0 stars if possible This company was contracted for a military move from Baltimore to Florida. My husband has been in the military for > 25 years and this was the ABSOLUTE WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE that he has ever had. From beginning to end, it was an absolute disaster. The people who did the packing, did not bring enough inventory stickers, and the ones that they brought were from 2 different sets of stickers, so nothing was in any discernible numerical order. Many things were not even numbered by them. We had some boxes clearly labeled "please repack" because they werent packed with any sort of protection....they just taped up the boxes without putting any protection in them. On the day that the truck was to come at 7-8 AM, a partial crew without a truck showed up at 11AM. The rest of the crew showed up at 2PM. They had no inventory sheets with them, so we had to make our own by hand. They had no tools with them to take apart our beds/cribs/etc, so we had to find our tools and unpack them. The original crew had to leave at 5PM, so off they went with a small truck of our stuff. A bigger truck showed up at about 5PM and they were at our house until about midnight, everything still didnt fit into the truck. My husband wound up taking apart alot of the furniture and moving stuff out of the house himself to help them, otherwise they would have been there even later. A truck was supposed to come the next day at 8AM to get the rest of our stuff...didnt show up until 11AM. When they delivered our stuff in Florida, we found out very late in the day, and by the actual moving crew (not the manager of 1800packrat), that not all of our stuff made it onto the delivery truck. The second truck showed up at about 5PM two days later. As we are unpacking, we realize that they have applied moving tape to our expensive wood furniture (which causes paint to come off when removed), they dumped our dresser drawer contents into the bottom of all of our wardrobe boxes, making the boxes ridiculously heavy. There were footprints on our upholstered furniture. Nothing was wrapped in moving blankets, they wrapped very heavy glass pieces and plasma screen TVs with a broken down picture box, essentially leaving it unprotected. They lost a very expensive piece of our dining room table (cant just buy the piece separately, have to buy new table) as well as some other pieces of furniture. I can go on an on and on about how bad this company is. The communication between the manager, Ron and the movers to us was absolutely deplorable. DONT EVER USE THIS COMPANY. THEY SHOULD NOT BE IN THE MOVING BUSINESS

I would give these guys 0 stars if possible. They were contracted to complete my military move when I moved to Maryland, and the service was exceptionally poor. To begin with, the guys who showed up to do the delivery were clearly just guys hired off the street. They talked about how they dont do this all the time and how they were getting paid in cash. They were not familiar with any of the paperwork, could not find an inventory to provide me with, and could not tell me how to fill out the paperwork. They were careless with my things and dropped things more than once. On top of that, my shipment was uncrated without my knowledge or permission before delivery. This is absolutely not supposed to be done. I watched the movers at origin seal up 4 crates: 2 were to be delivered to my apartment and were labeled as such, and 2 were to be delivered to my storage unit, also labeled. All my paperwork supported these 2 separate deliveries. However, when the destination movers showed up at my apartment in Maryland, there were no crates. It was just a rented truck with my stuff all shoved in it. This made it much more difficult to determine which boxes were supposed to go up to my apartment and which were supposed to go to storage. On top of that, there were 3 large items missing from my delivery: my snowboard, my 6 aluminum ladder, and my skimboard. I was never provided with an inventory to check things off as they came off the truck, and so I did not notice these things were missing until later. Lastly, the movers did not unpack anything, unwrap any furniture, or take away any trash from the apartment delivery. I did not waive unpacking and trash take-out. They simply had no idea what the requirements were and were in a hurry to finish at the apartment and move on to the storage unit because they did not arrive at my apartment until 5:30pm (their arrival window was 1-3pm). Needless to say, we were at the storage unit late, well past dark. I have no idea if Packrat/Forward Relocation employs real movers or if they always hire guys off the street; in either case, some real training (or any training at all) is definitely required. For my next move, I am definitely listing this company as one that should not be contracted for my move.

They are lucky that they are getting 1 star since zero stars is not an option. I moved for work and this company was subcontracted to deliver my goods. On the first try, they were missing about 1/3 of my stuff. They promised to go back to the warehouse and find my stuff, then call me to reschedule. After waiting around all morning, we called them in the afternoon and they had no clue what I was talking about. They figured it out, and two days later delivered the rest minus about $2000 worth of stuff. Again, they said theyre go back and call me. Again, I waited around all morning, and when I called they had no clue what I was talking about. After waiting a few more days, we called again and asked if they lost our stuff, and they said yes. After going through a third-party claims service to get reimbursed, I was shown a Loss/Damage-at-Delivery form that this company used to show that I did not claim any losses at delivery. This form had my signature forged. This company is terrible at their jobs, and are fraudulent.

800 Pack Rats picked up 2 PODS in FL 7/19. We were told it would take 10 business days for delivery in Alexandria, VA. Delivery could be sooner but guaranteed by 8/3. We received a call at 0715 confirming delivery of POD #1 for 0700. When the driver realized it was 0715 he said "it will definitely be delivered while its daylight." We got no call on POD #2. My wife called at 1230, after POD #1 was delivered, for an update on POD #2. Response was "it is scheduled for delivery today". It is now 1807, all of our moving help went home 2 hours ago, after waiting for 2 hours. Driver called and said hes stuck in traffic and will hopefully be here in 30 minutes. Great I can unload our 16ft POD by myself! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

A nightmare start to finish. DO NOT USE pack rats unless you want all of your belongings destroyed.
