I visited Moxie for the first time this afternoon. I was scheduled with Becca for a haircut. I was getting bored with my current hair style and was considering chopping it into an angled bob. After having a good long conversation with Becca about her opinions, I decided to give her artistic freedom to improve the length I currently had. She have me LOTS of layers and bangs. I have never really had layers before. I am very pleasantly surprised how well the layers fit my face and am glad I didnt have to sacrifice the length I had worked so long to get. I would recommend Becca for her thoughtful ideas and openness to customers hair issues. I will be a returning customer. One issue I had with the salon appointment policy is that because of juggling another client my appointment time was late by 15 min. I was told they book color treatments for 45 min and then do a haircut in between the processing time of the color. That meant that all the time was not spent with me during my haircut, but addressing the needs of the previous client getting her hair colored too. Not Beccas fault since that is the salons program. I would hope that in the future, the salon could work that out differently.

Ive heard such rave reviews about Moxie and I have to say I was a little disappointed. When I booked my appointment, the woman on the phone told me that the only person available was a girl in training. I was hesitant to schedule with her because Ive heard some horror stories about trainee stylists, but the woman on the phone convinced me that she trusted her completely and she was very good, so I booked a cut and color. I asked to lighten up my hair but make it look as natural as possible, and what I ended up with was practically completely blonde hair at the bottom, and my dark brown hair at the top with yellowish-orangey streaks in it. Gross. The bottom color looked okay but the contrast was icky and Im going to get it fixed today. Maybe the other stylists are much better, but definitely dont book with anyone in training. Also, the place was a little dirty (there was still cut hair on the floor below me that wasnt mine) and the girls there did not dress very professionally (one of them was wearing sweatpants to work). I dont really get what all the fuss is about. This place definitely did not meet my expectations.

Ive been going to Moxie for quite a few years now, but once my hairstylist left, ive been trying to find another "regular" so I can stay at moxie because I loved it so much. This last haircut I had was bad...I got it cut by Leah who claimed to know how to cut curly hair, but to my dismay she ended up giving me a modifyed mullet, PLUS I was in and out of the salon in 30 minutes. It felt rushed and sloppy, and after washing it myself, I was extremely upset at how it looked, so I called to see if I could get a refund. I called the Midtown moxie and spoke to Desiray, the assistant manager, and she was SO nice and understanding. She couldnt give me a full refund, but she was able to give me salon credit for products or what-not, which was really nice. She was a pleasure to talk to, and didnt make me feel bad for having a problem with my haircut. So, as Ive had about 6 years of experience going to Moxie, ive had good and bad experiences there. I dont have any ill-regrets, and the salon management were a pleasure to talk to. 5 stars to customer service, 2 stars for haircut.

I had been going to Moxie for about a year to my regular stylist Hazel. I had pre-booked an appointment with her at my last haircut. I was very surprised when I recieved a call from moxie TELLING ME what day and time my appointment had been moved to, with a stylist I had never heard of because Hazel was no longer there. What kind of business does this to their clients?! I was recently able to find her on the internet and luckily shes just down the street at the loft salon. Overall, I am not impressed with moxie. They must have a management issue if they cant hold on to their stylists because my friends have had similar issues after finally becoming comfortable with their stylist. Save your money and dont support a company that is managed this poorly.

I went for the first and last time a little less than a week ago. I like the place and the stylist, but the price to just get my hair cut was ridiculous. My hair looked good for a couple days, but once I washed it, I noticed how bad it was. I asked about doing an asymmetrical cut (which Ive had and loved before), but this just looks like I cut it myself. Its all over the place. Completely crooked. Also dont go here if you want to be daring. They were afraid to cut my hair as short as I wanted because they didnt want me to leave a bad review if I was upset over losing my long hair. Im not upset over losing my long tresses. Im upset over wasting $50+ on a haircut I couldve given myself.

i just went to see marina, who for some reason got a bad review about bangs, which is one of the best things about my fantastic new hairstyle. i walked in with a vague idea, and mentioned short and asymmetrical, and she gave me the best haircut i have had in the last 6 years. i love this place, and the hot towel and essential oils while i got my hair washed was so incredibly nice. i was relaxed, and trusted she would do a good job, and i was rewarded with great service, a fantastic hair cut and no regrets. i highly recommend marina if you are looking for a great asymmetrical womens haircut.

I love moxie salon. Ive been going here for about 7 years now & I always feel welcome and heard. Its a positive, laid back environment with unique & talented stylists who care about giving you what you want. Becca is my regular stylist & I just love her. Ive gotten to know her over the years, so getting a haircut now is just like visiting a friend. A few times when she was booked up or out, Ive seen other stylists & theyre all great. Stephen, the owner, is crazy talented yet so personable & down to earth. I cant recommend this place enough.

Ive struggled to find a hairstylist that I really like. Tracy at moxie is amazing, she reached out to me before the appointment to understand exactly what I was looking for, and had another conversation with me at the salon before my appointment to see what I was envisioning for my hair. I get compliments on it all the time and LOVE my hair. She was extremely friendly and easy to talk to, such a relaxed environment and friendly staff! I highly recommend Tracy to anyone looking for a great stylist!

Ive been getting haircuts from Tracy for about a year. The experience has been great. Shes really professional, detail oriented, and pleasant to be around. The haircuts are great too. The best compliment I got for a haircut was that I looked like Leon Lai, one of Hong Kongs Four Heavenly Kings. Personally, I wouldve preferred Aaron Kwok, but thats out of Tracys hands. If youre an Asian guy and you want to look like Chinese pop royalty, give Tracy at Moxie a call.
