because theyve just been that good. The post office has really chosen outstanding, friendly people. So much so, I forgot how bad it used to be. Instinctively, I sometimes still inwardly cringe when I have to pick up a package, but their warm smiles and happy moods put me at ease. Their "nos" are pleasant (they at least look like they care) and firm. The owner, or at least someone higher up, went out of his way to help me the other day and he didnt at all seem put out of the way by it, even after-hours! The poor ladies have pretty consistent heavy deliveries for us, and despite that, they treat us respectfully and my husband will help them by walking into the back to pick up the package thats too heavy for them to carry. This is not the same post office I remember two years ago. My best post office experience (not here) was a lady who remembered me by my box number and was happy to see me, asking me how I was and looked forward to seeing me next time. She was amazing. This new group? Theyre getting there. Definitely. 4 November 2015 update **** They are DEFINITELY improving. Customer service is SO much better now. October 2015 * Ive noticed that the rude women Ive had the displeasure of working with have recently disappeared and new faces with better attitudes have shown up. Heres to hoping for a better experience here on out, but see below for what it was like. They arent customer friendly and once I actually heard an older staff member teaching a newer staff member to not care about customer concerns when there is nothing they can do about customer problems. Wow. All we want as customers is to see the least bit courtesy and concern. If you interrupt us and say "no" over and over again, we arent going to believe youve done all you could for us or that youre really listening. Also, sounding angry or yelling doesnt convince us that youre in charge or that you are confident--you sound like a donkey. Doesnt the Post Office train their employees in customer service? Ive also noticed that they seem to have trouble hearing numbers. No matter how many different ways I say it, they always hear my box number incorrectly and the tone of voice was never mind, I felt like they treated me as though I were the idiot. Seriously, Ive never been so frustrated like this. One day I had a big box come in that they had to roll in on a cart. They didnt offer so I asked if I could borrow the cart--if they needed a cart to drag the thing, why wouldnt I, being of similar stature? The lady barked at me to make sure I return the cart. I didnt think much of it until another customer leaned over and whispered her condolences and muttered about the consistently poor customer service.

This place.... Where to even begin.... Dropped off a package and days later it still hasnt been scanned. I call to ask why and the first woman I spoke to talked to me like I was an autistic five year old. Like as if Im supposed to know every minuet detail of the postal service. But still couldnt give me an answer as to where my package was and why it wasnt scanned. Second lady I spoke to a couple days later (package still not scanned) told me its "not required theyll get scanned at all" and I asked about the package getting there in two days since I did pay extra for 2 day shipping to which she also told me was not a requirement or guarantee. Sounds like no one wants to do their damn job. And no matter who you talk to or what you say, you are literally the biggest waste of their precious time and vocal chords. I would literally rather WALK my package from Maryland to Michigan then deal with these people again

Mental note for the public: Make the attempt to never mail anything out by truck in December & early January. If you select any mailing process other than priority mail, it WILL NOT BE DELIVERED ON TIME. This being my first time, I selected the usual 5 day mailing process & it took a month & plus to be delivered on time. It went back & forth to some processing office in NC twice, then came back to Capitol Heights, MD & is now in transit nowhere. I spoke to the manager & the customer service of the Severna Park post office & they were all clueless as to any reasons of the discrepancy & delays. No one deserves the position of manager or an employee of a post office if they let their customers & themselves waste time & money without reason. Extremely disappointing. Be prepared.

Customer service is still pretty terrible. Matter of fact, its always been terrible since I can remember. The same ladies that have been working there are never happy or helpful at all. They could seriously not care less. Update: 6/20/17 Yeah this place is still the worst place. I missed a package so I went in to the post office and signed a slip asking them to deliver the next day. Well the next day comes by and I get the same slip saying the same thing.... So I go back the post office and wait 45 minutes while the lady at the front told me "someone" was looking for it. After waiting all that time, she finally tells me that its still on the truck and to come back again the next day..... This place is gonna give me cancer

Miserable. The staff is very unfriendly and theyre content with explaining the rules and what you cant do over helping you. Unless u have a 2 minute drop off I recommend going anywhere else. I watched the guy infront of me get his passport application terminated because the staff wouldnt take the time to learn the procedures for processing a peace corp (or something else passport) and then the lady just pawned him off on another employee two weeks later. I strongly just recommend going to another post office the personnel here obviously just want a paycheck.

Yet again I returned from vacation to a mail box crammed full of mangled mail after placing a hold on delivery. This has happened four of the last six times I have had to leave town. Calling achieves nothing because the staff is so irritable and unhelpful. But I am stuck with using this PO. This is one of the reasons the Post Office is in financial ruins. I ALWAYS ship with another carrier when I have a choice because of the utterly poor service of this office.

All post offices are a joke. This one has to be the worst I have ever dealt with. First they show a package delivered, then the driver himself tells me that he never delivered anything. Then they say theyre looking for it. If you are ordering something, and its supposed to be delivered by this post office.....really good chance you may not get it. I didnt even want to give them one star, but it wont let me post unless I give them at least one.

the worst place of earth, the most terrible employees. ALMOST ALWAYS, without mistake they would mis-deliver our mail to the neighbors and we would get random mail as well. Multiple request to be careful about the sorting mail are left ignored by USPS employees. Note, we live in SFH, not apartment building... how hard you should try to mess up the delivery? I dont think the issue will ever be resolved!!!!
