I think anyone reading these reviews would agree that one of the most important attributes of an eatery of this caliber is thier customer service. Cossettas needs quite a bit if help in this department, and they need to start with thier owner. My friend and I dropped in to pick up a couple of their pre-made lasagnas this morning to the tune of $81! Thats right, $81, but thats a different matter entirely. Upon exiting the building with two large grocery bags, the owner, unbeknownst to me at the time, Dave Cossetta, grinning and laughing said to me, "you look like that dude the police pepper sprayed and arrested on the Mississippi the other day." Wait...what?! I was stunned and extremely embarrased. I walked away and jumped into my friends car and we drove off. Realizing I had a opportunity, as a customer of Cossettas, to return and file a complaint with the manager/owner. Upon returning Dave recognized me and said in a terse and sarcastic tone, "youre back?" I responded by asking him his name and it was at this time I realized I was speaking with the owner. He tried to put his hand up in a gesture that was intended shut me up and said "Im sorry, let me get you some gift certificates." Sorry Dave youre not going to buy my silence. You should be ashamed of yourself for treating your customers the way you treated me. Not sure why you think its ok but I can tell you right now that it isnt ok. Dave, be leader and show your team you can do better, show your customers you can do better. After all, were the folks that are keeping you in business.

Horrible customer service. I ordered Cossettas for my husbands birthday. I asked for onions on our sausage pizza and then asked that they dice the onions. The young lady taking my order was rude. After spending about 5 minutes with her clarifying what the word "dice" meant, she told me "she wasnt sure they do that". I called my order in 3 hours before I was going to pick it up. I arrived at the time promised and the young lady at the register went to go find my order. I could see it sitting on top of the oven, but she wandered around aimlessly. I was then told I would have to wait for my salad, but handed my pizza order. So there I stood with my pizza getting cold, waiting for a salad I ordered 3 hours before. I had my 4 year old with me as well. With my hands full, I didnt even think to check my pizza. I walked out and drove home. With pizza proudly in hand I announced I was home with my husbands birthday meal. We opened the pizza.....not only was the onion not diced, they had LOADED the pizza with them. I have eaten here many times and have never had a problem. I feel like diced onion is a relatively small request, one they could have easily fulfilled. My husband and older kids had to pick some of the onions off in order to make the pizza edible. For $48.00 and 1 hour and 15 minutes total drive time this meal was not worth it. The only reason they get even two stars is that it wasnt the worst pizza I have had, but not the best either.

Cosettas is amazing. The atmosphere is fun mainly because of the music. My favorite time to go is when it is nice outside because then I am able to sit outside on the second floor and watch cars and people. While this place is a little overpriced (especially for a college kid) I do try and get there a couple times a year. They have great desserts. Their pizza is above average, large, but other pizza places are better. I really enjoy their breadsticks and pastas! Cosettas is cafeteria style which means you grab a tray from one of the stands and then get in line like in grade school. There are three separate lines I think which you might not clearly see. If you have questions just ask one of the friendly wait staff One of the best parts of cosettas is the free parking they have. It is so nice not having to pay to park to go pay to eat. Overall I do like this place and would bring someone from out of town here! They have a grocery store and a pastry shop connected to the store all through cosettas too. These are fun to look through but again too expensive. Enjoy!

One of my Local Favorites.... Cosettas offers you the best value for you money no matter if youre going here for date night, family dinner, work lunch, or for a sweet treat. The employees are very friendly and the restaurant is always clean and tidy. Cosettas offers a great atmosphere and something you wont find anywhere else... This restaurant has a small Italian Grocery Store as well as we separate area for sweets and treats. This restaurant has been around for over a hundred years and even expanded into the building next door to make room for the grocery store and pasticceria (pastries & gelato). Lets talk food: The pizza is purchased by the slice and each slice is massive and extremely delicious.... You can also purchase salads and soup as well but my all-time favorite is the Mostacholi. Ive always had an amazing experience at Cosettas and highly recommend trying it out if you havent done so already. Great place to hit up before a wild game!

I dissed this place the first time, but my friend convinced me that its the pizza - so here we go. We got there at 11:20 (no line). The slices are large and hot. I asked the server do you have salads? He told me I have to get in the other line. Good thing we were early, hardly a wait. I asked for a small salad - the gal told me we only have one size for $6.95!! (how hard is it to sell a smaller size?) I settled for the pizza. Its similiar to Davanis - no big deal. After two visits: Long lines at lunch, downright unfriendly service (the servers / cash register gal wont even look at you), expensive food (for what it is), unbalanced meals, having to carry your food and beverage to the second floor, jammed with tables.

We stopped here for lunch around 11:00 on a Saturday. We had the cafeteria food on the first floor. We tried a variety of items since we had not been here previously. We found the prices to be quite high ($4.95 for one rice ball) and the sauce served with it was terribly salty. The pizza slices were OK, nothing special, as were the cannoli, two different deli salads and garlic bread/bread sticks. We walked up one flight of stairs and ate outside on the second floor patio (again, nothing spectacular about the view - its just a street and building view). There is an elevator that you can take also. For two people we spent just over $40. I would not stop here again - its OK but there are much better places to eat!!

This is an Italian Bakery, Market and Eatery that I try to stop at whenever my path takes me through downtown St. Paul. The menu isnt large, gut everything on it is delicious. You can also purchase the menu items cold in the Market/Deli if you want to take them home for later, to share, or to hoard for yourself. They have fresh baked bread daily and the bakery has real Gelato, if you are a fan. The restaurant seating in mostly on the second level, up a grand staircase, and includes balcony seating that stretches two sides of the building. The premises is clean, bright and airy and is a great place to go to lunch if you are at the Minnesota Science Museum, or at a convention at the Excel Center. I highly recommend.
