After reading all the reviews I took a chance and treid this salon for the first time. I booked an appointment with Cara after having to call two days in a row because no one would answer the phone. When I got there the salon was very cute but the service was horrible. I waited at the front desk for at least 10 minutes before someone walked by and asked if i had been helped. The service is actually very bad just be prepared for that. I talked to my stylist about what I had wanted and even showed her a picture of the exact look that i wanted to have when leaving the salon. She first warned me that every stylist has their own techniques so if its not exactly the same to not worry which i shouldve taken as a sign. My hair was dark brown going in and i wanted to leave with a beautiful balyage light brown/blonde. The first time she did my hair there were a few highlights and thats about it. After explaining this is not what i wanted at all she went in with a full head of highlights that still did nothing. After being in the salong for 3.5 hours at the point i accepted my hair even though i did not like it at all. I was told my hair would look lighter after i had washed it and let me just say it only looks worse now. I had extremely high hopes for this salon and after $175 of dissapointment i would not reccomend it to anyone.

The Owner of Beauty Collective Hair Salon, Cara, is an Artist. I rarely meet stylists like her, except on the East or West Coast... I wound up here b/c I was looking for a change, which typically happens every three to four years. In that type of instance, I always go to a new stylist, who can think about my hair differently -- this three year cycle, I went to Beauty Collective on Eton in Bham (across from the Claw). Owner Cara chopped and chiseled, while Alyse assisted with washing and helped dry. Not only do I love my hair, but I love the salons business model -- while there, I learned the salon expanded five years ago into a larger space and has a few stylists from New York and New Orleans, who fly in on holidays and some even monthly. The salon caters to both men and women. You must go!, especially if you are in the need for a change...!

My wife and I love going to the Beauty Collective. Its a really relaxed environment. Theres always just the right kind of music playing in the background. I get the best haircut ever. My stylist (Ive gone to a few of them) always takes her time washing my hair. Its like shes massing my scalp. And they put on this conditioner that makes my hair smell awesome. The salon is at a perfect location. Theres never any traffic, and there is always a place to park. I dont have to worry about parking tickets or parking garages. My wife loves getting her hair done there. She likes getting pampered. He hair color always looks good afterward. The stylists seem to get it just right. My wife and I often make an afternoon out of it and head across the street for a lunch or early dinner. I highly recommend The Beauty Collective.

Ive been a client of Caras for just about 2 years now and can honestly say there is not another colorist out there that can do what she does...and trust me Ive been to a lot of them. The blonde she does is simply unmatchable. Its the kind of blonde that people stop and comment on and ask you who does your hair. The salon is super convenient with easy parking which is free so that is always a major plus in my book. Most importantly, Cara is super sweet, talented and extremely knowledgable when it comes to her craft. I would absolutely recommend the salon and of course Cara to anyone.

I absolutely love this salon! I have been following Cara around for the past fifteen years and I will not let anyone touch my color but her! She is such an amazing colorist! Ive been going to Beauty Collective for years and I love it! I always receive a prompt greeting and the appointments run right on time. Cara is a talented hair stylist and I completely trust her to make the right decisions with my hair. Ive had Keratin treatments, cuts and I routinely have my color done about once a month. Beauty Collective is by far the best salon Ive ever been too. The atmosphere is relaxed. I always get treated well. My cut and color comes out so perfect. The color lasts so long! Its like a sweet escape when I go there. I feel very pampered. I highly recommend Beauty Collective to anyone looking to get their hair done in Birmingham Michigan. One of the best parts about the salon - I dont have to fight for a parking space or walk from blocks away. I park right in the lot next to the salon.

My stylist is Cara - she is truly amazing with color! I am always excited when I have an upcoming appointment with her. I definitely recommend this salon for its talented stylists! I also see Christine for make-up/eyebrow shaping - she does a beautiful job. The location is easy to find and has dedicated parking - always a plus in Birmingham! The inside of the salon is very beautifully decorated and relaxing - everything a trip to the salon should be.

I absolutely love the Beauty Collective salon. The location in Birmingham is fantastic. It was easy to find and I didnt have any problem parking. I didnt even have to pay a meter. The Salon was clean and well kept. I just love the decor. Everyone at the salon was so nice. My stylist took time to talk about how I wanted my hair cut and colored. I cant believe how long the color has lasted. I plan on going back to the salon.

Kindness in the environment (someone always ask if you would like some type of beverage to drink, like water, coffee, or tea while at the salon) and service for beauty at your finger tips. Treated with the up most respect that gives good service, in which I felt absolutely fantastic about myself when I left the salon.

Im a 35 year old man, single professional, so I want a stylish, professional doo for a reasonable price. Thats what I get here. Since its a co-op, the prices are lower but the stylists are excellent. Im serious about my look, but Im sure most guys would agree that were not going to drop big bucks for a haircut.
