I have been coming here for quite a few years. Not only have I been coming here but I had a friend from school that I suggested come here and she started coming here and then I also brought my sister-in-law and mother-in-law. I come frequently at least once a month or once every two months and each time I have came I spend almost $200. I am disappointed because this last time I came I had a situation where I did not like the way my hair turned out which has happened before and each time the owner was nice enough to offer a redo. I feel like there are girls in there that are more experienced than others and I have not only verbally told girls what I wanted done but I have shown them a picture. some of the girls cannot deliver when others can. So over the past few years I have had problems where I didnt get what I was looking for which we have gotten past but this recent time I was not pleased and when I came in for a redo the owner was waiting at the door for me and was telling me its not working out and I believe she was going to tell me to go elsewhere and give me my money back. She also told me that I was cussing at her girls and that I had to have two of her customers call me down and also that four of her girls were crying. Which is not true and I told her if she has video surveillance she should check that because I was not cussing at her girls and no one asked me to calm down because I was not acting like I needed to be calm down. Fast forward through our conversation we came to the conclusion that I could either get a refund or a girl that I usually see would do my hair and fix it for me. originally I asked for the girl that I usually see to fix my hair. My appointment was on Wednesday to see this girl. Once I thought about the way that I was approached and the way that I was treated and lied about I was disappointed with them and did not want to continue to go here. I called on Monday to cancel my Wednesday appointment and ask for a refund. At that time I was told the owner was out of town in Chicago for the next two days and she would relay the message to her. Then I had the girl call me back and ask for all my information and that she would get back to me. I waited called on Friday asked to speak to the owner and she still was not available and that I should call back on Monday if I have not heard from her. Well today is Monday I called back spoke with the girl at the front desk and now they are saying because I was a "no-show" on Wednesday for my appointment that I already called in and spoke with somebody and told them that I was not coming to that they may not be able to refund me my $140.

Had the worst experience yesterday 04/28/16. I get it, its almost the end of the day but the workers did not seem to care to satisfy their customers. I went in for a simple trim and did not ask for my hair to be styled but walked out with my hair still wet and couldnt even get my hair fully dried or brushed before I left. For being a high rating, stand alone salon and letting your customers walk out with wet hair tangled is ridiculous. How can you try to be competitive with other salons letting your customers walk out with wet hair? Because blow drying completely is considered styling? I can go to borics 100 times and will always walk out with my hair fully dried, with a decent cut, and combed nicely before I walk out. I cant believe I walked out with wet hair when it was sprinkling and cold out! I cant believe I left this salon looking like I didnt even get my hair cut professionally. My boyfriend also got a cut and it was his first visit. Apparently the girl who cut his hair was fairly new but you do not cut your customers hair without giving him a mirror to look at his hair from the back to see if he was satisfied. As soon as he walked to the front he literally had lines on the back of his head. Lines meaning his hair was not even with visible lines. I even asked the reception if she notices it and she said yes. I wish I can post a picture here because I took a photo at the salon to show him how horrible it looked. Oh you bet I complained and wanted it to be fixed! She ended up fixing it and said it was because of the clippers that caused the lines. First of all, you dont let your customer leave his seat from the first place until you fix it. She let him walk away without even taking a double look. Im not sure how one can work at a salon and not think twice about how you will lose customers and down grade the salon. For being a new worker you should always do your best and build your clients. I was in a hurry to get out of there and noticed later on that she missed a few spots in the front of his hair. She used product to hold down strands she didnt cut that was completely out of the area where his hair split. I dont remember the names of these gals but Im sure the owner will know who was assigned to me by looking up my name in their system as well as my boyfriend thomas. Definitely not returning back even though Britney is one of the workers who actually did a wonderful job on my hair a few years ago, after our experience today Ill never return to studio 6.

My go-to salon in the area... I moved to Sterling Heights from Traverse City, MI and was looking for a great salon to go to. Coming from an area with many spas, I was looking for the same down here. Studio 9 seems to have everything. Whether you want a haircut, color, up-do, eyebrow wax, brazilian wax, mani/pedi, massage, makeup, facial, wedding parties, spa services, unique services and even tanning... Ive been here mainly for hair services but Im here probably once a month. Usually for a standard eyebrow wax, which Im not picky on who does them, although I am picky on how theyre done, since 80% of the time they arent done well. But every girl whod done my brows at Studio 9, have all done them well. I cant complain! When I get my hair done, I started with a cut and now my stylist talked me into getting my hair colored the way Ive been dreaming of, for the past two years.I just havent gotten around to it cause I wasnt sure exactly what color(s) to use and I wasnt sure if I wanted ombre or balayage. I ended up with balayage and added two colors plus the color I had before. I just made an appt for a touch-up. But my stylist here is amazing. She cuts my hair perfectly to what I described, better than any other stylist (in Traverse City) has done, styles it perfectly to the way I want it. And now she colors it and gives it just the right amount of depth. Her name is Frankie and she is by far one of the best stylists I ever had, if not, the best. Shes really pretty and it amazes me cause shes so young too. Shes only 21, I thought she was at least 24 or even 26. Im about a decade older than her and shes probably one of the youngest stylists who work there, but she seems a lot more skilled and very smart for her age. Plus shes one of the better stylists Ive had, and I used to live in Los Angeles and traveled many other places in the US. I definitely recommend this place and I recommend Frankie.
