I have been taking cars here to Sears Imported Auto Body for the better part of 8 years, but this last experience has prompted me to actually write down a review. the first jobs I had done there when big Mike was still alive were superb. Factory indistinguishable and help up great. perfect panel gaps, the whole nine yards. Most recently, I had my car in for estimates at Sears, LaMettrys EP, and Minnetonka Collision after I was backed into. Sears came in the least expensive on the estimate and I had good work in the past, so I went with it. Big mistake. I got the car back on time, and they did use genuine parts, but they had not only exceeded the estimate, they had FAR exceeded every estimate I got on the car before the repair by a healthy margin ($1700 more than estimate). The panel gaps were so awful I had to bring the car back and live without it for another week while they were somewhat corrected. Theyre still WAY outside of factory specification, and actually are worse than they were when I brought it in crashed still, livable so I let it be. The LH headlight was replaced with an original BMW part which was nice, but the right side was still the 15 year old original plastic lens unit.. the miss match made the car look like a prior salvage it was so bad. no mention or even attempt to polish out the old light when requested, something I paid for elsewhere and had a great experience with after the fact. about a month after getting the car back, the clearcoat started peeling on my fresh sears paintwork (which other than this, had honestly been stunningly gorgeous paint work. I brought the car back in to have this corrected only to have the writer tell me that the mirrors were never painted and were removed from the car while the doors were belnded.. something that requires door panel removal on my car, and the panels (I can prove this) have never, ever been removed from my car since it left the factory. I picked the car up, very upset with the body shop, I will never return there, and I have/will stop referring business there. do yourself a favor and go to any other body shop in the area. you WILL have better work done elsewhere. saddens me to say, but this place is DOA since big Mike died.

If you want long wait times and awful repair quality, look no further. I was without a truck for 30 days for a repair that should have taken far less than a month. Upon getting it back, they installed the wipers wrong and reinstalled broken parts back onto my truck. Within 2 weeks Ive discovered water leaking from the A-pillar. It went back for repairs once already but is still leaking water from the same spot. It also has water sloshing in the door now. Ive been patient, but now I have to go back a third time for repairs.

Great work painting. Work was to repair damage to a powder blue metallic paint that 3 different estimators would be difficult to match & blend. I was referred here by a dent specialist who said the damage was beyond their ability to fix correctly - and that these guys were known for high quality paint work. They did not disappoint. Work was on time (a day early), on estimate and the car was returned with the inside nicely cleaned.

I took my 2013 MINI Cooper Coupe here to get a nasty dent removed. The shop did a great job with color matching and paint and body work. Price was well under several big name shops by a few hundred. Recommended.
