I read the reviews and was not expecting a whole lot given several bad reviews here. I have a 60 minute massage that I got through a livingsocial deal. My masseuse was Bridget and she was great. I arrived 15 minutes early, filled out my paperwork, was served tea while I filled it out, and my appointment started on time. Yes it is an older sort of weird building, yes the massage table was in a little room upstairs, but I thought it was all nicely done. I liked the cozy room and did not find it too noisy. My masseuse was professional and in addition to providing a great massage, she did a nice job of listening to what I wanted (to just zone out for an hour!). Some of the reviews here suggest that those buying half-price deals expect a superb salon or spa experience. The reality is that the businesses that are providing absolutely perfect experiences in every way (salon/spa decor, the utmost of high quality services, absolute professionalism and management) are booked up all the time and have no need to drive business with groupon/crowdcut/livingsocial/etc deals. If you are buying one of these deals, you are essentially saying that you arent willing to pay for those master salon/spa experience and should adjust your expectations accordingly. Overall, this place provided a better experience than Ive had at a lot of places where I pay full price for the same service.

Im beginning to wonder if some of these reviews arent coming from the local competitions. Who leaves a 600 word review? I have been a client of Colleen & Company for many years and I can tell you they have good people working there. Of course, as is the case in any salon, there can be the occasional dud, but they are always weeded out quickly. There are people who have worked here for a very long time and have a long-standing clientele. These reviews are unfair to them and give people the wrong idea of a charming, lovely place. It is true that the building is old. But, the owners have done remarkable things with the redecoarating of it. It has a uniqueness you dont find elsewhere. Not like the cold, cookie-cutter salons that you find in a strip mall. The bathroom is not "closet-like", it is normal sized. And the rooms in the upstairs are quaint and adorably decorated. They do need air conditioners because the building is old and doesnt have central air reaching up there. If youd rather get your massage in a 100 degree room, thats your perogative. I just want people to remember that you cant always believe what you read, and there are vindictive people out there trying to win your business over by slandering the local competition. I say give Colleen & Company a chance, and form your own opinion. Thats what really counts anyway.

I have been here two times. The first time was for a facail, which overall was okay. The second time was for a massage, which was not so great. The massage was the longest massage of my life. I was never asked what level of pressure I prefer, therefore she took it upon herself to do a really deep tissue massage that left me feeling very sore. I asked her a couple times throughout the massage to do lighter pressure, which she agreed to, however would just ultimately ended up back at the nearly intolerable pressure that made me sore. I went there for a relaxation massage and left there everything but relaxed. My biggest problem was the receptionist, she had a major attitude and barely spoke two words to me. Although I arrived 15 minutes early for my appt, I sat there for 15 miunutes after my appt time. There was never an apology offered, or even an update from the receptionist. She seemed more into her looks than good customer service. I went to this salon two times, both because of Living social and Crowd cut deals, however I cant ever see myself going back. The inside is old, but cute, however it lacks spa quality and the receptionist needs a new gig asap!!

AWFUL! THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED TO CALL THIS AN AVEDA CONCEPT SALON! I too purchased a groupon deal ( Actually, I dont think that you could even blame it on a coupon) and it was a JOKE! like the above comments.....the staff was so unprofessional, ill leave it at that or ill run out of comment space, enough said! I feel double robbed, I purchased 2 deals, 1 for myself and 1 for my daughter. They offered a dual massage, which consisted of my daughter on an ok massage table and me on a OLD, BEAT, ARMY COT. I MUST ALSO ADD...It felt extremly dirty. I had a great facial by an older woman years ago , at their old location, followed by a massage appointment that I was stood-up for the 1st two times that I showed up. lt was one bad experience after the next! After a bad experience I normally just dont return but this has built up over ther years of BAD experiences and I keep seeing these discount sites advertising Colleen & Company ( this is their last resort to drag in business, but you can expect to be treated like a coupon customer!) Colleen & Company is a major fail , time and time again, they get a big fat F from me! Never again!

This was the most unprofessional "spa" experience I have ever had. I was not greeted when I entered the building. I stood in front of the desk for about 25 seconds, waiting to be acknowledged as the receptionist carried on with a personal phone conversation. My nail service was performed in a cramped front room. The technician lacked any skill- she filed each nail to a different length and shape and cut a cuticle so far down that I bled. After the cuticles were trimmed, she dipped my hands in the wax pot, which only contained enough wax to cover each palm. We returned to the table, where she took the towel covered in my cuticle clippings and flipped it over onto my hands, showering me with pieces of dead skin. At this point she excused herself and got up from the table. She was gone for almost 10 minutes before she returned, saying nothing. I could go on and on. In the end, I walked out on the appointment about 20 minutes in. I would never recommend this establishment to anyone. In fact, Aveda should consider taking away their accreditation- this salon is an absolute disgrace.

First time customer bought a groupon massage for this place, had to wait many months. Finally three month later going to my appoint. and going there I was told the appoint. was canceled! Worst thing ever having to drive all the way there just to find out your appoint. is canceled and lied that they called. I don`t see no call/voice message. End up rescheduling, waited another month.Waited so long I forgot the appoint. and didnt even go!They cant even give you a call a day before to reminding you that you have an appoint.!They make there client wait 2-4 months, the least they can do is called a day head to remind there customer they have an appoint..You would think they would call you saying that you have missed your appoint, but they didnt even called at all. Not only that I havent even received my massage yet and they have already asked for my groupon number.Meaning that they have received my money. They can kep that money as a donation of me telling other people to never go there.
