If I could give them a negative star I totally would. We contacted the dealership after seeing a truck we were interested in online and set up an appointment to come and do the paperwork. When we got there our truck wasnt there and we were told that it had to be delivered from a different dealership (totally understandable). A few days later we were contacted and told that our truck was there if we wanted to come and check it out. We get there and the truck is still not there but hey lets do more paperwork. We finally get to see our truck the day we are signing our paperwork which was another 5 hours at the dealership. I looked over the truck and noticed a few things I wanted to get fixed like the control handle for the seat that is missing (which is now being held by a pair of pliers) They refused to fix anything by throwing in my face that we were already lucky enough to get approved. I figured I would just deal with it and just wanted to leave that place and move on with my life. We got it on 10/09/2015 but on 10/17/2015 the dealer calls us and stated that they "forgot" to do inspections on the truck, so back to the dealership we go. We also requested a second key for which we had to drive back over there because they key making guy is only there on certain days, so back to the dealership we go. Then a short time after that we noticed that the truck was acting funny when shifting so we contacted the dealer since it was about a week before our warranty expired so they can look at it. They told us to drop it off and they will check it out so back we go again. We havent heard anything from them for 3 days so we called and they said to come and get the truck because there were no issues with it. The truck continued doing the same thing but they said since it was out of warranty there was nothing they would do for us. Well here I am 9 months later with my truck doing the same thing as it was before and after they "checked" it out. Now the transmission is going out and there is rust all over the body of the truck popping through. Im pretty sure Im still expected to make payments on something I CANT even drive safely. They emailed us two days ago, reminding us of oil changes and other services. We emailed back explaining on how unhappy we were and explained that we were possibly looking into hiring an attorney because something has to be done to make this right. Some lady immediately called us and said that someone from the dealership with contact us and they never did. SHOCKER!! All I want is to have a truck that I am happy with and that I can safely drive with my 6 year old. Ive bought used cars in the past and even still have the one I got 5 years ago and NEVER had issues as I have with this dealership. Feel like they just wanted the sale and didnt really give a crap about our happiness or safety. They dont care, they dont call you back, they just sit back and laugh at you while you are stuck with a broken down vehicle. I however wont be sitting back and letting this go. Someone is going to make this right whether willingly which would be the right thing to do or legally. I understand warranties on used cars but I did contact them before it expired so that leads me to believe that they didnt even look at it knowing that they wouldnt have to deal with me after it expired. Just bad business!!!

This, by far, has been the WORST car buying experience I have EVER experienced, I see these "low pressure" sales comments below and im just blown away by the fact that someone felt that way because that is NOT how things went AT ALL. We came into this experience excited and not knowing what to expect! We left with tears in our eyes at the harsh realization that other have possibly been treated like us. After an EIGHT hour experience, we were told we would have to pay ticket price for a Kia Soul and had $1500 worth of trade ins because the "tint and spoiler" were not included when the car came on the lot... which we were told came to them like that from a car show... obviously not. Then, the sales Manager Chris Brinley, informs us that he had to loan the bank financing us $1500 in order to even agree to finance us... sound like an illegal transaction of trying to up the price to make it seem like we put more down, because the 3 banks I called later the next day had informed me that NEVER would that happen, but sometimes they like to lie for that reason, to make it look like more down. After being harassed in the parking lot, with our keys locked up to our current vehicles with no escape, I had been brought to tears when told that the reason im paying so much for this car was because all the past mistakes I had made on my credit and should feel lucky to even be given the chance, and made to feel bad for keeping them late and working so hard for NOTHING. When we informed them that we would like to sleep on it (even the idea of test driving it over night would of been nice, had it been offered prior to this whole event) we were called liars, because "people who say that dont come back the next day." The sales person Nate was nice enough, but remained quiet with no comments while we were being pressured and was also somewhat pushy during this whole experience. They called us back the next day with an offer of a different car, with "less features" for the same price per month but wouldnt have to pay sales tax because it would be included in the monthly payment... reminder... $1500 worth of trade ins! So when we went back and forth we had informed them we would contact them Monday, and Kathy would call us to remind us, guess what happens come Monday? A generic message on my phone "we see you had an appointment with us today regarding a vehicle, we look forward to meeting with you." A GENERIC CALL BACK TO SOMEONE THEY HAD INVESTED HOURS IN TO AND MADE SURE WE KNEW DARN WELL WE HAD KEPT THEM PAST THEIR OPERATING HOURS TO DO SO! Stay away from this place, seriously, stay away! No one deserves to have this thrown in their face, and certainly never feel bad for their past mistakes, as I informed Chris after it being thrown in my face multiple times, i would not have changed a THING I did wrong in the past because I wouldnt be the woman and person I was today without it! Dont ever forget that!

Im not one to normally leave reviews much less bad ones. This review isnt so much on Jim Butler as a company, mostly just a horrible salesman. A friend of mine decided to buy an additional car to use just on trips an casual driving. Earlier in the week he called JB and spoke to an Annie (who he said was very nice & helpful), also spoke to another lady. He told both of them specifically what he wanted, 2017 Forte Hatchback. He was told by both that they had several to choose from on the lot that matched his specs and would fit in the price range he wanted. We drove over an hour to the lot and was then met walking in by "Bill". Within a few minutes I sensed severe attitude from him. They didnt have one 17 Forte Hatchback on lot. Bill loudly expresses "Dont have those and no lots keep those! I dont care where you go etc, etc" oh and "People need to stop talking to internet representatives!" (Im still trying to figure that one out because we NEVER spoke to an internet rep.) So he says "the only thing we have are the 16 hatchbacks", so my friend was ok with those, but BIll said that he couldnt get it them in the price range. He kept screaming remarks like "Numbers are numbers! Numbers dont lie Travis!" Then he pushed my friend to towards the Kia Soul. And again...my friend was ok with those, but Bill insisted the only Soul he was able to get in the $250 price range (with 2000 down pmt) was a baseline 5 speed, not automatics. By that time Im in shock at the behavior and I walk away to call another dealership to check pricing. I spoke to one 2.5 hours away and he addressed my questions and got back to me with price. I walked back to Travis and could still hear Bill drilling on him about how "It was impossible there or anywhere else and if we found a better deal somewhere else to just go, etc" and I looked at Travis and said "We need to go for a drive". Remarks were flying out of Bills mouth the whole time we walked back to my vehicle. Later that afternoon, a salesman in Jefferson City not only sold Travis the car he wanted, but drove to his house (hour away) to pick him up and bring him back to the lot to purchase it so he wouldnt have to worry about a ride! Again, Jim Butler this isnt necessarily a rating on your company, but I strongly suggest you monitor your salesman who represent you. We TOTALLY understand the miscommunication on the availability of the vehicles we were told you had, but to be degraded by someone who acted like it was our fault..? I work in sales also, sold millions in property and have never behaved like that to clients.
