Brought my vehicle for a transmission issue. They quoted me $2500 and 2-3 days to fix it. Left the car with them on a Friday knowing it should be ready by the following Thursday at the latest. I had rented a car in the meantime. As I called everyday from Wednesday forward all I got was the run around from Mark (the owner). I went in there several days during the first week and the car wasnt even on the lift. As we go into week 2 I was getting the runaround. I called everyday and went in several times. I got the same treatment. I had to extend my rental another week. Finally after having my car for over a week I went in and they finally had the transmission apart. They had to wait for a part and he was giving me a sob story about they were slammed and guys were out and they ran into problems while doing the job, blah, blah, blah. It took over 2 weeks to get my car back. I received no apologies no offers for a reduced rate or covering a week of the rental car. NEVER go there or if you do do not believe what he quotes you for the time. I ended up shelling out $2600+ for the repair plus 2 weeks of car rental for an additional $300.

My ACME Transmission experience is COMPLETELY OPPOSITE of Angus MacGyvers! I highly recommend ACME Transmission!!! I have been taking my car to ACME Transmission since 2007, when current owner, Mark Boothby took over the business. Mark has done a great job, and has gone above and beyond the call of duty, to keep my previous 2 Subaru Legacys (1995 + 2000) running in tip-top shape, and has recently (in the last 2 weeks) replaced the engine in a 3rd of my Subarus (2006). I have had oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, and a transmission rebuilt at ACME. ACME Transmission employs experienced, problem solving mechanics, who excel at troubleshooting and repairing automotive and transmission issues. If they uncover a problem, that is different from the reason the vehicle was initially in the shop, they follow-up by contacting the customer, apprising them of the additional repairs, the urgency of the need for that repair, and the cost of those repairs, and the customer is given the opportunity to either authorize, decline, or schedule the additional repair(s) for a future date. Vehicles are test driven after repairs are completed.

Ive been taking my car to Mark at ACME since 2007. If I have a problem, I can drop my car off to have it looked at. Mark and his crew are great. Mark talks to me first before any work is done. Hes very knowledgeable of what needs to be done, can be done and what can wait. Giving me options, and being honest, is very worthwhile to me, when a repair is needed. Ive had multiple maintenance jobs, and repairs, done here. Ive never been disappointed in the work. Mark has also gone above and beyond to keep me, as a valued customer. Recently, I found myself stranded in another state. I gave Mark a call and he talked me through the symptoms and possible options I could follow in order to get back home safely. Once I got back home, he took my car right away to give it the once over to make sure my car remained safe to drive. Who else does that? I will continue to go to ACME. Nothing better than having a reliable mechanic and crew to keep me going. Thanks guys!!!

Woa! I dont know how this place got this many starts. I brought my Murano in to replace the catalytic converter at bank 1 with a part that I bought. In the middle of the fix, I got a phone call from Bryant about the part not compatible with the my car because of how the catalytic convert curved. He quoted me 400 dollars for a different catalytic converter plus the labor. He said that it would cost just about as much if I get another part of my own and pay for labor again. The part I paid for only cost 100$$. I declined to have them install a different catalytic converter and had them put back the old one. When I got back in the next day, Bryant said he was able to fit in the catalytic converter that I purchased and he recycled the old one. HOW CONVENIENT! In the end, Bryant was trying to scam me into paying for their product when mine was totally compatible. He had the audacity to lie to me at the end. Shameless!

This place is awesome. Recently purchased a used car that unfortunately needs a new transmission. I was provided a warranty through the dealer that ended up being invalid because he filled out the paperwork incorrectly. Mark was so nice and reached out to the dealer to see if they could make a deal to get the car fixed for me. The dealer (Brooks motors in Auburn) ended up being useless and wouldnt contact Mark about making a deal so I wasnt able to get any work done. However my car sat there for almost two weeks and Mark didnt charge me a dime and was so patient while we tried to figure something out. If I do ever need work I will 100% call him first, so honest and kind. Truly genuine work done here. THANK YOU MARK!!!

The professionalism and expertise that the staff at Acme Transmission displayed was exemplary. I was having problems with my car for the past several months and couldnt find a reputable garage to detect all the problems. It had been towed three times within the past two months [yikes!!], then I was referred to Acme Transmissions. They took the time with me , diagnosed, fixed and returned my car in a timely fashion. [they also do general repairs] Finally!! I found a place that I can trust explicitly with my vehicles.

I was stuck at my sons karate meet one night when my truck wouldnt start. I call Acme Transmission at 6:00pm and got Mr Boothby on his cell phone. He came and towed my truck to his shop, discovered the problem and call me the next day told me how much it was going to be. I told he could fix it and it was done by that night and he delivered it to me. Plus they have vacumn out my car and wash my wind shield for me too. My experience was simple, I called, explained what I needed and asked if they had time today to do it. They said sure bring it on down! So I did and a few hours later they got to it... had the problem figured out and I was on my way for much less than expected. Partly because what was wrong was lucky and also because they didnt try to sell me anything extra or charge me for every hour it was there. Friendly guys also, Im very pleased!

You never realize how much you rely on your vehicle until it stops running! I brought my vehicle into Acme, afraid I may have to go days possibly weeks without a vehicle as has been the case at other shops. They were able to correctly diagnose and fix the issue by the next day! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fast and efficient mechanic! Amanda M.

I had a friend visiting from another state and his transmission went. I called Acme and they had other options for me besides a whole new transmission that would have costed thousands. Acme always kept me updated whenever I called about the vehicle, and the now is running beautifully. Thank you Acme. I will recommend you to my friends and family.
