Im very disappointed in planet fitness. I had a membership at Taylor location for about a year. Then I stopped going because I worked too much. Now that I have time I got a new member ship at the Westland location because I was working at the mall. I got it n December of last year & last week I forgot my card so I asked them to look up my name they told me I had a balanced of 99$ &( remind you I been going to the Taylor one for about a month because its closer to my house)I said how is that possible n they told me it renews after a year. I dont even have that card anymore so how can you guys renew it? They told me I cant come to that location till I pay that 99$ but I can still go to the Westland one. Also they told me Westland shouldnt of been able to even open up another account because of that balance and its their fault. So couple days ago I went there and they didnt say anything. Today I go this lady told me Im not allowed to come here until I pay that 99 from the Taylor location. Which is bullshit because they just took money out of my account yesterday. And I told them why are you just saying something now when I got this account in December? She said Taylor planet fitness called us n let us know. So Im very disappointed & I will be telling everyone not to get a member ship here & I will be canceling my account and never coming here. Plus the staff are very rude at both locations.

Dont be fooled by their clever advertising. They claim to be the "home of the Judgment Free Zone", but they are very judgmental. Grunting and/or dropping weights are against the rules (as they probably should be), but if someone does grunt or drop a weight, they call them "lunks" and they sound an obnoxious alarm called a "lunk alarm." This punishes not only the offenders, but all of the other innocent customers in the gym. Expect to hear this at least once an hour. As others have pointed out in their reviews, the staff is not very helpful. They are rigid in their thinking and dont react well to complaints and/or suggestions. Dont expect them to police the ab circuit or the 30-minute workout circuit to keep the circuit properly moving, cause its not going to happen. They have female attendants cleaning the mens locker room. When they clean, they are typically there for about an hour at a time - during regular business hours - so dont plan on showering during those times. Ive found they are slow to repair machines. I showed them a broken stirrup for a bike. Over a week later, it had not been repaired. On the positive side, except in January & February there is usually no wait for aerobic equipment and the facility is kept fairly clean.

I have been a member for years, but you wouldnt know because I do not go there very often. I dont feel welcome, the staff talks to the customers they know but ignore the ones like me who do not know anyone. I can sit there and wait for a tanning bed and no one will say a word to me until they realize that they have forgotten that I am sitting there. I just went there yesterday and the guy at the desk was new so he was actually friendly, but after the tanning bed shut off, I got dressed. cleaned the tanning bed and everything and I went to leave and he was standing outside the door, to the point where I scared him. Why was he standing outside the door, then he turns to the next woman and says "Oh! Here she comes." I was not slow. I did not take too long. Everyone was staring at me like I was doing something wrong when I wasnt and I was so embarrassed and now I REALLY dont feel welcome there. This business is supposed to be about no judgement, but I do not feel like this place is customer friendly at all with everyone that walks through that door.

I transferred to the Taylor location due to the proximity to my employer. I can hardly wait until my 90 days is up so I can transfer out! I have been to 5 different PF facilities. This one is by far the worst. People do not wipe their machines after use. My biggest issue was when I wanted to wear an elevation training mask while running. I was told it is corporate policy to not allow them. They are in the same category as a jump rope. A jump rope interferes with others space a mask bothers no one! I have worn the mask in every PF until now. Staff is friendly, but they usually dont see you since their back is turned away from the for socializing with other employees. I will be leaving this place the day Im eligible to transfer. I would never recommend this facility to anyone. Its very cramped here too. I will admit they do have clean locker rooms. If I did not have to pay to end muy black card I would leave now! If a mask is considered outside equipment so should ear buds and water bottle, same principle.

Its okay they try to be pleasant and keep a tidy gym and what not the typical things that you would expect for a gym to get secent ratings but definatly nothing special about it either the staff is friendly but not outgoing sometimes its clean sometimes its not. Sometimes u can find a piece of trash or gum in a shower and come back four days later with it still there. Im not saying during the four days they dont clean i believe they do they probably have a pretty general routine for how they do things but its not always affective alot of things are overlooked. If your looking for a decent gym this one is not too bad if your looking for a great gym it could be a let down.

I am new to Planet Fitness and my "home" location is in Southgate, but I had a sitter much closer to Taylor. So, I visited the Taylor location which was, pretty much, a completely different layout. The classes offered are different, too. I loved the womens locker room. The only thing I didnt like was that the bikes are laid out alternating types (regular & recumbent). So, when you are working out with a buddy/friend to keep you accountable, if you both want to use the same equipment, you cant sit next to each other. Other than that, it was great.

Small gym and the staff are ignorant. I went and gave them my drivers license. They still wanted me to sign in, which was ok until when i refused to put my email and birthday. Which i never put on a sheet of paper with 20 others. I do not like for my info to be in the open nor for everyone to have access to it. Why do you need my info on this paper that anyone can snap a pic of ( which i was able to because its just in the open on the counter). I refused to work out and the manager was upset when i asked him to black out my info because i was leaving.

Ive been going to this location for about a year and a half. For the most part its been a pleasent experience. Lately though, it smells like weed in the locker room. Sometimes enough people in the gym have been smoking it to the point that the entire gym reeks of weed. I have no issue with people smoking that, but the gym is no place for it. Also, there seems to be a lot more people that go there to fool around than when I first joined. Ill be canceling if these things keep up.
