I found Superior Auto recommended on one of the Audi fan-boy sites while looking for an option to the dealer and Auto Engineering - which although cheaper than the dealer was still rather pricey and not as communicative as I prefer. Ken was a lucky find. He has been great about explaining options before hand and everything has been fixed right the first time. His pricing is more than fair and the atmosphere is very comfortable for people like me that are not mechanically inclined. It is nice to have a place to bring my car where I can feel confident that the work done was necessary and done well. It is a large, modern professional shop, but it is built right where he lives, and he’s not likely to invite trouble home by messing with people. I recommend having your next oil change done there to check the place out; I bet you’ll start going there for everything. I could say more, but Ill just give you a couple of examples of why I have recommended this shop to friends and family. The screen on my dashboard was unreadable/pixelated. Auto Engineering said the dealer would have to fix it, and the dealer said it would be $2K for the instrument cluster and another $1,500 minimum for the labor. I decided to live without it, but when I mentioned it to Ken, he said that he knew a place that rebuilt them. I gave it a shot and for $500 it’s like new. Another time I brought my car in for new tires and asked him to check the brakes etc. while he had it, because I was hearing noise that had me thinking something serious could be wrong. He checked it out and told me the new tires would resolve some of the noise and then explained the breaking system and what to expect to hear. That was months ago and all is well. This shop is a bit out of the way and prefers cash, but in exchange you can feel confident that they know what they are doing and will treat you right.

Ken at Superior Auto has serviced several of my cars over the past few years, including a Ford, a VW, and now an Audi. This includes "routine" maintenance like brake jobs, major scheduled services, engine fixes, switching my winter and summer tires, as well as bigger repairs and has enjoyed tackling one or two of those "nobody can tell me why my car is doing this" mysteries (and solved them). In every case Ive walked away pleased and even when I looked at the list of services performed and had a question about something (most recently, whether Ken had rotated my tires as part of a major service) I called and he immediately and courteously answered my questions - in fact, Ive come to know that when Ken says hell do something even off-hand, it will get done as with my tire rotation. I believe Ken services all makes but is especially expert with German cars - I often see other Audis as well as BMWs, Porsches, etc. there, and he also restores classics and antiques - but I am very happy with the costs for my services. Given that he has all the computers and a fully equipped shop, I have compared a couple of times and have paid quite a bit less than dealer! Ken also, as I found out, happens to hold the world record for land speed in a "flathead roadster" he built himself, achieved on the Bonneville Salt Flats in UT. You can find videos about this on Youtube. So if hes willing to crack 200mph in a vehicle he built himself and maintained, Im very happy to have him maintain my cars. Hes about as ridiculously expert as possible on cars, and will happily explain mechanical arcana if you ask. So in summary... Ken and Superior Auto is one of those people/places you will be glad to have finally found.

I have been getting work done on my cars by Ken at Superior Auto for quite a few years now. He was recommended to me by a friend as a “good, honest mechanic who knows cars and won’t rip you off!” I have to say that not only was he correct, but he understated on all fronts! Ken has worked on various vehicles for me and my family over the years– a Honda, a Mazda an Infiniti and a couple of Range Rovers. I have never been anything less than extremely satisfied by the service I have received. Ken looks carefully at every problem you bring in. He makes sure he knows what the problem is (and it is often amazing just how fast he knows!), and then tells you clearly exactly what needs to be done. He has never added in unnecessary services or repairs – something that a number of other mechanics and dealers have done to me time and again in the past. Ken has saved me a lot of money by finding after-market parts that are at least as good as the original equipment parts AND by not charging me for unnecessary services or parts. The price Ken gives you is the price you pay – although there have been a number of times Ken has ended up charging me considerably less than the original estimate because the job was “easier than he thought.” This has never happened to me with any other mechanic! In short, I recommend Ken and Superior Auto extremely highly. He is incredibly good at what he does, is clear and fair in his pricing and did I mention that he is a great guy, too! Tony H

This repair shop uses old junk parts and tells you they are new. EXTREMELY overpriced. Spent over 8 grand there and a year later all the same parts are being replaced again. Once I realized I was getting taken for I got a second opinion. After checking with two other mechanics, they said the "issues" Superior Auto reported were non-existant. To add to that, when something goes wrong it is always because of "user error" according to Superior Auto. Half the time the lead mechanics poorly trained, if at all, son will do the "repairs." There is a reason this shop moved from Revere MA. He was exposed for being fraudulent. There is no parking for your car. It will be parked in the mud under sappy trees. I spent 6 hours attempting to remove all the sap that covered my car, even after asking specifically to not park it under the trees. Rude service is a guarantee here! Want to use a credit card for the bill? Nope cant do that. Superior Auto only accepts cash most of the time. Overall, after using this repair shop for over 2 years, I will never go back and advise strongly against anyone thinking about considering it.

I live in Maine and was visiting friends in the area when I had an issue with the drive shaft in my Cayenne. This is a fairly major issue that I suspected was going to really impact, if not ruin, my mini vacation. Fortunately for me I found and called Superior Auto to assist me with the needed repair. Ken was absolutely great to deal with: knowledgeable, friendly, prompt, and I was back on the road in a few hours.....in short I had a great experience there. If I lived in the area there is no doubt that this shop would be my first choice for any car repairs. Even if my car didnt need anything, I would probably just stop by to chat with Ken from time to time, he is a great guy who seems to genuinely care about his customers. If I could give this business more than five stars in this review, I would.
