In December 2010, I purchased a voucher through Plum District for $50 for $100 worth of cleaning by EcoMaids. I was expected to pay the balance. When I found out I was pregnant and moving to a bigger place, I negotiated a different expiration date and scheduled their services for my new house. I explicitly told them to contact my husband with their estimated arrival time and gave them his contact information and name. Instead, they emailed me that they would be early but called him on the phone and told him that they would be late. (I did not get their email because I had just given birth to a premature baby.) Then, they told my husband that they would take 3 hours. I had explicitly instructed them that my mother would go there on my behalf while they were cleaning to ensure that our expectations were met. They did not wait for her and did not stay 3 hours. Their own note says that they left early. They did not clean the blinds, moldings, shelves, cabinets, and drawers as they were instructed to in writing. They said they thought they were OK leaving early because they told the guy that was in the house. That guy was a high schooler helping us move! He did not have the authority to OK their departure and probably has no idea that he was construed to have done so. Between my payment for the original voucher and my expected payment of $53.30 for the balance, I will have paid more than $100--which they think is worth more than $150 because my original $50 was for $100 worth of services--for almost nothing.

Ecomaids is really wonderful. Heres why: 1. They consistently did a great job! While I know they tried to keep me with the same team, that wasnt always possible due to scheduling. However, I was always happy with the job they did. The house looked beautiful, and it was super eco-friendly. There were no chemical fumes or perfume residues. Just nice and clean! They always came on-time. And, they were consistent! Ive had some good cleaning from other services, but over time they werent consistent. Ecomaids is great, every time. 2. They are friendly: everyone from the administrative staff and the owner to the individual cleaners that came to my house were kind and friendly! This was important to me; I like to like the people that I let in my house. Furthermore, I was home, recovering from surgery, and I appreciated their kindness. 3. They are flexible! With ecomaids, you can customize various levels of service to fit your budgets and your needs. Youre not locked into any particular sequence of services, and you can add on things a la carte, as needed. Other cleaners wouldnt help me with that flexibility, so I really appreciate it. I thought the owner was always kind and gracious. I was very happy with their service and would highly recommend them.

I take care of my house, but it needed some extra help. I had a roommate move out, and I had high traffic areas that needed special attention (i.e. kitchen, bathroom and fridge). I literally hugged the cleaners when they were done. My refrigerator, which needed a lot of help, looked like new. My bathroom floor and tub, which had seen little cleaning since the bath was rarely used, gleamed. And my kitchen was spotless. This was exactly what I needed as a full time office worker and full time student. It brought my house cleaning back to neutral, so to speak, so I could keep up the cleanliness on my own. I plan to have them come back on a regular basis for general upkeep, and am so happy with the service I received! I also really appreciated the fact that the cleaning products used are eco-friendly. My 18 month old nephew visits often, and I know there will be no harmful cleaning product residue around. Thanks EcoMaids!!

After three visits by the Ecomaids team, I absolutely would not recommend these cleaners. Despite requests to vacuum my furniture (and agreeing to pay a surcharge for them to do so), this service was not performed. Moreover, even if you have them come more frequently, they will consistently charge you the initial rate quoted - case in point, when I had the team come 9 days after the last cleaning to help me prepare for an event in my home, I will still charged a monthly cleaning rate. When I complained, I was informed that "their system doesnt allow them to process refunds." Eek. While its great that they use ecofriendly cleaning materials, the quality just isnt there - in their cleaning or their customer service.

I normally do not take the time to write reviews about anything but really felt compelled to do so for Ecomaids. They have consistently exceeded my expectations! That is a rare thing that I have encountered with businesses and after about 1.5 years of using them for my monthly cleanings I truly feel they deserve a wonderful review. From the initial phone call inquiry to the initial cost quote to the monthly cleanings to the regular follow ups, everything has consistently been very professional and thorough. I can really tell that the entire team cares about the quality of work done. Keep up the great work!!

Not impressed. The Yelp reviews are more honest. I paid for a move-in clean primarily because I wanted the drawers and cabinets in my new house wiped down. The maids came late. My husband told them what to focus on and but he needed to leave to finish up the move. The maids ended up leaving earlier than anticipated because the job didnt take as long as they though. Turns out it didnt take as long as they though because they didnt do anything we requested! Im still wiping down cabinets (that I havent used) and coming up with brown paper towels.

My wife and I have had the luxury of using EcoMaids for 1.5 years on two different properties and have received nothing short of outstanding results. Outside of the monthly cleanings, we also used EcoMaids for a move-out cleaning and the house looked amazing. The tenants raved about how spotless the house was upon move-in. If you don’t enjoy or have time to thoroughly clean your house, especially the deep cleaning in the kitchen and bathrooms, I would highly recommend trying EcoMaids. You won’t regret it!

I have been using EcoMaids for over a year and could not be happier. My husband and I look forward to their visits and are so happy to come back to a clean, fresh home. I love that they email me in advance to remind me of their cleanings. Each encounter has been great; the staff is friendly and professional, we couldnt ask for more!
