Stylist- Jen A. Experience- 15+ years, Extensive Balayage knowledge and experience Amazing with color correction!!! I am a young professional, that still wants to stay on top of the latest trend. I unfortunately had a horrible experience with a salon in Ferndale and decided this time to do my research! I spent a full month in deciding on a salon alone! I narrowed it down to three top salons in the Birmingham and Royal Oak area. From there I blogged on my affiliated groups around the area and also called the Salons to find out more regarding their top stylists. For another 3 weeks I looked at photos of hair. I looked at others womans fb profiles whom said they went to the stylists. I did just about everything to ensure I was making the right decision! I became obsessed with this one appointment! I finally decided and booked my appointment. It did take a few weeks to get in, but this was good because as you all know, if you get in right away, this is the FIRST RED SIGNAL!! She was just about the most pleasant and down to earth stylist I had ever met! She is super cute and didnt make you feel uncomfortable! She actually LISTENED! I had brought in a photo of the most perfect Balayage (done by GUY TANG) and also picture perfect model hair and said I would like this! She gave me EXACTLY if not BETTER than GUY TANG (if you dont know who he is, look him up... He is like the best colorist to the stars ever). While I was there she had another client whom was telling me about her PINK BUbblegum hair that she had by Jen. She showed me a photo of it. I swear to you all that I have NEVER seen PINK hair look so good in my entire life!!!!!! This stylist is AMAZING!!!!!!!! She goes from Classic to EDGY! There is nothing she is afraid to do and it all looks amazing! I will say that you will not be disappointed! By far the best stylist I have ever met! This place is a godsend for hair lovers. A little pricey, but not that much more and SO worth every penny. Ive gotten great haircuts there, good conditioning treatments, and EXCELLENT coloring services. My first step into the the highlights world was here and they did it right. Even though I didnt like the way it looked at first (it was too dark - but thats better than being too light and more damaged!) the stylist let me schedule another appt to get my hair PERFECT - and ill agree, it was poor communication on my part but the fact that she still gave her all into me being content was what amazed me. In the middle somewhere I switched salons in order to save a little money and ended up with tragic hair! I was in tears. I Called this salon desperately explaining how I needed my hair to be fixed ASAP and was scheduled with a WONDERFUL stylist (or should I say angel!?) that fixed my hair and made me feel beautiful again. I walked out feeling gorgeous and my boyfriend was with me, wowed by her skills and efforts at transforming my hair into something amazing again. Im telling you. If you want to know youll be 100% satisfied, go with Alex Emilio. Amazing service and such great talents explains their busy days and loyal customers!

Nobody compares to Brittney at Alex Emilio! I was in desperate need of a trustworthy, talented stylist after mine moved away to Pennsylvania. While giving some new faces a try in my local community (Ann Arbor), my hair was poorly colored and even fried off at the ends by someone trying to give a Brazilian blowout. Along came Brittney at a time that I needed her most! Since I work in Royal Oak, I thought it would be best to give this salon a whirl before pulling a Britney [Spears] and shaving my head (kidding, but seriously my hair was in bad shape). First appointment was scheduled with Alex, and he was good. Next appointment was scheduled with Brittney, and shes INCREDIBLE! Really a miracle worker! Ive never gotten so many compliments on my hair, it looks healthier than ever, and the perfection of it all has boosted my confidence through the roof. If youre in need of some serious hair magic, Brittney is the only one to turn to.

I got a brazilian keratin treatment on my hair. This treatment can be difficult because when you straighten the hair you can burn it off if you do not know what you are doing. Dave did an excellent job with this treatment on my hair. He started by having me come in so he could just look at my hair and see if the treatment was right for me. When I came in again for my appointment he really took time to make sure every single strand was straight. He even gave me a complimentary trim and went out and put money in my parking meter when it was about to run out. This treatment lasts for 5 months so it is very important that it is done right. My hair has never looked better. Every morning I wake up and and my hair is already to go with minimal styling required. I highly recommend Dave for the Keratin treatment and cuts.

Went here twice. Its pricey! The receptionists are definitely pretentious, like they have to descend from upon high to work with you. The first cut was decent enough, though they were pushing me to buy extra conditioning treatments while getting my a hair washed (which kinda ruins the experience). My second cut was awful, my stylist was distracted and in a hurry; when my hair was done it was so thinned out it looked awful. My hair looked better before then after. Crappy razor cut job that left my ends looking trashed after 2 weeks. Not worth it and never again. Go here if you want thinned out hair, snotty receptionists and have conditioning products and treatments pushed on you while getting your hair washed.

Very pleasant. I always leave there with a certain buzz. No pun intended. I think it has something to do with the ambiance of the room. It is either red or white. It changes with every appointment, but the results are the same, great haircut, color, and for the first time in my life I have had my eyebrows shaped. The technician who creates a unique style for your eyebrows that are customized to the shape or your fact is uniquely talented. That area of the salon also has a unique ambiance, hard to say why, maybe it is the blue/blond combination in that area of the salon. Excellent salon that I would highly recommend.

I couldnt be more impressed with the service and quality of work done at Alex Emilio salon in Royal Oak. You truly get what you pay for. From scheduling an appointment, to the check out process, the staff is helpful, organized, and very welcoming. My stylist, April, is simply amazing. Shes intelligent, personable, and intuitive. Like most people, I have trust issues when it comes to letting someone new do my hair, but from the moment I sat down in Aprils chair last summer, I knew my hair was in skilled hands. I always leave Alex Emilio feeling confident and uplifted.

I had Ixcheil doing my hair. She was very nice and professional but didnt do the right color . I told her specifically that I want deep brown color with honey worm highlights and she did ashy blond, after I mentioned that it is not right color she corrected but still is bad and nothing like from picture I have shown her. She was very nice but I paid $194 and hate my hair. I will definitely not use her again. M
