I normally do not give bad reviews, but this time I just have to do it... I have been a loyal client of Joses for two years now. I absolutely love the way he does my hair. Not only my own hair, but I also bring my preteen daughter with me to get her hair done too. We both get many compliments on our hair. I always make our next hair appointment six weeks in advance. I know it is hard to get appointments with Jose, so I know I have to book well in advance in order to get the slot that is convenient for me. Yesterday I had an appointment for both my daughter and I at 6:30 pm. When we walked in the salon Jose seemed surprised to see us. He walked over to the computer to verify that we did indeed have an appointment at that time. Then he proceeded to let me know that he was busy with another client and was behind schedule. We decided to wait. Big mistake! Both my daughter and I waited for a WHOLE HOUR. Not once during the long wait did we receive an apology. We even had to ask for magazines to read as there were none provided on the table in their lobby area. After waiting that long, I was so seething mad and knew that there was no way I could be satisfied with any service that he would provide no matter how good it was. We got up and left. After we had already gotten outside the door, the owner followed us and offered to comp us both our haircuts. She wanted me to come back later that night or the next morning so she could provide the service herself. No way would I ever allow anyone to give me a free haircut in order to fulfill a perceived wrong. And how awkward would that be to sit in the chair next to the hairdresser that I was upset with while I was getting my free haircut? I refused her attempts at an apology. I just cannot not patronize a business that does not respect their customers time. What is the point of scheduling an appointment if you cannot adhere to it? I would totally understand 10, 15, or even 20 minutes...but 60+? That is unforgivable in my book. They have lost me as a client.

I would highly recommend Gloria Jones at City Looks Salon in Richfield (in the Hub). 612-861-2091. Gloria is the owner of the Salon. I had been getting my hair cut at one of the more expensive salons in the area. They did a great job, but it was just too expensive for me! $120 plus tip is just out of my budget. So my sister and I both gave Gloria a try on the same day. First of all, the color: I have never received a more natural color before. I am 54 now and in the past I have had trouble with my hair color being too yellow (or turning too yellow after a month or two) which doesnt make me look my best. She just looked at me and picked the right color based on her 30 years of experience. Its been two months now and my hair is the same color as when I had it done. Then, the cut: Usually I have a stylist that doesnt know what to do with my hair and asks me what I would like. What do I know? I just want it to look good, right? Usually they end up saying "What about some layers?", which I guess must be the default cut for people who dont know exactly what they want. My hair has natural wave/curl to it. Gloria really did the best cut that I ever remember getting because it brought out my natural curl. I really love the cut!! She also gave me detailed instructions on how to style it! My sister also loved her cut and looked absolutely fabulous. Note: I am not related to or friends with Gloria. I just really liked her work.

This salon cant be beat, in expertise and all around good vibes. Gloria gives me a perfect cut every time, and even though Ive been going to her every 4-6 weeks for many years, she still always asks me what Id like, makes sure the last cut worked for me, and indulges my love of subtle variations. I know from others and from what I see that everyone else at City Looks is just as meticulous and gifted. The salon is super clean, friendly and a place of artistry staffed by people youll get to know and really like.

I recently went there and became a new client of Claires. She is amazing! She was attentive and did exactly what I was hoping for from the picture I brought. The salon was clean and all the other stylists were very polite and social. I did a purple highlight and the color is still going strong. The previous salon I used the color didnt last at all. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone, especially for fantasy color. Claire you rock!

Just recently got my hair done at City Looks-LOVE IT!! Gloria is a whiz at coloring/cutting. I brought in a picture of the look I wanted and she nailed it!! Shaneka gave me the best blowout and style that Ive ever had.. I felt like I was in Manhattan! These people are experts and it shows. They are also extremely friendly and fun!! Ive been going to City Looks since I moved here almost a year ago. Jose does my hair and hes always willing to work with me since I wear my hair short and lets me know what style would look good and what highlights will work for me. Gloria does my Moms hair. I like the fact that she takes her time with her since shes 90. They work well together cause Mom lets Gloria know she wants her perm and cut.

Jose did an amazing job. I had somewhat of an idea of how I wanted my hair cut, but he definitely made some amazing changes and it turned out great. Lacey did an awesome makeover job on my hair. I had just below the shoulder length hair and was always pulling it up in a pony tail. I asked for a cut and color too short for a pony tail but not too short. My husband loves the new style and color! Thanks Lacey!!
