I live in Chicago and made a trip back to work on my house only to find there were plumbing issues. I looked up plumbers on the internet and decided to give Dan Wood Co a try. This was my first experience with them and after this experience, I would HIGHLY recommend using them & would suggest asking for the plumber they sent out - Chris Hewit! I love the fact they call you with updates regarding if they are able to get plumber out to you that day and the day of the appointment calling to let you know you are the next appointment for the plumber to so you have an idea of where you are on their list of appointments for that day. Chris called and let me know he was 25 min away and showed up prepared and was EXTREMELY knowledgeable, professional, personable & helpful. I was fixing up my rental home to prepare for sale & he took the time to check for other leaks & fix them along with the original request I had so I had a few add-ons from the original job but he happily accommodated fixing the other issues. Ive never had to use a plumber before but the entire experience from start to finish was so easy and I am 100% satisfied. I will be recommending this company and Chris to all of my friends back home in Michigan!

Dan Wood stands by their work. We hired Dan Wood to install a new well at our home. Dan and Earl did a great job of explaining everything to me and were very professional. Following the instillation, we had a huge rain storm and the seal around where the plumbing enters the house failed. It was 11:30 PM and water was coming into our mechanical room and slowly making it was into our finished basement. I called the help line and spoke to a manager. As the storm passed the water stopped coming into the basement. The manager said they would be out at 8:30 to evaluate the situation and make it right. They showed up at 8:20 and called a water remediation company and began work on the seal. They took care of everything and only asked what time would work for us to get all of the contractors to our home. Dan Wood performed or hired out to licensed companies the following: -seal repair -water remediation -carpet padding and baseboard replacement -carpet cleaning They paid for the entire bill for the clean up and restoration. We will use Dan Wood for any other plumbing project at our home.

Unfortunately, bad business and poor customer service caused Dan Wood to lose our business from here on out. We used Dan Wood for over 16 years and were happy with them for a long time until recently. We will give our business to another company who values their customers and treats them with respect. We were always satisfied with the work they completed. Our only complaint was the final time that we paid for an estimate, requested that they come do the work, and they never came out after several attempts to reach them. They did eventually refund the money for the estimate after we had to call someone else to do the work, which we appreciated and felt was fair. That was three years ago. Problem is, we called them recently for another plumbing issue, and were informed that we are on their "do not service" list, which I felt was a slap in the face after giving them our business for many years. It was their mistake by not coming out when we requested them to go ahead with the work 3 years ago, yet they decided they no longer wanted to do business with us.

Just a reminder to all of those who think this place is "good". I will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, hire these people to do ANYTHING! It was about a year or so ago when the tech guy came out for a low water pressure problem. He messed around and messed around and messed around, touching every pipe in several different places. This took him about an hour. Later I determined he did that so he could charge me an hour labor. Then he just traced the line back to the in-line filter and realized that was where the problem was. Anyone who is not looking to gouge the customer and was a good plumber would have found this in five minutes. He put in a ten inch pipe in place of the filter and that was it. It took him about five minutes. The final price was about $280.00! When I complained to the supervisor he was will to take $25.00 off the price. This company is the biggest scam going!! WHAT A POS COMPANY!! STAY AWAY!!!

Robbery- Remodeling a bathroom and need a drain pipe hooked up. Since the technician was here, I figured Id have him install the shower valves too. Received the quote...$1800 to run a drain pipe and install shower fixtures? Mind you, I have all the parts, just need them installed...To just run the drain pipe, they want $1000. Youre better off going to Home Depot and finding a contractor than using these guys. Even the service technician said their prices are too high. Will never, ever, call Dan Wood Co again. The guy tiling the entire bathroom is only charging me $1000... Update to owner- please dont try and justify the pricing you offered. Explain to me how running a 2ft pvc drain pipe costs $1000? I ended up doing it myself. Took less than an hour. Any company that charges per task and not per hour is clearly trying to take advantage of homeowners with little knowledge of plumbing or electrical.

Our water heater crashed and needed replacement. Dan Wood & Company sent a young man by the name of Sean Nagle. He was wonderful! Sean explained each step, the cost, the why and even the where of what he was going to do before he did it. He (as well as an additional Dan Wood employee) spent almost the entire day removing the old and installing the new. We have our own business and have been in business for over 50 years. Sean is just the type of employee we would want in our company but, we do insurance and investments and Sean is a plumber (a darned good one at that). He is one of the nicest guys we have ever met and really knows plumbing otherwise we would want to hire him in our firm. Dan Wood and Company must be very pleased with their selection of Sean as a representative of their company. John Beckwith

I called Dan Wood because Ive used them in the past and have been happy with their service and prices. This time I had a leaking pipe next to my pressure tank. Dan S came out the same day to look at it which was great and as last time he did a good job going over my options. The unfortunate part this time is the cost came out to $700!!! There was only about 2 hours of labor and the parts couldnt have been more then $50. Even when you add in the $89 fee for them showing up youre talking about $250.00 to $300.00 per hour for labor? Unfortunately my invoice wasnt itemized so I have no idea how they can up with $700.. I would highly recommend anyone looking at this company to ask what their hourly rate is and their estimated time for completion. I felt like their flat rate pricing is extremely deceiving..
