I passed Extra Space Storage many times while driving on I-83. Ive lived in Pennsylvania for the last seven years, moving here from Ohio. I recently sold my home, on the Shrewsbury/Stewartstown line and had a new one built across the street. My old home is a 3-bedroom house, with one of the bedrooms used as a storage room. Its been that way since I bought the home. Now that I am moved into my new home, I already have my old home sold, but have to remove the remaining boxes and junk from that extra bedroom. I checked-out all the storage facilities in Shrewsbury and Stewartstown, but none of them had any small storage units available. I didnt want to drive as far as York to find a storage facility and then I remembered Extra Space Storage at the Leader Heights exit off of I-83. I Googled the website and called to inquire about small storage unit availability. I lucked-out and secured a 5x5 unit for just the right price. The representative from the corporate office that I spoke to waived the one-time registration fee, since I made an appointment to visit the location that day to secure the unit. After providing my telephone number and e-mail address, I terminated the telephone call. Almost immediately, I received a call from Troy Brayton, the Store Manager, who was extremely friendly and professional. He was very flexible with accommodating my scheduled visit and met with me within 25 minutes. Upon arrival, I met with Troy who was courteous, professional, and friendly even though he was having an extremely busy day with high-pressure. He did not allow his other daily tasks affect my visit or business transaction. I would not have known about his busy day if it werent for our friendly conversation during my site visit. Before obtaining any information from me, he showed me the unit and allowed me to place my lock on the unit. Previously, he put a sticker on my lock and indicated to me that the staff checks the locks on a daily basis to ensure the stickers are on the locks and that the locks have not been tampered with. He said that I would receive a telephone call immediately if the sticker was removed or the lock appeared to have been tampered with or removed. The facility is monitored by cameras and has a security gate. We proceeded to the office and completed the paperwork electronically. One issue that was not discussed on the telephone or with Troy prior to my arrival was that the site requires mandatory insurance on the unit available at a minimal cost of $10/month for $2,000 coverage through the company or you can get your own coverage through your homeowners policy. I thought this was slightly deceptive, but the cost of the unit and the insurance cost was still cheaper than other alternatives so it didnt prevent me from securing the unit. Overall I am happy with my experience with Extra Space Storage. I think Troy Brayton is an excellent example of what every company should look for in a frontline company representative.

Like many people who end up on Storage Wars, we started moving into a Leaders Heights Road ExtraSpace large storage unit and quickly added a second, smaller climate controlled space and then a third to segregate my daughters belongings over the summer before her freshman year at college. We expected to be there no longer than the two months we got for free by signing up on line. We got my daughters stuff out before the end of the two months, but ended up in the other two for 16 months. Steve was a great resource - helping us out every step of the way and always available for questions and advice. The site is clean, well-lit and I never gave a second thought to sending my daughter out there to pick up and drop off things. In fact, we have an old car stored for her at an ExtraSpace site convenient to her college in Philly. When it came time to move out (finally), Steve and his crew were there to make it quick and painless to get our movers in, and get the truck out of a tight space. Above and beyond the level of service that would be adequate - these guys are great!

The facility is kept very clean and the storage units are cleaned out after each rental. The facility is located in a secure location and has many safety features built into the facility to ensure your belongings are kept safe. The staff is very friendly and helpful making the renting experience an enjoyable one. There are many storage units of varying size available to meet your storage needs. The price of renting was also very reasonable for the space and service received. The facility also offers truck rentals and has many packaging supplies for sale in the main office making it a convenient one-stop-shop for all of your storage and moving needs.

Extra Space Storage is awesome in more ways than just storage. I needed a space with the same day notice and got it! The phone customer service as well as the manager at Leaders Heights were so courteous and helpful. The facility is secure, clean and accessible. I rented last week a unit and found out that I needed a bigger size then I had. Went to the site and Troy helped me get into a bigger unit. While talking with Troy I explained that my help decided not to help me so Troy went out of his way to come help lift the heavy items with me. He also went and help me with some other heavy items that I could not manage by myself. I will recommend this site to anyone. I also made a friend this day.

We loved the experience we had with this location of Extra Space Storage. They were friendly, were very helpful and were honest with us as well. We thought the storage units were kept very clean and we loved the fact that there were gates to help protect our stuff.
