I took my Toyota Corolla with more than 100,00mile to Japanese Auto because it started making bumpy noise with kind of shake. For the first time, I took it to Toyota dealer and they replaced parts which they claimed it was worn out. They charged more than $300. When my friend looked the old parts, they looked new and no sign of worn out. (How do I know they were bad or not? They looked greasy and dirty.) Worst of all, the noise continued. When I took it to Japanese Auto, they test drove with me and then looked my tires. They found my tires were bumpy. They suggested to buy new tire and didnt charge anything. As I changed tires, the noise was gone and became very smooth. Since then, I always take my car to them and every time they fix the problem and charge very minimal and fast. As a woman, I always very skeptical to take car in to a shop, but I am very confident with Japanese Auto. I will take my car only to them. I recommend anyone who has Japanese cars.

Amazing! I was recommended to go here by someone who lived here for 50 years. They have been amazing and so nice. I dont take my car anywhere else before seeing them. The negative reviews of them are a shame. They all seem to be customers who are inept towards cars. I can promise they CARE there. If you want something or care about something TELL them and they will make it happen. Twice they havent charged me when another place would have taken hundreds from me. (one time they called and told me my brakes were still fine and didnt need replacement; Main Street Motors on the other hand were the ones who said it was needed, they just wanted to do more work while the car was already on the lift)(the second time i had an unknown problem; They fussed around with it for a couple days but couldnt find anything so they didnt charge me for any of the time they put into it)

They have earned my trust with both my vehicles and I wont go anywhere else. Took our minivan in to get the timing belt replaced and Joe said he would inspect the hoses and replace any if they needed it (versus the dealership, who declared that you should always replace the hoses when you replace the timing belt so they can pad the work to north of $1500); the van didnt need any hoses replaced, and the timing belt replacement was less than $500. He told me of a problem with my exhaust (the pipe is slowly rusting out) and did a fix that will last me a couple of years cheaply while telling me that eventually the whole thing will need to be replaced for $1200. Ive found Joe and his staff to be honest, and they really take a minimalist approach to auto repair. My experience has been so good that I honestly doubt the negative reviews that are published here.

3 reviews 1.0 star rating 8/2/2017 If you want your car to leave in worse shape than it went in, this is the place to go. Overly priced, extremely rude and completely unreliable. We had our brakes replaced on our CR-V a few weeks ago and are already experiencing issues with their "work." Also was pulled over this morning on my way to work by a cop because the brake lights werent working -- another product of their fine service. When we called them, "manager" said we could drop it off again but that they "cant predict what happens when it leaves the shop." Which is to say, they have ZERO faith in their own work and wont stand behind their service at all. I guess thats fine if they were a clothing store or something, but knowingly sending people out onto the roads in unsafe vehicles is dangerous and frankly despicable.

Ive counted on the honest, knowledgeable, generous mechanics, both men and women, at Japanese Auto since the 1980s. This is one of those places car owners deeply appreciate when so much uncertainty is associated with car repair. The professionals at Japanese Auto will tell you whats needed now, what can wait awhile (how long to wait), and what can be done without, if you want to save some $. For example, Ive been driving with an occasional clunking noise as a reminder that, with the kind of driving I do, I dont really need a sway bar link kit. Ive done without it for years. Some people would not opt out for this repair, but it works for me. I trust the recommendations I get from Japanese motors. Theyve kept my 15 year old Honda Accord in tip top shape, as has been the case for several cars Ive trusted in their hands.

I took in a Mazda 2002 for a basic tune-up: new break pads, oil change, find out what the engine light being on meant, etc. They called me up telling me that I didnt need that I didnt need to change the break pads, and would I like to wait until they actually wear out. They saved me a good price tag. When i picked up the car they told me exactly what was wrong, and how I can fix my engine light problem. For everything they charged me just for the oil change. These guys are the first car mechanics I have ever met who just want a car to be fixed and running smoothly without mind as to the money they make. Go here! The oil changes are a little more expensive, but they use synthetic oil that lasts about 6000 miles, so it more than makes up for it. Im going there today to get a little more advice.

We took our 2004 Toyota Sienna here for a timing belt change and service. This vehicle has over 270,000 miles on it so I expected them to find a number of things that also needed repair. No. They looked over everything and did what they said they would do and the final cost was close to the estimate. Compare this to the dealer when I took the car in and they wanted to perform another $1500 in repairs that were really not necessary. They seem to be honest, fix what is requested, and do it in a timely manner. It can take a few days to get an appointment but any shop with a good rep and fair prices has the same issues. We live 45 minutes away and I feel that it is worth the extra trouble to come here.

One word has been used to describe the service given by the extremely talented mechanics at Japanese Auto: HONEST. I feel compelled to write a review because I couldnt agree more with this description. My girlfriend has had her car looked at NUMEROUS times by Japanese Auto, some times for intense maintenance, others for just regular tune-ups. They have always handled our needs with extreme professionalism, great prices, and honest advice. Many times they have performed simple duties free of charge, sometimes even RIGHT AWAY. I could list off at least 6 stories describing the professionalism of this shop, but I think you get my point. Dont bother going anywhere else, you wont find a better shop.

Pretty good reviews online so I decided to try Japanese Auto out. They were quick to get me in for a tune up. Work was done within a few hours. Price was a bit high, especially for basic Toyota work. The worst of it though was when I got in the car I find a greasy hand print left on the interior door handle. I go back in and Joe came out to clean it up. Things looked to my satisfaction and I get in the car and grab the shifter and steering wheel. Right away I notice both hands black and grimy! So I go back in again to have Joe clean things up. Not how Id like my cars to be treated, Id probably try somewhere else in the future.
