I had an 8 am appointment on 7-8-16 for a Missouri state inspection. We dropped the car of the day before and left the keys in the drop box. At approx. 10 am my wife called and asked if they were finished. She was told they we just starting on it and should be finished in about an hour. At approx. 12 pm my wife had driven by the shop and saw our car had moved position in the parking lot and was on the other side, so she called and asked if they were finished. They said they were working on it now, everything looked good and they were almost finished. She asked how they were working on it, because she had just seen it outside. they said the just pulled it out for a sec for a rush job. About 2:30 pm they called my wife and said it needed about $585 of repairs, and they would be done with the inspection in about an hour. The inspection report calls for brake pads less than one-thirty-second of and inch, and rear control arm bushing torn out allowing excessive wheel movement. They called back about 3:30, to see if we wanted to do the repairs, I told them no not yet, and i would pick up the car. They said they would get it ready. I arrived about 4:15 to get my car and they still had it hooked up to a computer. Had to wait another 15 minutes for them to finish, inspection time on my report is 4:32:05 pm. I changed the rear brakes myself and found the inside pads to be about 1/8" thick, and the insides to be about 1/16", twice the limit. Then when I checked for rear play according to the manual, I found no play at all. I then took the car to a different shop and paid for another safety only inspection. They came back and told me they could find no play at the rear left wheel, but the front right wheel had a damaged sway bar end link. This also is the wheel that Hi-tech claims to have checked! So not only did they fabricate problems to charge money, the didnt catch the actual problem that was a true safety issue. I passed the emissions, and I am happy to pay for it, but was charged $12 for a fake safety inspection.

For years I did all my car repairs, even major ones, myself. I got to know Tim when he worked for a dealer years ago. He started HiTech from a small garage near our home and I started having Tim do our automobile repairs then. He was trustworthy and very affordable, then (and now). He then opened the large shop on Boone Hills. We take all our cars to HiTech and I do very little work on them anymore. Our two daughters take their cars to HiTech as well. Weve had work, from a total transmission rebuild to the simple oil change and HiTech stands behind their work. Tim has assembled an excellent team of mechanics who are tops in the region. HiTech is an automotive repair shop you can trust. When I hear them indicate my vehicle needs something, as I do know cars, I know its legitimate. Unlike so many other shops that either drum up business, HiTech is dependable. Women who are wary of repair shops, need not be at HiTech. They will accurately advise you whether your car needs repairs or service and help you select critical versus noncritical items.

My sister in law went here a few years back and had some "work" done to her van. Turns out that the work was never done and she called them out on it and they said that they had a disgruntled employee at that time who must have taken out their anger on her. Skip forward a few years I had my starter swapped out (which they did). However after this two problems emerged from my car that Ive never had before going to the. The gas pedal will occasionally stop halfway through putting your foot down and right turns would make a loud grinding noise throughout the entire car. Fast forward to last month my employee took his car here and he had been quoted with a bunch of stuff that was needed for his truck. He took it to a prefered mechanic of his and was told all that stuff was fine. When confronted about this they used the excuse of "within that time we had a disgruntled employee that we had to let go." Be careful of "disgruntled" employees here because they apparently dont pay to well.

PLEASE READ IF YOU HAVE A FOREIGN CAR. I have two high end cars and they always been very well maintained. Im not going to bore you with all the details but I have never been treated so poorly by anyone that has ever worked on my cars.Tim the owner is the biggest jerk i have ever met .He is not competent to work on foreign cars and need to stick with what he knows. I have Range Rover and a Mercedes and he couldnt fix either one of them even with multiple trips back to the shop. When i questioned his competence he became very nasty and told to count the foreign cars in the parking lot and if there where fifty cars out there only 4 where foreign. Its worth taking your car to the professionals as we all know you get what you pay for. I was trying to support local businesses in the area but would rather pay a few extra bucks to have it done right the first time!!!!!!

After moving here 5 years ago and going through a number of other auto repair shops, that were less than pleasing, we found Hi-Tech. We have 2 vehicles, a SUV and a diesel car, and after the 1st repair we had done 3 years ago, we will not go anywhere else. I refer everyone I know to Tim and Jeremy and everyone thanks me for sending them to HI-Tech after their experience. Not only are they competitively priced but they always accommodate our schedule. They always call throughout the repair we are having done and update me on how things are going. They offer recommendations as to what preventative repairs need to be done so we can schedule those for next visit or immediate repair. Customer service is always the main objective with these guys as well. Keep up the great work Hi-Tech!!

I was looking for a solid and more importantly, trustworthy repair center as an alternative to the dealership. As a first time customer with enough knowledge to understand the work being done, price of the parts and a fair rate for labor, Hi-Tech handled our repair with integrity and transparency. The problem was not a straight-forward repair and required a fair amount of diagnostic work, which we anticipated. Erics (service advisor) communication was prompt, accurate, and he was willing to take as much time as necessary to describe all available options. I write very few reviews but they earned this post and they have earned our repeat business. Nicely done, Hi-Tech and thank you for your service.

The folks at Hi-Tech Auto are what all local auto mechanic shops should be like. Every time I have had a car issue, no matter if it is small like a tire losing air or big like an engine losing power, I have been treated the same regardless. For those times when I just stopped by out of the blue because my car developed a problem, I did not expect to get immediate service but it was so great that they offered me the use of a Hi-Tech auto vehicle as a loaner. This meant I was able to get my vehicle fixed without losing any work time on my end. Just from the time I call or stop in to the time I get my vehicle back, I have never received the same quality of service that Hi-Tech provides anywhere else.
