I recently brought in my laptop to canton computers to have a virus removed. Fred informed me that they would take a look at it and if it needed to be fixed the fee would be 79. He later told me that there could be additional charges perhaps the operating system may need to be reloaded, etc. The next day I received a call from them, he proceeds to tell me that my hard drive was failing during diagnosis testing and it could last 5 minutes after I leave or 5 years. I thought that was a wide range... He said they had a comparable hard drive and with that total would be 292.00. I told him I couldnt afford that during Christmas time, he then starting reducing the priced based on a smaller hard drive, but then said if I wanted to save anything off the old one it would range from 30 and up depending on the size of the media needing to be removed. I asked him could he just remove the virus not fix the hard drive, place antivirus and I would take my chances on the hard drive, he said he could remove virus but could only sell me the virus protection and not put it on the computer because of the condition of the hard drive. I said forget it all together Ill just pick it up. Needless to say they charged me 40.00 for nothing, I took my computer to the geek squad bought a 2 year service plan for 3 computers which included antivirus, cleanup and removal of all virus or spy wear for under 300. (with complete support/service) MY COMPUTERS HARD DRIVE PASSED DIAGNOSTICS AT BEST BUYS GEEK SQUAD! Do not take your computer to this place you will regret it! They tried to rip me off and at a great time CHRISTMAS! what a joke....

I dropped off a laptop here for repair, it was blue screening and I did not have time for dell to fix it by sending it in, they are very nice, but after waiting a week, I call and they do not know where the hell my laptop is, they said it got sent to another store, call there, they dont have it, call this one, he looks for 30 minutes and finally finds it, alright, no big deal, but then the next day they say they have been stress testing it for 3 days and cannot get the error to re-occur, which seemed odd, then I say the problem was mostly occuring browsing chrome for 10-15 minutes, he says they have been for hours and it will not crash, so I come to pick it up and get charged 40 dollars for labor, I check history and they were browsing the web for 5 minutes! No where near enough time to crash, Imediatlty when I get home it crashes 4 times just turned on sitting, it is impossible that they were working on it doing tests for 2-3 days straight, and couldnt get it to crash to figure out the problem, they did offer to charge the other 60 to bring it back in and ACTUALLY FIX IT, but now I have been without it for almost 2 weeks, still would have to bring it back which is a 35 minute drive, just because I guess they didnt want to fiddle with re installing windows like Alex said was the problem on the phone, and it would be an easy fix. I am just going to send it to dell or return to the place I bought it from. Do not reccomend if you need your computer back quickly.

I was just in Canton Computers asking to have the hinges on my sons Alienware computer fixed. They estimated it at $80.00 before they took it apart. Then the shock comes with the phone call from David. David leaves me a message that it is going to be $345.00 to repair this computer. WOW WHAT A SHOCK thats a lot of money so I tell the guy at the counter to much for me right now. But I will be back after Christmas to have it fixed. The next thing I do I go on-line and find out these guys gonna charge me $345.00 for a recall and the have already charged me $40.00 to take it apart and maybe void my warranty from Dell. The guy from the back says to me I did not tell you about the recall because of the condition of the computer then I said thats what the picture looks like on line. Then he said there are lots of recalls on computers we track them all it would take to much time to track all recalls we just fix them a charge you for it. So now to my opinion I think I was just RIPPED OFF BY THIS COMPANY they knew about recall and decided not to tell me!!!!! by there own admission. Again my opinion but if they have fixed your computer contact the maker and make sure they did not fix a recall and charge you for it.

I love Canton Computers. I first came to these guys in the late-90s at their Redford Location back when they were just "Discount Computers," and that was the only shop they had open. I was lucky enough to work with these guys too, when they expanded into their new HQ in Canton. Theyre top notch! They dont oversell or try to sell you something you dont need... that was one thing they made a point of teaching me when I worked there. These guys are good, theyre honest and they really do care. Ive even sent friends from overseas to order from these guys. Competitive prices, great service.

They started small and modest, grew quickly and kind of lost touch, and shrunk back to small and modest. They came along with the expansion of the home PC market. Unlike a "former" (Comp "useless"), they actually know something about computers! And, are not so full of themselves to actually answer questions you may have about them. They do sell"recycled" parts along with new, and have a service "geek" team (thats not a "squad", thank God), and they will work with you. Ive taken even some of my professional computer needs there. Good guys.

Canton Computers – you are the best! I suffered high anxiety at the thought of turning over my laptop for repairs to a company I didn’t know. Nick, the tech, could not have been more professional - he answered all my questions, explained everything he was doing, delivered my now “good as new” laptop when he promised and the price . . . more than fair. Many, many thanks Nick and Canton Computers!

My husband and I both had our PCs custom-built here, and were extremely happy with the end result! The entire process was quick (done in a few days), and we were able to get everything we wanted from our PCs at a lower price than a pre-built, thanks to the staffs great advice. I highly recommend them if you are looking for parts/advice on building your own machine or to have one built for you.

I was expecting the self-righteous, pretentious computer geek experience but that wasnt the case at all! I visited the store 3 times within the last couple weeks, I was definitely a needy customer but Alex and Eric were extremely patient, very helpful and really cool dudes.

Extremely pleased with this organization, their technical expertise, their concern for customers. Have used twice over recent years for two unique computers and was satisfied each time plus give friendly, respectful communication. Highly recommend.
