This place was a nightmare. On top of the rudeness of the staff, who are liable to laugh at you rather than help you, this place attempted to charge me for having their van our for 3 days when I had it out for less than one! When I tried to call them to tell them there had been a mistake their phone lines were never picked up during normal business hours. Therefore, it seemed like I had no recourse until I called corporate 3 times and finally talked to a complaint person on the corporate level. Surprisingly, the manager of the Takoma store called me within 10 minutes. If he was just sitting back there reading his email why didnt he pick up the phones for 3 days straight? He instantly corrected the charge but after days of my wasted time and stress. This place is truly poorly managed and personnel are in DESPERATE need of training in basic customer skills and fact checking. If you go here expect to be mistreated and unappreciated. It is a shame that place like this can stay in business simply because the need for affordable moving is so high in this area. Just because something is affordable does not mean that a place cant be an efficient and courteous establishment.

Awful customer (dis)service. I felt totally disrespected,devalued and violated. They have a coldness towards customers and an absolute unwillingness to establish good will. They overcharged me for gas and refused to discuss it. Chris the "manager" was very coy in telling me I should have been there to check the truck in. Well the night drop is a convience that Uhaul provides-Is it too much to expect that their employees will be fair, honest and scrupulous in the absence of a customer standing over them-apparently it is not business saavy to have some decent principles when dealing with customers.Uhaul and its agents are unscrupulous and I wish I had taken heed to the reviews that I read before going to them because the exact same things that other customers expressed is what happen to me. It is the way they operate so be careful-sometimes its better to pay a little more to a company that treats you with respect.

This is the worse uhaul service on this earth. They are very rude and disrespectful. The young lady who is at the cash registor is rude. I ordered my equipment on line, I came in gave my information and went outside and got in my truck to go where I needed to go. When I got to my destination, I opened the back of the truck and none of the equipment I had ordered was in the truck. I was low on time so I could not go back and get the tools. When I dropped the truck back off and complained they said they would not bill me for the stuff that was not in the truck. The next day I get the bill and they had still billed me for the stuff I never recieved. I had to call them 3 times before it was taken off my bill. Do not go here, very rude people, very bad service, and very dishonest!!!!

Wow. 0 stars. NEGATIVE start! I knew their service was terrible, but this is an all-time low. Called my local store. Put on hold for 15 minutes. Called back. Was passed to a service center. Asked to speak to a supervisor. Was passed to another low-level customer service representative. Requested a copy of the transcript of the call (per voice message). Was put on hold for 30 minutes and finally hung up. Called back the local store, again picked up by customer service (Jessica). Asked to speak to a supervisor. Was disconnected. Went to online chat. Stated by issue and said I was taking a picture of conversation, and chat was immediately ended! Wow. Why do they even bother?!?!?

The manager named Lawrence was terribly rude to me and my wife when we went to get a hitch put on our car. We had paid online and when we went to pick up the car - the manager said to go wait in line to finish paying. The line was out the door at that point, with a 20 minute wait at least. The worker who had put on our hitch was helpful and said he could take care of us - which was simply electronically signing a keypad. When Lawrence the manager saw this, he started yelling at the worker and then started yelling at me and my wife. We took our keys and drove off, but he was still yelling at us as we were driving off.

Horrible experience. I will never again rent from uhaul. Getting the truck was a huge pain, the customer service was terrible and the area is straight ghetto. When we got in the truck it smelled like actual dog poop. Once we turned in the truck we looked at the receipt they sent us and they charged us for gas, when we had filled up less than a mile from the facility. They didnt even tell us they were going to, just tried to slip it under our noses. Everyone there is dishonest and rude. Do not go here, I would much rather spend twice as much money then give them anything.

Although conveniently located and apparently well-stocked with supplies, this U-Haul location is nevertheless a nightmare when it comes to customer service and treating human beings with dignity. Never in a million years did I expect to be treated like dirt for merely renting a vehicle and wanting to pay in cash as opposed to using a credit card. If you make a reservation here, think twice and have a backup plan, because as far as I could tell this location and its staff could make the moving experience, which is already a stressful one, into something much worse.

Fairly incompetent. Was rented a trailer with a busted mount tongue AND misaligned double axles. They really try hard to keep you from checking yourself. Always busy and difficult to get into and out of. Narrow streets whether youre headed into City or out to MD. Staff has been angry more often than nice, and while everyone can have a bad day. Consistency and variety of frustrated and angry staff is not a good way to start or end a move. Day labor is available in the area if you need some extra hands, and their are nearby gas stations to top off the tank.

Renting/Returning my 10 truck was by far the easiest part of my move. I made a reservation online, did the express check in online, waited probably 20 minutes in line (it was packed), got the truck (which is surprisingly easy to drive), loaded it, unloaded it, and returned it in probably 3 minutes. Everyone at the U Haul place was courteous, and I really thank them for taking what could be a huge stress and turning it into something efficient and painless. Do you homework before hand, I highly recommend the express check in, and all will be well.

I reserved a truck a week in advance of pick-up. My family drove from Brooklyn, NY at 5am to this location to pick up the truck and it was not there. I had the correct reservation information and even the corporate office did not allow us to get the last truck at the location because the specific truck I reserved was not there. We ended up driving to another location to pick up the truck. I was extremely disappointed and caution everyone with using the service. A reservation does not ensure a truck with U-haul.
