Very disappointed with the work and the customer service! As a State Farm customer, I was referred to this shop as a "Preferred Provider" which includes certain perks like guaranteed timeline for work, vacuuming of car, etc. My first interaction was having my car evaluated for the work needing to be done. I was told it would take 15 min (which it did) but that they had not received the paperwork from State Farm to assign the work however they expected it end of day. Only three days later when I called was I told they needed me to reach out to State Farm. Work was assigned within an hour. Minor thing but probably an inclination of work ethic in hindsight. I asked specifically for estimate of work prior to taking it in because I wanted to ensure painting a portion of my car was not included (doing so would make the scratches elsewhere stand out). It was not on the estimate but guess what, they painted my door. And it appears they broke a portion of my door handle when removing it to paint as one part is very faded, the other looks brand new. Finally, timeline to get work done is guaranteed. A couple hours before end of business day on the day work was to be completed, I called and was told that it was not going to be done and since it was a Friday, they would need to keep my car until end of day on Monday to complete. Totally unacceptable and created a hardship. Miraculously, when I reminded them of their obligation to State Farm customers, they found some way to get the work done that day. When I went to pick up my vehicle, I was greeted by Sabrina and Larry who both were less than polite. Larry complaining that working on my brand of vehicle (Land Rover) is "always a nightmare" and that the delays were because of incorrect parts and dealerships not delivering (all things they could have communicated to me over the 4 days they had the vehicle if they felt they wouldnt be able to meet the timeline). Larry was downright rude stating that my insistence on the work being done was "costing him overtime." When I was done dealing with his attitude and called him out on it, his response was "everybody has bad days." Sadly, I think S & L just has bad business practices. Yes, everybody has bad days but the reality is that life goes on and as adults we must meet out obligations regardless. State Farm has been notified and will hopefully remove S & L as a preferred provider. i really wish I had been able to give them a glowing review as they are located close-by.

My Pontiac Vibe had some damage so we came here for an estimate. We let the man look at the car for a couple minutes then started asking him questions about the repairs and the suggestions he was giving us, (which as customers we have every right to do). All of a sudden he gets mad and walks away telling us he doesnt want to deal with it. He was not open to discussing the repairs that needed to be done. Then my dad walked back in the store and said "you sir, are an a**hole". Then the man yelled in a very threatening tone, "Get the f*** out of my store you d**kweed"- needless to say we were flabbergasted. This is not something any professional would EVER say, especially if they cared about getting business and taking care of the customer as well as their own reputation. The man had also said that we had to replace the front bumper and it could not be fixed and we questioned him on that which I think he didnt like, (right from the begining he seemed to have a chip on his shoulder.) So we went over to American Collisions Experts on m-59 and they were professional, friendly, corgile and open about what needed to be repaired , AND said that the bumper COULD be repaired rather then replaced so we gave them our business instead. They even gave us several options on parts and the route we could go. If I could give S & L Auto a 0 star rating I would. Completely unprofessional and beyond rude.

I recently took my car in to have the broken windshield replaced. The staff at S & L was very polite, courteous and worked well with my insurance company. They offered to move an existing parking permit sticker for me and even mounted my iPass to my new windshield! I will definitely return to S & L Auto Body the next time I need repairs on my vehicle.

Larry and crew are the BEST! I am not a one time customer, rather I have been bringing my work to Larry for 20 plus years! S&L have always gone above and beyond on quality and workmanship! I am their customer for life and will tell everyone I know of their excellent service!
