I confirm : totally helpless ... Its worse than in Russia or anywhere else where they love bureaucracy I came on Tuesday evening to open a PO box for a new business Im opening here .... Its just the 6th business that Ive opened in the US so far, 4 in Miami 2 in Michigan ... I do real estate and have a bunch of homes here with warranty deeds with my name n business on it I brought a passport a driving license (French but still) I even had a DTE bill, well all kinds of papers ... They said its "not acceptable sir" you need a physical address here .... Well Ive got one in Miami + 20more here in Michigan (rental properties) .... That was not enough for the young ladies ! They just wanted to make it complicated or they just didnt feel like working or helping today ... Bad luck ! I should have shown up another day ... Except that Im working like crazy, on 3 different projects at a time and travel from one place to the other all the time ... I have no physical address in Michigan and thats why I need a PO box there .... Why then ?? Whats the purpose of having a PO box ?

Lets see: Package was set to arrive Monday, and tracking even said "Out for Delivery". At 2 am, the package went into some state of unknown status. The following day, it was marked as redirected by me, despite my having done nothing. I called USPS corporate, and took a claim out as they had no idea where my package was. Two days later, and when I try to call my local branch, Im redirected multiple times by a computer until I get dial tone and the call simply ends. Where in the world is my package? Update! Its now a week later, and I had to open a SECOND case because no one would contact me about the package. I got a call from the Royal Oak branch FINALLY who told me they dont know where it is, and maybe its on its way back to California (maybe?). The people Ive been in contact with outside of the Royal Oak office have been courteous and helpful, and assure me they will get to the bottom of this, and I am inclined to believe them. But this doesnt change just how badly they have messed up the delivery of a small package.

Worst post office ever! Ive lived in 5 different homes with 5 different post offices and have never had issues like this. Quick summary, lost 3 packages and damaged a third. All the employees there could care less. Had CERTIFIED mail to be delivered and when i tracked the package the website said "attempted delivery" I went to pick up the package at the post office and they couldnt find it. They said they would call me when they got in contact with the postal worker on my route. They ended up never calling me back. The postal worker came by the next day with the package and even confessed that the people at the post office dont know what they are doing. If the employees at least tried then it wouldnt be so aggravating, but the apathetic attitude of everyone there makes it that much worse. Any private business operating like this would quickly close. Avoid if you can and use UPS or Fedex or anything else.

I was there at 5:03 pm and they were walking to the door to pick up the stopper and closed down. I asked if they could help me ship a small package, you would have thought I was asking for their wallets! Oh no we are two minuets over our work time and you will have to use the machine in the lobby or come back Monday. Would it have been so hard for them to let me in and close the door and help me? If I was Denzel Washington looking they might have but Im not...so no WE are clockers and WE have to leave right at 5:00 because WE are forced to do so but WE can leave at 5:00 and thats just what WE are going to do. This is what you have in the Royal Oak post office...clockers with attitude. Privatize this and these people will be gone, gone, gone. Oh yeah and these stellar reviews? They can name each one of the staff? If your not that smart Ill fill you in, they are the friends and relatives of the staff there!

TERRIBLE!!!!!!! Used this post office for the first and last time! I ship packages all over the world and i have never had an issue until I dropped off 3 small boxes at this post office. (I have tracking on all my packages and follow them step by step to make sure my customers get their items quickly) Package one took a week to the post office. Package two took 3 days to finally leave the post office. Package three still not updated and not sure where its at? The packages were never scanned by this post office they just updated from other facilities. They must have overpaid lazy employees at the Royal Oak post office, this is why Fedex is passing up the post office when it comes to shipping, truly a pathetic post office and I will never ship from them again.

I am mailing 22 packages and the lady who assisted me was extremely helpful with determing which method would be most cost effective for me based on box, shipping method and individual zip code. She was extremely polite and provided multiple scenarios and solutions I was not familiar with. I generally use Fedex on main st for majority of my shipping needs, but after my experience today I may switch back. It was quick, efficient, and she went out of her way in a timely manner to assist me. There was enough staff on the clock to make the system run smoothly, unlike fedex lately. Thank you! (She was all the way at the end teller block on the right)

I ship about 30 packages a day and really appreciate the friendly service day in and day out. Some days i come in to the Royal Oak Post Office stressed from trying to get everything packed and the warm smiles make me feel like im with friends and brightens my day. I live closer to another post office but drive the bit extra for service. I wish i could steal Shanika in particular to come work with me she is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. The smiling faces of Sincerae, Lolita, and Glenda make going to the Post Office enjoyable instead of tedious. Thanks!

Dont even bother calling this branch- they must not staff anyone to answer their phones. I dialed a dozen times where it rings non-stop and disconnects afterwards. I had a simple question- instead, I had to call the 800-ASK-USPS number to wait 25 minutes on hold with the most obnoxious loop of hold music probably designed to make people on hold want to hang up (theres no option for a rep so just keep hitting zero). Absolutely ridiculous. Why this location even bothers to post a phone number is beyond me. Either answer your phones or take the number off the site.

I have generally had a good experience with USPS, until I moved to Royal Oak. They have lost, on several occasions, important parcels including checks, documents, and ordered items. Additionally, there is no effective way to get a hold of the post office, as the phone number either is disconnected or is simply not staffed. Finally, there have been instances of the postal worker simply depositing random mail into a parcel locker rather than returning to the appropriate customer. This post office is a blight on an otherwise reasonable business.
