The ladies in the office are friendly, but the quality of body work is horrible. Brought my car here to get a new front bumper which I paid for out of pocket, and to fix rear end damage I had endured after a minor non-fault accident. The paint on the front bumper was noticeably wavy, and the rear bumper was put on crooked. Not to mention both of the little gas tank rubber stoppers had been removed, so I had to go to the trouble of replacing them otherwise the gas cap didnt close right. I tried calmly addressing the rear alignment issues with the manager, but he told me it was put on like that on purpose to compensate for previous damage done to the inside rear quarter panel. How is there internal damage when my car had never been in an accident before? He said if I wanted the bumper aligned correctly, I would have to pay at least a few thousand dollars out of pocket to fix the internal "damage" that apparently is not covered by insurance. Are you kidding me? They already got $2,400 from the insurance company and couldnt even do it right the first time, so why should I have to pay extra money out of pocket for something that wasnt my fault? I would NOT recommend going here at all.

I believe more often than not people take the time to complain about bad service but they dont say anything when they had a good experience. Well, let me take this opportunity to thank Schaefer for an outstanding experience. I was very impressed with how well-organized the whole process was from start to finish. At least as far as I can tell the quality of the work that was done on my vehicle is great. Most importantly though, I was so impressed with Nicolle Nash! She was very patient, professional and knowledgeable. I had never been rear-ended before so the process of dealing with the insurance, tow trucks, auto body repairs was new to me. She took the time to explain exactly what I needed to do, answered all of the questions I had very thoroughly and was so pleasant to work with. I really appreciated the follow up emails and phone calls from Nicolle giving me updates on what was going on with my car. I didnt have to wonder about the repair process at all. Thank you for the work you guys do. I have been recommending Schaefer Autobody to everyone I know in the St. Louis area.

Just wanted to give a shout out and a big thank you to the crew over at Schaefer Autobody in Fenton. I dropped my vehicle off on Monday, May 16 for some pretty sever hail damage, and they estimated that theyd have it ready by Wednesday, May 25th. I got some bad news a few days in, that not everything could be PDRd and some traditional body and paint work would be required, but that the still expected to have the vehicle ready by Wednesday the 25th. To my surprise, I got a call two days early, on Monday the 23rd that my vehicle was ready early and would be available for pickup that evening. And boy does it look good. It came back to me probably looking better than when I bought it, and clean as could be inside and out. Also, the customer service team was diligent in keeping me updated, and they were happy to answer any questions I had. I would certainly recommend Shaefer Autobody in Fenton, even if you have to drive a little ways to get to them.

Not good at giving decent timelines...might be the industry, idk...but this place was very programmed with what they say. Im sure the work they do is fine...Im still waiting after 2 weeks to p/u my car...(nothing major...front bumper replace was the biggest thing) but the add ons they did to make some more dollars at my expense...and the run of the mill answers, I was not impressed with communication and coordination (not having all the parts needed/having to scramble). They know there is nothing you can do anyway... But more than a handful of times they would say something programmed...and when I would remind them..."Oh yea thats right, never-mind" was the usual response...And btw...I didnt get irate or anything, because that never helps the situation. I would never want to deal with them again.

Worse Body shop ever! Even Maaco. I took this picture of the rear bumper cover on their lot thru my car window on an Iphone 4, As you can see theres a 4-6 inch long black area (at the Body line, ignore all the other defects) where theres little paint, And they just cleared over it. . And the manager said he cantt see it. What BS! Looks to me like they cut and buffed it and burned thru the paint. Manager claims they didnt buff it, just did a repaint.(the first time they screw the pooch on matching the color) Never go here! I did better work on the used cars lots I worked for in my youth, Using paint in spray cans.

Clueless and arrogant! Stoped by to obtain an estimate on a damage caused by the arms of a lift. The guy took a quick look and with no hesitation "informed" me that both of the rockers of my car were rusted to such an extended that he is even afraid to attempt the repair. When I asked him to show me the rust he pointed out waved paint and "explained" to me that this is rust forming under the paint. In reality this is the texture of the rocker schutz that Porsche and many other German cars have been using for decades. Long story short it was an awkward experience and a total waste of time. Never again...

Always disappointed when you feel scammed. Insurance accident where other party was at fault. State Farm makes it difficult enough but Schafer told us they were waiting to get started to make sure we wouldnt have surprise charges. Then, when called to pay on Friday, Im told we owe $200 more than what we were told. We had a choice on where to take our car and Im definitely disappointed about where we ended up. Man, hate feeling scammed.

This is the only place Ill go for body work. These people are great, do fantastic work, and stand firmly behind what they fix. When and if the time comes this is where Ill be taking my dents. I couldnt recommend them any more highly.
