I <3 head. My head that is. I am a color addict. skin & hair. I recently made the decision to simplify my life in as many ways as possible. I knew this mean giving up the box job dyes. You see , I started dying my hair 15 years ago. purely to p@!s off my , now ex husband. I took my hair from a gorgeous dark golden blonde to a strawberry reddish color, copper penny, sangria, eventually landing on burgandy, cherry cola.. the brighter the better. I was always chasing that colored unicorn. every 2 weeks touching up roots to cover my dirty little blonde secret. eventually the red became tiresome and I said.. "id look hot with black hair" well we all know once you go black... youll never see your natural color again. Im pleased to tell you thats not entirely true. I went to A Second Glance for 2 reasons : A. my current hairdresser , being the honest broad she is .. told me .. "no way am i comfortable trying to remove 15 yrs of dye off your head , HON" and #2 ( you see what i did there ? A & 2 ? clever) anyway second reason is Amy Nicholls, she is not only a phenomenal tattoo artist at Tattooed Heart Studios in Glen Burnie, MD.. but she is a phenomenal hair stylist. Who better to deal with color than someone submerged in art and colors? i let my roots for for 3 months. it was torture. I grew a set of balls and contacted the salon for an appointment. I mentally prepared myself to come out of the salon with a bob. I had hair to the middle of bra strap on my back. I figured , better to cut it now than later. Im happy to report that after 8 minutes of carefully applied bleach, the black was lifted from my hair. Holly assisted Amy in the application. These women are MAGICAL! Amy was able to match my hair to the roots, giving me back my original color. After the color was on , and I was in shock and awe.. she kicked it up a notch with a Keratin treatment that has left my hair feeling like it was never even touched by chemicals. I am here to tell you folks, there is hope. You do not have to be a slave to the box dye. Dont let dirty little secrets shame you ! SET YOURSELF FREE!!!! and go see Amy & the rest of the incredibly friendly staff @ A Second Glance . hug and kisses . Gizzard

I have been going here for years now at this point and I absolutely love it. I was just there about two weeks ago to get a major haircut and colour and have been meaning to write this review. The girl who did my hair was Kira and she did an absolutely fantastic job. The atmosphere is comforting and everyone is super friendly. I was there for most of the morning, as Ron and Kira tried to get my colour just the way I wanted it. In the end, I didnt go as light but Im happy I didnt. Kira did an amazing job with the colour and a fantastic job with the cut. It can be super edgy, but I can also tone it down to make it sweet and I love the layers in my hair. She did an awesome job realizing exactly what I wanted and making it look good for my skin tone and face structure. I highly recommend going here, they always make sure youre feeling comfortable and I havent been anywhere else to get my hair done because I just love the high amount of quality I get from A Second Glance Salon. I tell my friends about this place all the time, but sadly they all live to far away to try it out. But give this place a try if you havent - Im sure youll love it and want to go back.

I have been a customer for at least 8 years now and love this salon. The stylists are friendly and talented. I like their price scale - with less experienced stylists giving less expensive haircuts. The no tipping policy is especially appreciated. I do recommend going elsewhere for pedicures, they can be pricey here, but manicures are reasonable, as are massages. Their own unique Second Glance products are wonderful and reasonably priced. My sisters wedding party had their hair done here for her wedding and they pulled it off seamlessly - and everyone looked gorgeous. I would most definitely recommend them for weddings and formal events such as prom. My only small grievance with this salon is that they refused to donate a gift certificate for a fundraiser that I was planning, even though I had been a faithful customer for many years. That has been my only disappointment. Oh, and be very careful when exiting the parking lot!! Bit of a dangerous place to make a left turn out of. Ask for master stylist Heather or the owner Ron - they will make you look beautiful!

I have always been pretty nervous about letting anyone cut or color my hair....this comes from being forced to keep my hair short most of my youth. The staff at A Second Glance listen to what you say and do what you ask. They are extremely talented professionals and do their best to make you experience outstanding. Everyone at A Second Glance is trained to give you the same experience. You can feel comfortable working with anyone there. If you are looking for a great place to get your hair cut, colored or pampered, if you want an amazing massage, if you want the most professional experience around....call A Second Glance. I know this sounds like a commerical but really, Ive looked and looked for this type of salon and FINALLY... I found it! AND....at a reasonable price! What more could you want!

Amazing Salon! I used to drive 45 minutes to this salon for many years. The staff are wonderful and its almost like a second family. You can tell they are always taking classes to keep up on the latest styles and trends. They have great colors too! Gotta love my red ;) They listen to what you would like and offer advice when needed. No matter who you choose-apprentice, stylist, sr. stylist, etc-you wont be disappointed. The staff all help each other out and you are given 100% of their attention. Ive been seeing Amy for years and I would highly recommend, but honestly you cant go wrong with anyone there. Been going to A Second Glance Salon for over 15 years. When you find a good place, you just keep going back! All the good comments from the other reviewers are on target. Every visit to ASG is an experience, and a well-kept secret. The hot towel, the massage, the excellent client service -- all a total team effort. You just cant beat it. Everyone is there to make your experience perfect. Nice people, experienced at their craft, well run and managed business, completely customer/client-oriented. As an aspiring small business owner, I love the "Charge fairly for time, experience, and materials" mentality- I support local and I believe in paying people what theyre worth, not having my stylist try to butter me up for the biggest tip! My experience here was better than the big salons and day spas in my area- and the cost was half. I believe both the business and the client are getting their moneys worth. I will be recommending them to my family and friends; A Second Glance has a happy customer for life.
