Unfortunately PODS has a strange system where the only contact you can have with the company is through the nationwide call number, but the local company can have their own policies that supersede what youll be told when you book. Our delivery address has too narrow of a driveway to allow a pod to be placed in it. Despite the assurance from the customer service person at the 800 number (who is the only person you can talk to -- its impossible to contact the local franchise) that we could have same day delivery and removal of the POD, the local franchisee refuses that for our municipality. Thats fine -- we can be waiting and unload it in 15 minutes and they would only need to lower it temporarily and then pick it right back up. Even spoke with our municipality to confirm they were OK with this and they were. No go -- the local franchisee refuses to accommodate that (even though this means they have only one trip to our delivery location rather than two). While its easy to want to attribute this to hard headedness of the franchisee, we are unable to talk to them to even hear if there is some unknown to us reason why this is impossible. There might be mitigating facts, but nothing has been offered as explanation. Clearly this franchisee is unwilling to contact us to explain directly what the issue is, or why their policies differ from what is being promised by the ONLY way to contact them. (when you call the 800 number, they put you on hold, call the local operator, and then come back on the line with what the local person said). This is a strange way to run a business. I recommend you consider working with a company where you can talk to the people who do the actual work and make the actual decisions.

There was no availability to actually pick up the pod when the time came for it, even with 5 days notice. Not being able to move the POD from a property which I had sold created enormous problems for both myself and the buyer of the home. When I called to discuss this issue and who would be responsible if the POD was damaged while it was then on someone elses property, I asked to speak to a manager, but a manager would not get on the phone to talk to me. The process of having to use a national call center instead of being able to talk to the local operator who actually does the scheduling was also very problematic. Getting information was very difficult and follow up from the call center is non-existent since they are unable to make outbound phone calls. I dont blame the local operator. All of these problems were caused by the call center, but I would neither use PODS again, nor recommend PODS to anyone.

I will NEVER use PODS Moving and Storage ever again or recommend them to anyone. Packing your household items is easy but once it leaves for the storage center, good luck getting it back. Once I bought my new house I scheduled a drop off location and time. I checked the website a couple days later and noticed that the new drop-off address was the same as my first drop address. I had to call in and wait an hour on hold just to talk to someone to make the change to the correct address. A day before the delivery of my POD, they called to remind me that my POD would be dropped off the next day. I logged back in to double check the address and sure enough, they entered in the wrong address! They screwed my moving plans and now I have to wait another week just to move into my house. Thanks PODs.

Our POD was delivered and the condition is unacceptable. There is broken glass inside and it will need to be swept out. I called PODS but they were unable to get hold of the St. Louis office. The driver indicated this POD was one of the older models. I am not sure why we received this one in unacceptable condition but I will need a replacement POD to be delivered.

Looking for additional help with storage when trying to start a project-this has made the project happen. Had to empty my house for sanding, painting and all that goes with it and the experience was better than anticipated. They handled it all including getting the permit for street parking. I have recommended them to my friends. On time delivery and pick up. John

PODS made a major mistake with my order. They were prompt in cancellation, but it really put our entire move in a bind. Until they are able to promptly and professionally handle the demand placed on them, I will not use their service.
