I took my car there twice. The first time there was a young mechanic that was really good. He explained exactly what was wrong and what it would take to it fixed. My car was fixed on time and at a reasonable price. But the young mechanic was frustrated because he was basically running the shop and he couldnt get in contact with the owner. The second time I took my car there to get work done, the young mechanic had quit. The owner was there operating the shop with a different mechanic. That should have been my sign not to have them work on my car, but since I had such great experience the first time, I decided to let them fix my car, although I thought the price was too high. I dropped the car off that morning and they promised to have the work complete by that afternoon. Two day later they still had not completed the work. So the owner finally called to inform me that the price would be higher than what was originally quoted. I asked why. He then explained that they had broken the mounting bolt to the alternator and they had to get a new one from the dealership. I ask why was I being charged for the bolt that they had broken. I didnt break it, they did. He said and I quote: "thats the way we do business". We argued back and forth because I felt that I should not have to pay for their mistake. The owner stated that I did not have to pay for the bolt, but I would need to pick up my car and have it towed away from his shop. I needed my car so I ended up paying the extra charge. I will never EVER take my car back there again! I wish I knew where that young mechanic relocated to. Good service is hard to find.

Auto-Lab - Madison Heights, MI Over the years Ive taken my car to a number of different places, large chain stores like Firestone and Midas to the dealership where I purchased my car from and nobody comes close to the service I get from Marc at Auto-Lab. Marc Williams who is the owner of the Madison Heights Auto-Lab does an excellent job at answering my questions. I highly recommend Marc for a number of reasons: 1. He does what needs to be done and doesnt try to take advantage of you. (Its very important to have a mechanic you can trust). 2. He wont try to replace something that doesnt need to be replaced. (I came in thinking my alternator was bad and he conducted his tests and only had to replace the battery and my car works perfect again.) 3. He is friendly and reliable and will call you back when he says that he will. (Each time he said he would call back he did.) 4. He has the best prices in town and stands behind his work. (I was quoted for work at the dealership and Marcs quote was so much better even with the cost to move my vehicle (because it needed to be towed) was a few hundred dollars less than the dealerships quote and I received factory parts too. He also replaced my rear rotors and pads which were under the great warranty from Auto-Lab) Marc really is, "A mechanic you can trust". You have a customer for life. Thank you, Justin

Well I only had to go here because they are a lot closer then my normal mechanic and with my car having a bog/miss, I did not want to drive it far. With that they kept it two days to look into my problem, only to come back and tell me my Catalytic converter was plugged and it would cost me 170$ just for the diagnose and would be looking at around 400-500$ to swap my converter out. So I had it towed to my normal mechanic just to get a second opinion and he said my converter was fine and that one of my spark plug wires was arcing causing a misfire under load and would be under 50$ to swap them out. Lesson learned, 170$ mistake for not taking it to my normal mechanic in the first place.

New to the area my car wont start at 12 n Mound. I Google to see whats around. Come across several places and decide to look at the reviews. Auto-Lab had the best and most recent so I had my car towed there. GREAT decision and thank you Google reviews. Marc is genuine, authentic and he really freeking cares! After a few phone conversations I went in to give him a deposit and signature and the FIRST thing he did was greeted me "you must be Dave" and a hand shake. What a forgotten concept! Excellent work, VERY reasonable price and VERY fast service. If you are reading this you are reading it for a reason. Your search is over....go to Auto-Lab....it worked for me.

Got my car fix by really great shop, Marc the owner of Auto Lab in Madison Heights have great service, and they have reasonable prices, and also just honest about your car issues. if you want dealer level service without dealership prices he is great! Update: April 17 2017 Went to Auto Lab Madison Heights where Marc and his team of mechanics, especially the mechanic that work on my car, did a another satisfactory job on my vehicle, the workmanship and skill of his mechanic made me feel at ease with them working on my car again. He is one the best places to get your car work on, in south east michigan, and other work he did on my car is still going strong!

I called AutoLab and spoke with Mark (the owner) to repair my brake lines (it sprung a leak). I had first taken my truck to a GM dealer (Mathews Hargreaves) - I know, it was a big mistake. They quoted me over $800 to fix a single line. I knew that was ridiculous so I googled brake shops and saw AutoLab. In speaking with Mark he said he could do it much cheaper, even though he hadnt seen the truck at all (most places wouldnt ever give an opinion without seeing the vehicle). The next day they fixed it for $370! I felt really comfortable talking with Mark, and thought he was honest and fair. I wholeheartedly recommend him and his shop.

Ive been having my car serviced by Auto-Lab for about 2 years now and I just love them, they are very fast, efficient and can fix just about anything, they are also great with referrals to other services that need to be done, they know everyone at the top of their game!
