Our sewer line backed up when we ran the washing machine two days in a row. We googled Plumber Minneapolis and Roto-Rooter came up with very good reviews. We had used them in the past and remembered we had to take out the basement toilet to access the line as someone had built walls by the proper clean-out. Rajid came out and snaked the line. While he was here, he said something didnt seem right and recommended having a camera put through the line. We called Josh at the number he gave us and set up an appointment for the next day. Josh was very professional and explained the whole process as we watched the camera with him. We had 30 feet of pipe in a belly filled with water, which explains why this drain had backed up every few years. Josh said the estimate included adding clean-outs in the yard so if ever there was a need for further service the plumbers wouldnt even have to come in the house. He gave us an estimate and, while no one wants to spend money on this kind of work, the quote was quite competitive with numbers I found on the web. He was also able to credit us the camera and snake work already done. We scheduled the sewer line work for Monday morning. The crew was very professional and I appreciated their adherence to OSHA work standards. By the end of the first day, they discovered our problem was created when the house was built in 1961. The builder left a sag in the pipe instead of properly grading to the sewer main under the street. Josh came back and we agreed we had to dig up the street to properly resolve the problem. Our project took several days to complete because they had to block off the street. Randy, the foreman, took initiative to explain the process and let us know what was next. The weather was terribly hot but this crew worked diligently to complete the project. They asked us not to flush during the day but re-connected us every evening and we couldnt use the washer for several days. I would recommend Roto-Rooter to anyone for their fair price and professional workers. They cleaned up the site very well. We have peace of mind that our sewer will not back up anymore because they fixed the grade in the pipe. Thank you Josh, Randy and team.

The service was good, arrived when promised both times. However, There was a problem the drain hose from the water softener was broken. This caused me to use our wet/dry vacuum to remove about sixty gallons of water from the basement floor. My wife was the only one home at the time of the first visit and Dave had my wife come downstairs to witness the water on the basement floor. It was clear and my wife questioned whether it was from the drain. When I got home after work I found all the water on the basement floor. Three days later, I found more water on the basement floor. I poured water down the floor drain and found it rose to the top and went down slowly. I phoned Roto-Rooter again the fix the problem. Dan came on the second visit and informed me this was a different drain than the one Dave had cleared and I would have to pay an additional charge. We agreed to pay the additional charge to correct this problem. When Dan was all done, it came time to move the drain hoses back into the floor drain. I discovered that the water softener drain hose was disconnected because it had broken. This was the cause of the water on the basement floor. I went to the hardware store and replaced the drain hose. To review, the original problem, Plugged main drain, was repaired satisfactorily the first time by Dave. The broken water softener drain line was repaired by me, three days later while helping with the drain lines at the end of Dans service. The water softener drain was slow so the extra service was necessary. The issue is the water on the basement floor on the first visit. Dave did not investigated to find the cause of the problem. My wife asked to him to cleanup and he was not equipped to help with this problem. Clean water on the basement floor indicated some kind of a plumbing issue. This was not addressed on the initial visit. We had more than one problem. I expected more than one issue would addressed if other problems were found. This was not the case.

This company is a joke! I dont even think it is legit. Probably some kids created a website to prank people. DO NOT waste your time! First time I called Friday around noon. Been told that plumbing cannot be done after 5 pm and only available time slot is Saturday 4-6 pm. I couldnt do Saturday night so I said - let me check my schedule and Ill call you back. Called back one hour later. Spoke with another person who said that they CAN come after 5pm, no need to wait till Saturday. She apologized for misinforming me and said that someone can be at my house Friday between 6-8pm. She put me on hold to double check and said - yes, maam , no problem we can help you tonight. I left my work to be at home that evening for the service. At 7:47pm I got a call, third person on the phone - asked all the same questions about the problem and then said - nope, sorry, we CANNOT help you tonight because plumbing cant be done after 5pm! Very frustrating! I said - I called you at noon today and now it is almost 8 pm, I could of called other plumbing services to get the job done because I am not available Saturday night - the only your available time slot. Gloria ( 3d person on the phone) said - oh no, we do have morning available also! No worries. We can be at your house tomorrow, Saturday between 8-11 am. I was surprised. I said - are you sure? Ive been told that you cant. She assured me that someone will be at my house Saturday morning. I called work and said that Saturday I will be coming in later because I have to be at home. And guess what? The 4th person from Roto Rooter called me Saturday morning , asked all the same questions about the job needs to be done and CANCELLED again! Unbelievable! Do not read testimonials on their website when they can control what to display and what to delete. I bet all their family members left very inspiring feed back. Check independent websites like Yelp and protect yourself from a lousy service and wasting your time This company is a joke!

Me and my fiance just moved into our newly flipped home about 2 months ago. This week, we noticed that our basement shower drain was backing up with dirty sewage water and what appeared to be toilet paper! I contacted Roto-Rooter today at 10:30 am. Within 1 hour, Brian arrived at our home in Saint Louis Park. I showed Brian our situation, and he began to explain the steps he would be taking to determine the problem. After troubleshooting the drains in the basement bathroom, Brian determined that our problem was with the outside sewage drain to the city sewers. Brian even saved me $140 by letting me cut away an opening inside an newly installed vanity to reach the main sewage valve! Brian got to chipping away the sewage valve, which had been rusted from being over 60 years old. The entire time he explained to me different preventative measures we can take to ensure that our pipes remain clean and unclogged within the home. Brian then went and got "The Main Water Snake". Which looks like something right out of a horror movie. Brian gave me a brief history lesson on how the snake was invented in Des Moines, Iowa, and began hooking it up to snake through our sewer line. The two prong razor was able to cut through some tree roots that had breached the main sewer pipe. After about 15 minutes, the water immediately started draining and working properly again. Brian packed up his things and loaded them into the truck. Brian recapped the work order with me and was even able to help me locate a $50 off coupon, which bought me free preventative pipe cleaner! All in all, Brian saved us one heck of a mess and was out of our place within 1 1/2 hours! Thanks Roto-Rooter for saving the day!!!
