Short review – Ken and Absolute Precision did an outstanding job switching us over from oil to natural gas, and I’d highly recommend them to anyone considering having this done. He worked with us the whole way through dealing with National Grid, Mass Save for the HEAT loan, and installing the right equipment. As you can see from all his 5-star reviews, Ken and Absolute Precision are the best in the business. Longish review – When my wife and I decided to buy our house in Woburn, we had no idea the difficulty that we would face in having the oil-to-gas conversion done (dealing with National Grid and the City of Woburn itself). First, we needed to have a plumber come to our home and provide an estimate that would then be submitted to National Grid (to have them install the gas line), but with a deadline of only a few days. Among the estimates that we received, Absolute Precision wasn’t the best or worst price, but I chose them to do the work because I could tell right away that Ken was a friendly and honest person. He worked with us the whole way as we waited for National Grid to install the gas line (a multi-month long headache fit for a different discussion than this review) and helped us to secure the HEAT loan from Mass Save. Once the gas line was installed, it took Ken about 2 weeks to have all the gas equipment installed, inspected, and switched on. When he was done, the only sign that he had been there was the installation of the beautiful new gas equipment and removal of the ancient oil equipment (no garbage or dirt of any kind left behind). Ken also recommended a chimney sweep that was able to come to my home within two days of me calling him and did a great job at a great price (unlike other chimney sweeps who were more expensive and had weeks-long waiting lists). I’m sure that if/when I need other plumbing work done, I will call Ken and Absolute Precision first.

Update--- A great experience - again. They did such a great job on my heating system, that I called them again for my bathroom. Ken and his crew came over to install a Saniflo toilet and sink into a basement bathroom. They also came over to install radiators into our basement area and replace some of my old copper pipes that had begun to leak. They came in and got right to work and cleaned up after each day. Any questions they had were brought up right away and they even were able to work around a few design changes from our end. Their price seemed very reasonable and the quality of their work absolutely shows. I will definitely be calling them when my AC system needs to be replaced! We wanted our old (40+ year) boiler replaced. It was still working so we knew we could get a good rebate from MassSave. Called Ken up and he went over our options. We chose him because we found the price to be one of the best, and the quote he provided was detailed. Ken helped us with getting a HeatLoan by putting us in touch with the right people. Ken and his crew came and replaced our boiler with an new efficient Alpine Boiler which works great. It is very quiet and takes up so much less space than the old one before. We also got a new indirect water heater installed which will also help save us money. I noticed that some of my pipes were leaking - I decided to have Ken also update the pipes in my house as I planned on finishing my basement. Ken and his team were great. They came in and got right o work. They were very friendly and were very tidy. The finished product looks amazing and it takes up so much less space than before. They took a video of their work and I am excited to see how it came out. I will definitely be having them come back for additional further work I need done and would recommend them to anyone who needed Heating or Plumbing work done.

* Re-plumbed the house plumbing so the pipes in the foundation/concrete were no longer in use. * Re-plumbed the water meter where it comes into the house so that the town could properly install a new meter. * Added a utility sink in the basement. The whole process was very good. Ken came to evaluate our needs. He spent a good deal of time with me discussing what I was trying to achieve and reviewing options. We did not have to pay for his time and as promised, a few days later he provided a quote. The quote was very detailed and described the plan we had arrived at from his onsite visit. We had asked for different parts of work to be quoted separately because we werent sure we were going to do all the work at once and the quote reflected that request. Once we moved forward and scheduled the work, Ken and his team arrived when expected and worked diligently to complete the work quickly. They cleaned up after themselves and were willing to help me prepare the worksite (moving some heavy objects and the like) without complaint. One thing in particular that I appreciated was Kens willingness to adapt to some less than ideal circumstances and to some changes to the plan. For instance, we werent able to schedule the town to replace the water meter as expected which meant a little more work for Ken and his crew. I also asked for some additional fixtures (shutoff valves) to be installed with the new utility sink). Ken accommodated these requests without complaint. Hiring Absolute Precision Plumbing worked out very well for us and we fully expect to use them for additional plumbing work we have planned in the future. I would definitely recommend them to anyone with plumbing related needs.

We knew our 55 year old boiler needed to be replaced after the first winter in our new home. We called Absolute Precision Plumbing & Heating and Ken got back to us almost immediately to schedule a time for an estimate. Ken came to our home the next day and evaluated our needs. He was professional, friendly and he thoroughly went over our options: replacing our old steam boiler or upgrading to a high efficiency forced hot water boiler with baseboard heating and an indirect water heater. His estimate was competitive and his knowledge exceeded other heating contractors we also had come out. Considering we live in a 100 year old home, we had many questions about the feasibility of upgrading to the high efficiency system and the logistics of doing so. Ken was more than happy to come to our home on multiple occasions to discuss the details of removing the radiators, how the heat would get to our second floor, placement of the new baseboard heating, etc. and he did it all with a friendly smile. The work was performed precisely in the manner it was described and in exactly the time frame that was quoted for us. Considering the work of removing radiators and installing baseboard heat, I feared the worse when it came to my home being a mess when I returned from work each day. Instead it was the complete opposite. I wouldnt have even known they were there except with the improvements they made. Furniture was always placed back exactly where it had been prior and they always left everything just as clean as before they started that day. We are very happy with the work that Ken did and I know well call him in the future if we have plumbing needs too!
