These guys r a complete rip off or theyre jst plain stupid i cant say. However, dont go there for your Computer repair needs. They dont seem to understand the requests u make and keep trying to push plans on you over the phone. In my case i went there to get the motherboard cables to be plugged back in n install an optical drive. I mentioned that i had taken them out while i tried to install a blu ray drive. They agreed to take a look at it and assured that it is a simple process. It took about 1 hr standing in line despite making an appointment. They took my pc to their out of sight area and assured me that everything was fine when i got it back. I got back home and found out quickly that the computer did not turn on. I went there a second time after calling them where i told them the problem that the cables were not plugged back in. They assured me over the phone again that they will take a look and said i didnt need an appointment since i was just here previously. 30 mins i stood in line again and then when i explained the problem to the rep at the desk, that the cables were not connected back, she asked me to open up the computer. I did so n showed the unplugged cables to which she said tht those cables didnt need to be connected. It was clear that these guys know nothing about computers.. It was so very frustrating after having spent $40 and 3 hrs of my time here. At first i thought of talking to a manager but then i thought what if the manager there was as unknowledgeable as the rep. I had gone in there looking for help and the treatment i got for whatever reason was simply unacceptable. I simply walked out n refused to talk to anyone else in order to not waste any more time. That was my last $40 i will ever spend on the fake geek squad. My money is better spent elsewhere.

Yesterday morning I arrived, just before opening, at this Best Buy location with my 7 month old Dell computer. I could not access the internet from home. There were others at the door. Two were ahead of me for assistance by Geek Squad. The two gentlemen that were helping customers immediately addressed the issues that the customers had. When it was my turn, Matt plugged my computer in, asked me several questions regarding the issues I noticed, ran some diagnostics and fixed the problem. I was in and out in 45 minutes with no costs. I had my receipts, warranty information as well as Geek Squad protection. This experience has taught me that the people and the coverage make a huge difference when technical issues can happen. Matt ran several additional checks to make sure that he had diagnosed the problem correctly.

Brought my computer in to have them do a back up of everything on the hard drive. The computer was returned to me with several screws not fully screwed in and stripped and with several other screws completely missing. I immediately asked them to fix it and it took them about 10 minutes to screw in a few screws. Then I got home and when I checked the hard drive I provided them, not a single file was backed up. Somehow it seems that my computer was opened and put back together (crudely) and they never got to doing what the needed them to do. Youd be better off taking your computer to your technology-fearing uncle than to the Geek Squad. Ditch these guys.
