Spent over $700, wanted pastel pink hair came out with tons of yellow. I went back and they tried to tell me it was because my hair is too healthy and that "in order for it to be pastel there has to be yellow in it". Im not an idiot, I know how colors work. I would understand if it was yellowish all over but it wasnt. It was blotchy because they didnt do their job correctly. I didnt like their attitude and the fact that they dont know how to handle my hair type. They yanked on my hair for hours. (I was there for six plus hours) They also changed what they originally said they would do to my hair and added in foils without telling me how much they were charging me for them. They took advantage of me and treated me like an idiot. I was so pissed I couldnt even stand to go back and have them fix it. I thought they were supposed to be professionals. I did it myself and it looks 1,000 times better. Im disgusted by how much they lied to me. Their attitude is: "If you dont like how your hair turns out its your fault"

I love this place. I get my hair cut and colored by the owner. Fantastic. I live in Altoona, but vacation in Scottsdale, Arizona and Steamboat Springs Colorado. Everywhere I go I get compliments on my hair. I have to smile because I know I paid a fraction of the cost for my great color and cut compared to what they pay in those areas! I have total faith in these people. I wore my hair long for most of my life. When I decided to go short, I knew Hair F/X was the place to go for a big change. I now love my short hair! The style is perfect for me, and again, I get tons of compliments. I now make my appointments well in advance, but if something comes up and I have to change my time or date; everyone works hard to accommodate me. I really appreciate that too. I wouldnt go anywhere else. Highly recommend it.

Spent over $100 for a color, wanted a med/light brown and ended up with BLACK hair!. I went back a week later, after washing out as much of the color as I could, to get it corrected/fix and the owner and the stylist were getting an ATTITUDE w me for not liking my hair & giving me "color advice" that my hair was actually brown & not black....even tho over 15 people even told me my hair was black. As I was getting my hair fixed by my "tier 2" stylist, another tier 2 stylist came to "help" but to only be tugging and pulling on my hair! HORRIBLE experience and would NEVER recommend this place to ANYONE!

Spent 3 and a half hours to get my hair done and when it was finished it wasnt near what I had wanted. The stylist was rude. I tried to get in contact with the owner and no luck. Dont waste your time or money going here. They charge too much and just do whatever they want with your hair.

Staff is courteous, listens and is honest with having realistic expectations (you CANNOT change hair color in one sitting for $100!!!). Best place ever - wouldnt go anywhere else!
