We tried this place because the reviews were so positive. Here was our experience: We walked in and realized it was an "order at the counter" restaurant. The order taker had a bit of a nervous, flighty, "theres too much on my plate" vibe and gave off the impression that he was recently hired and today was his first day flying solo. However, after some observation, it also seemed he might have actually been a manager or something...Anyways- We ordered, but didnt get a number to set at our table, which I thought a bit odd because it was fairly busy, but chalked it up to them having some other system of keeping everything straight. After sitting at our table for a little while, my husband takes our son to the bathroom, leaving me at the table by myself. During that time, I see a food runner carrying a plate of pancakes around and asking a couple different tables if they ordered them along with eggs benedict, but he did not approach our table. Im assuming it was because I was sitting alone. Then food runner disappears for a couple of minutes. During that time, son and husband have returned. If I was a little dubious before, Im now uncomfortable with their ordering process and not so confident in their ability to get us our order correctly. Next, I see food runner asking cashier about where to go with something. He points him in our direction. My eggs Benedict arrive. Food drop is incredibly quick. Then my sons pancake and my husbands breakfast comes, but without the side of pancakes that came with his meal. Again, quick drop, without being asked if we needed anything else. I go find my own ketchup. My son does not have any butter for his pancakes. After a few minutes, we catch the food droppers attention as he is delivering pancakes to another table that we still need pancakes to complete husbands meal. They are brought out immediately (I hope they werent the same ones I had seen circulating around initially while husband and son were in bathroom). Those had enough butter for sons pancakes too, so we were good to go. The food itself was decent. My husband thought the pancakes were really good. My hollandaise was broken, but still tasted good. Obviously, I think the service needs work. I dont like having to be to feel like I have to be proactive to make sure we get our order and get it right. Had the food runner not been a 19 year old who couldnt be mustered up enough to care, the lack of organized service might be stressful for the servers as well. Were not in a hurry to be repeat customers, but despite the chaotic food delivery, we may be open to giving them another shot and trying some of their more sweet breakfast items, going earlier when its less busy, and making sure we get a number to set at our table (they do have them, but use inconsistently I guess- we did see people with numbers who arrived after us). Because there seems to be such positive reviews about the service, Im guessing our experience was an outlier? Maybe others consider it part of the experience?

What a hidden gem! Berry Sweet Kitchen took over the old Nokomis Grill not too long ago, and they fill the spot well. The menu is comprised of an assortment of traditional breakfast and lunch options; however most options have a slight unique twist but still maintain the delicious home style cooking flavor. A few highlights include homemade juice, jam, bread, and desserts. The food has always been fresh, hot, and very flavorful. If they run out of an item, the owner/chef is quick to accommodate any replacement. The restaurant still maintains the old Nokomis grill decor, which I imagine Berry Sweet will replace when they are more established. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Eat here soon!

3 times customer, 2 time bitten. I will not go back here. The person at the counter overcharged me for my order one time, when I corrected her (politely) she acted like it was my fault; rolled her eyes, asked for help with blame put on me. The second time the same cashier took my order to go and I was shorted on the gravy and the lids werent sealed tight and ended up spilling in the bag. In the pictures (3 biscuits 2 gravies with the spillage) the second picture is me pouring the gravy out of the bag so I could eat. I was starving and now I am furious. I am NEVER going back there. Unacceptable, trash tier service.

The food is absolutely amazing. French Toast, Breakfast Burrito, and Cubano breakfast are my favorite. I love this place only advice I would offer is for them to get real systems in place, hosting and waiting staff for the sit in business, the line and taking orders at the counter can put a damper for those new customers who arent willing to wait for a line at the door with empty tables in the dining room. I would also suggest another point of sale system, the faster you get people paying the more money you can take in. Systems could be better but I give them 5 stars for quality over time any day. Thanks

Left us in an embarrassing spot with out of town guests as they failed to update Facebook or website as promised for their Easter plans. I spoke with them three different times and they refused taking a reservation and instructed me to simply call half hour before arrival and they would be ready for us. Any further information about Easter would be posted in Facebook or their website. They were closed. Thankfully Red Stash was able to make room for my large party last minute.

This is our favorite place to go for breakfast! Their homemade jam is amazing and the fresh baked bread is great too! Everything weve tried there is great! They do a buffet on both Mothers Day and Fathers Day that includes some of their top selling items. One of my favorites is the banana foster french toast! The desserts and pastries are amazing too! The customer service is wonderful. They are family owned and treat everyone who walks through the door like family too.

You will enjoy an excellent breakfast, brunch or sandwich here where most everything is made in house. Pastries and treats are a treasure. A friendly atmosphere and helpful staff for your enjoyment. Quiet environment permits a peaceful conversation. Recently used Berry Sweet to cater for 200 people and the food provided was delicious. Delivered in a timely manner, hot and ready to serve. Deserts and baked goods are as good as can be found. Truely a one stop caterer.

First off -- solid coffee. Friendly staff explained to order at the counter. Started with a complimentary sample of the homemade toast w/ whipped cream and raspberry sauce. Enjoyed the salmon scramble and a special, savory waffle with egg, kielbasa and mixed greens. All was unique and tasty. We will return if we get the chance. As out-of-towners we discovered while driving by as map search for restaurants shows defunct Nokomis Cafe.

The service was horrible, people who ordered after us got their food before us (8 people to be exact). When we did get our food my wifes looked like it was sitting under a heat lamp, mine looked rushed. My food the Cuban breakfast was bland, the black beans looked like they came straight from the can, nothing else was to extravagant. Save yourself the disappointment and go to Hot Plate on the other side of Nokomis
