Honestly, I am really not a review writing type of a person. But, sometimes, an incident happens with you which might hurt you to such an extent that you might be forced to write one. It seems like a duty to inform the society that please be careful of such incidents and businesses in your town. The incident which happened with me today (06/23/2014) at Firestone-Shrewsbury garage deserves such a reporting to the community. Firestone is issuing a $16.99 coupon for oil change and tire rotation at the back of many shopping receipts (expiring July 31, 2013). I have been regularly taking my car at that store and found this as a good opportunity to use the coupon and save some dollars. The person in the counter (I intentionally don’t want to take his name for his job security) informed me that the coupon has been applied while preparing my work order for oil change and including taxes and disposable fee it’s US$23.68 (including taxes ($1.19) and disposable fees extra($2.50)) (Customer Invoice Number:165499). Quite surprised, I asked him again whether he had applied the coupon since in my calculations it should be around $20.00 and he confirmed he did apply the coupon. After making the payment and taking the key, I came out of the store and when I checked the detailed bill - it was amply clear that he didn’t apply the coupon and charged me much more for the job. I went back and enquired about it. His initial response is: “Hey- you came back just for a dollar!!” First of all, it’s not a question of a dollar but more than a few dollars. Secondly, even, if it’s a dollar, why shouldn’t I? It’s your store’s advertised price. You are overcharging me and instead of apologizing or saying sorry you are making a fun of me since I came back for something which is completely your mistake. Then, on being pointed out that it’s something more than a dollar, I am told: “Were you expecting a free oil change. We can’t give you one.” Did I ever mention to you that I came to your store for a free service and I don’t have the ability to pay for it? I know that I don’t appear to look like a typical rich customer you might have wanted me to look like or serve to. But when I came to your store, I can confirm you through this review that I have had the ability to pay for the service I am taking from your store. I am really feeling insulted today on the way Firestone Garage –Shrewsbury (Store# 006521) treated me. I am not an expert on car technicalities, so I am not in a position to comment on the expertise of the mechanics. But, I am sure they are good since I never had any problem with my car after repairing it from that location. But, honestly – this is the last time in my life I am visiting your store. Since more than my car, I value my own prestige and honor.

I had chosen Firestone to service my new car, which has less then 30,000 miles. I would make an oil change appointment every 3,000 miles, which is what they recommended. I went in for an oil change on August 3rd and a month later there was no oil left in my car and my drive way was covered in oil leaks because Firestone failed to tighten the drain plug on the car during the last service. As I was looking through the receipts, I noticed that the mileage, the date on the inspection sticker (which said 04-06-14), and my license plate numbers were all wrong. When I brought it to the attention of the store manager, he was very unprofessional and didnt even offer an apology for their carelessness. I, personally, could never trust this branch again and advise others to be weary of their next inexpensive oil change, which can in the end cost you thousands on engine repairs.

I went to this Firestone yesterday Monday to fixed anything that I havent done to my old Honda Civic 01. I let them fix couple things that need to be done so the seem to too much high an no discount plus tax. They seem to be alright to my car and think looks ok. Theyre also seem like they work there look like not that professional worker. I know they like to work fun but they laugh too much an doesnt seem they foused on the car. Next day in morning my car doesnt start since I know my battery old and they told me need to be replace. It seems weird that after I when to this place my car doesnt start. Since I havent went any auto fixed my car started fine even with cold weather. You never know the place that need more price on ur wallet that you not know much about mechanics car! Shame for let this happen. Will not recommended to this again. Smh

My 20 year old daughter drove from Montana to visit me and needed tires on her car. I went to Firestone Shrewsbury and they checked her whole front end and informed me it needed ball joints and control arms. I knew it had some issues so I asked to have it fixed. They understood it needed to be done fast and correctly because she was driving back across country in a couple days. They took the vehicle in and had it finished in record time. The whole staff was awesome, courteous and helpful. I had peace of mind knowing my daughter was safe for the long trek home. These guys are amazing!! Ive had my car repaired here several times and have been more than completely satisfied!! Great job from Lauren and all the guys at Firestone Shrewsbury!!!

Let me start of by saying they never tightened my lug nuts and I could of gotten into a serious accident! I had a minor noise occurring on my front left wheel which happened to be loose lug nuts. The tech there proceeded to take my wheel off bend the backing plate for god knows what and put the tire back on. Guy never tightened my lugnuts and the sound got worse and worse. Thankfully I brought it somebody who knows what they are doing and they laughed at me for brining it to a franchised business. Never again. Oh, and they told me I needed a motor mount to fix the sound which would cost me over $1,200 when they just needed to tighten my lug nuts. -_-"

So Ive gone to them for years, basically just for oil changes but I am a familiar face and they know me by name. So I thought I had an ok relationship with them until my last oil change when they(Mike, one of the managers)called and said my car needed major front end work... $1500.00 worth and he painted a pretty grim picture if I didnt have them do it. I declined, took it to my mechanic who found nothing wrong with the front end and told me Firestone never put a washer on the oil cap so I had a oil leak... this was within 3 days of my Firestone visit!!!! They will never work on my car again - beware to all who have service there.

This place is a rip-off for certain jobs. They charged almost $600 to replace a tensioner and timing chain pulleys. Thats fair I suppose. Theres a lot of pieces to remove just to get to those parts. They had the audacity however to quote me $330 to replace two outer tie rod ends. The guy tried to scare me by saying that one of them was ready to fall off of the car which was not the case at all. I did the job myself in an hour for $40. Do yourself a favor and dont have these guys do simple stuff for you.
