We love this gym! Weve attended for two years (summers), and Ive been so impressed. I was a gymnast myself for 15 years, and taught gymnastics for a while... So Ive seen a variety of different gyms. Jons gym is the best Ive been in... Excellent coaching from the top team down to the littles, great learning environment, positive music playing, great equipment, two parent observation areas, and flexible scheduling and billing. Ive brought my daughter to several different days of the week (he allows you to make up days you miss), and Im impressed that Jon is engaged with the kids at all the skill levels each day weve been there. He truly seems to care about these kids, whether theyre the Beginners or the Team. The coaches all seem actively engaged with the kids, with lots of encouragement and important positive gymnastics reminders (straight legs, hands posed, strong arms, etc). I highly recommend his gym, and i feel confused by the couple poor reviews on here. During the many classes Ive been in the gym for, Ive not once noticed Jon yell at someone. In fact, once a young girl got scared to try again after falling, and Jon stepped away from what he was doing to encourage her, and gave her stuffed animal to snuggle while she regained her courage. He seems evenly engaged with all the gymnasts. Thats not saying what the negative reviewers mentioned didnt happen, but it certainly doesnt seem consistent with what Ive observed the many many times Ive been there (& i stay the whole class). In fact, several times Ive visited with other observing parents standing next to me, and Ive only heard very positive feedback. I have only been impressed up to this point, and highly recommend Jon Anstett Gymnastics.

Jons gym was not a positive environment. He picked a few girls that were his favorite and was constantly yelling at girls for no reason. He told young girls that they were trying to ruin his program. My daughter came home very upset some nights because he was so rude. After a while he even started to ignore her and wouldnt help her. He is not a good coach and he doesnt even know very much about gymnastics. He shows no respect for the girls or the coaches, he told one coach to "shut up" or would even sometimes shove them. Please save your time and dont make the mistake of going to this gym.

I go their for open gym because there is no other place to go. His open gym is only Fridays and has so much rules that its hard to even have fun. Sometimes he is OK and other times he just yells at you.

If you are one of his favorite students, you will have a great experience! If not he will barely pay attention or care.
