On 03/12/2016 my husband and I pulled into the parking lot at Al Serra Chevrolet in Grand Blanc. We were in the area and had NO plans to purchase a new or used vehicle but we saw a truck and liked the looks of it. The dealership was about to close and the sale person Jed Thompson came out and talked with us about the truck. I told him that I was interested in the truck but the ONLY way I would buy it is if we had the same payment or very close to what we were paying now on our Arcadia. He said let me do some paperwork and I will get back to you on Monday. On Monday he called us and said congrats we can get you approved and your payment is only slightly higher than what you are paying now but your finance rate is at 6.9% I said that sounds high…I told him I could get a better rate at my local credit union…he said ok and he sent the paperwork over to my credit union. My credit union then said we will do it at 6.25%, I said fine. I had my husband go pick up the check from the credit union and I told him to take it to the dealership and pick up the truck, which he did. Then 2 weeks after the sale I received a call from the dealership (Jed the sales guy) stating they had screwed up the paperwork and we actually owed them $2,266.00 more? I said I have no idea what you are talking about….he said you need to look over the paper work….I said Jed my husband came in and took care of everything gave you the check and you gave us the keys…and now we have the title…He said well we aren’t going to pay off your old vehicle then…I said I am not trying to argue but let me call my credit union …I talked with the main loan officer and she said yes he tried to call me too … he wants me to rework all the paperwork and have this loan rewritten…she said I have 2 other loan officers plus myself looking at this and its crazy I have no idea what he is talking about and we aren’t doing anything with this. That day I spoke with the loan officer we were leaving for vacation to TN… I called Jed and I left a message…He ended up calling me back stating we owed the money…While on vacation I called their new car manager (Brandon Peabody) and talked with him and told him everything that happened…I said if you are going to push this I want my old vehicle back because I can’t afford to pay $2,266.00 out of my pocket or $100.00 extra a month in payments…he said no problem this is crazy we will take care of this don’t worry about it…I said ok….a week after I returned from vacation I received a letter in the mail stating they were taking me to court…I immediately called the dealership and talked with the used car manager Ed Rykulski…they said they had no record of me calling in and I was ignoring them…I said no I talked with the new car manager…so he kept arguing with me and said he would check my story out…he called me back 3 days later and said he talked to Brandon and he confirmed that I did speak with him but he did not care we owed the money……Now I have been served papers and I am being taken to court?? I have attached 2 contracts for you to review . When he sent this contract over to my credit union he stated that we owed $30,831.04 now he is stating that we actually owed $33,097.04….

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IVE EVER EXPERIENCED!! Here is a letter I sent to the sales Manager...I wanted to make you aware of the terrible experience I had with your used car sales department. I called your dealership on Wednesday afternoon around 4:00 to inquire about the black 2010 Camaro that was listed on the internet. I was unlucky enough to have Jason Czarka take my call. He seemed helpful in the beginning and emailed the information about the car to me. I immediately contacted him and told him I had interest in the car and I was a cash buyer. I asked him to look at the car and give me a call back. He said he would “put his hands on the car” and call me with all of the details. By 6:00 he still hadn’t called back so I called him again and re-expressed my interest. And he again said he would check out the car and call me later that evening. He never called me back on Wednesday so I left him a voice mail on his cell asking what happened. Still no return call… This morning (Thursday) I called the dealership at 8:30 and they informed me that he would be in at 12:30. I also left a message for you at this time. I waited most of the day and decided to try him again at 2:45. I was able to speak with him but was then informed that there was “another offer that came in on the car this morning but not to worry “the financing probably won’t be approved”. At this time I told him if he would have called me back last night, as promised, I would have put a deposit on the car to assure I would get it. He said not to worry and he would call me in a couple hours with the decision. He said “we will know today for sure. They won’t tie the car up any longer than that.” I waited until 7:00 and after still not getting a phone call called him & left another message on his cell asking him to please call me back either way. I also informed him that my wife & I both took the day off tomorrow (Friday) and were planning on going to get a car. After not receiving a call I tried to reach him once again at 8:20. Of course I got his voice mail again. In my message I let him know how dissatisfied I was with the entire chain of events and let him know that I would be expressing my dissatisfaction to you. I also plan on sending letters to Mr. Dunfield, and Mr. Serra to make them aware of this situation. Finally, I will be posting this entire experience wherever I can to alert the general public. I am in sales myself and I can’t for the life of me understand how anyone can expect to be successful in the field with such a lack of customer service. UPDATE: Still no return call..........

What a horrible experience! Most unprofessional experience ever! I dropped my wifes van off at Al Serra Chrysler so the mechanic could tell me why I was smelling coolant every time it puled into my home garage. The oil change facility I frequent claimed they could not see anything leaking and the level was consistently on full. I also asked them to look at the fog lamp that was out and some dash lights that were out. After a number of hours I was contacted by the service person (Dion) and given a estimate for over $1800. I was told that the heater core hoses had leaks, the intake manifold gasket was leaking, the coolant temp sensor switch was leaking, the rear caliper assembly was leaking, the aux trans oil cooler was leaking, the fog lamp needed replaced, the trans CV axle shaft seal was leaking, and the entire AC assembly needed replaced because the light bulbs were part of the unit. Needless to say, I drove in the next morning and told them I was not interested in spending that kind of money on a van with 104,000 on the clock. Dion at the desk (who referred to me as Dog!) said he would see what he could do. He then talked to his manager Dan Erickson and Dan came out and told me he could get $440 reduced by asking Chrysler to cover the manifold leak under warranty even though it expired 4000 miles ago. I told Dan that if he could cover it then go ahead and do that work without doing the other work. He said no, I wont go to bat for you unless I spend $1400 on the other stuff. I asked why because I knew he could get Chrysler to pay him for the warranty service. He said no and I said lets part ways and I will pay the $99 inspection fee. Dan told me if I choose to not do the work I now owe him $400 for the inspection. I told him thats crazy but go ahead and charge me for it on my Visa and I would argue the charges with the Visa company. At that point he said he was going to keep my car even though I was going to pay the $400. I told him he was crazy and this wasnt legal. Needless to say, he walked away and then Dion comes out with a $200 bill still calling me Dog! This was very unpleasant considering I bought a $32,000 Honda from Al Serra 8 days before. I will never give Al Serra my business again although I have had great experiences over the years with Al Serra Honda. Kudos to them, but the service dept at Al Serra Chrysler has ruined my relationship with them. By the way, someone please tell Dion hes not Randy Jackson... Dog!!!!
