Some of the staff is nice, friendly and professional but the quality of services is just plain poor. Ive tried to politely speak with management through the year and a half that Ive visited here but havent gotten anything but "deer in the headlights" look from management. Review - If your a busy person and you tend to make hair appointments a day or two before, you WILL get dirty looks from previous stylists that youve worked with. (I happily go to Flaunt now) If you discuss getting hair extensions... you will be given a stylist that will scoff if you ask about any other types of extensions that she obviously is too good for and she will tell you that "someone else does those...." and waves a hand in your face. (Flaunt again for hair extensions) If you get waxing you have either large patches left on your legs or you get screamed at by the old black haired northern European lady to "LAY BACK DOWN!!" (I decided to never go back and got laser hair removal done at Belcara Health) Ive gotten a facial done here and had almost no extractions done although I specifically asked for it. Although they massaged my hands for most of the time there. (I go to Balcara Health for Facials now) They do not offer a gel nail services but offer old school shellac..... which of course actually cost more than gel and starts to bubble and peel off within a week. (I go to QQ nails and spa on 36th. Cheaper and lasts much longer) The only shining quality in the place is Alexis for my eye lashes. And Miss Nay for massages.

If you are wondering who to make your appointment with, ask the girls at the front desk when you call to make an appointment to reccommend someone for you. I started getting a Brazilian a year ago and was reffered to Llyric by a receptionist. I have refferred at least 3 friends to her, all of which decided to stay with her. She makes you feel very comfortable and is very friendly and easy going to talk to, in addition to being amazing fast and clean. For haircuts, I go to Lauren, who has always been a very honest haircutter, something I truely value. When I decided to get the "posh" haircut a while back, she let me know in advance that the upkeep was not simple and really took the time to go through all the blowdrying/straightening techniques i needed to know. Her sister, Danielle, is also really great -- although she is usually booked well in advance, so if you want to get in with her, make sure you do not need a haircut within the next couple of weeks -- plan in advance! i would not say the salon staff is the most FRIENDLY salon; however, i go for the service and like to stick with people i trust and know to do a great job. you definately arent neglected there, but i have been treated with more respect at other places as a well paying customer.

About Faces is by far the nicest and most professional salon and day spa in the Baltimore Area. I have been going to the Canton location for years and have always been very happy with my color and service. Olga is an exceptional colorist and always makes me feel beautiful when I leave, Tiara gives amazing shampoos, and the front desk has been nothing but nice and welcoming whenever I walk through the door. In addition to the great services, About Faces sells Bumble & Bumble, Kerastase, and Oribe shampoo, Skinceuticals skincare, and Molton Brown body wash...all of my favorite products in one place!! I have been to many many salons in my almost 30 years, and About Faces is definitely the cleanest, nicest, and most posh atmosphere! Thank god there is one salon in the area that has that NYC/high class feel in Baltimore!

Amazing facility with great view...........Seriously over priced for the quality of services. My husband bought me a (guilt) gift certificate for $260 which I used for a body wrap and facial. The body wrap was done in a VERY noisy steam chamber, it consisted of nothing more than being smeared with lotion and encapsulated in a machine. All I could focus on was the sound of water draining -like a toilet being flushed constantly! NOT to relaxing. That was followed by a ridiculously expensive facial ($160). Even if Id only paid $80 for it I would have still described it as just OK, nothing special. The woman who gave me the facial was very pushy trying to get me to buy the products which were very expensive (100s of dollars.) Overall a very dissapointing experience - but great views of downtown!

AMAZING formal hairstyling and make-up!! I came here for my junior prom and 2 senior proms for formal hairstyling and make-up and have been so happy and pleased with my services! Marty is a FABULOUS hairstylist and her up-dos are absolutely incredible--she is truly a talented artist. My up-do looked wonderful and stayed intact throughout the entire night! I gave her a picture of the up-do to go off of and she came through 110%. Natalia is amazing at make-up and really knows how to enhance the right parts of your face and work around complimenting your dress/outfit for whatever formal occasion youre going to. Also, the airbrush spray tan services are superb. SO pleased and impressed with this salon!!

I called to schedule an appointment for a massage for my birthday at the kennilworth about faces after receiving poor customer service on the phone at the canton location. The lady who answered the phone was very helpful and kind to the fact that this was my first time scheduling an appointment. She scheduled me with Dequan. Upon arrival, all of the staff were very kind and inviting, helping me feel at ease from being nervous not knowing what to expect because I was a first timer. Dequan was very nice and made me feel comfortable as well. The massage was spectacular and I definitely plan to return to this location again, I will also be referring this location and Dequan to my friends and family.

I can only assume that the competition is taking pot-shots at AF, because my experience over a period of many years is completely different (from that of the negative reviewers). Mona is a widely recognized aesthetician who performs amazing facials and related services for all skin types. Del-Mia gives outstanding mani-/pedis, amongst her range of skills. Ohsoon is one of the best massage therapists Ive ever been to. There are many other excellent providers at AF Towson as well, there just isnt the space to name them all. I would recommend their service to anyone -- and btw, the schedulers are great, too.

I have been a fairly loyal customer to both the Canton and Towson locations. I typically found that once I was past the reception area my experience was positive. I put up with it because I adored my stylist. Recently, I had my third incident with a curt and snotty scheduler and I have decided to take my business elsewhere. Take my advice and dont waste your time or money. Its such a disappointment to find good technicians, but I cant tolerate being treated so rudely when Im dropping $60 or $100 for a service.

I got a gel manicure for $52 dollars. One of my nails chipped the moment I got home and another one chipped the next day. I was very unhappy with this quality. I have gotten plenty of gel manicures from other places for $30 dollars that lasted well over a week. About Faces gel manicure was not only considerably more expensive, but was also lesser quality and did not hold up well at all.
